In a small, cozy town nestled between rolling hills and whispering forests, a peculiar event occurred one misty evening. It began with a soft pitter-patter of raindrops on the cobblestone streets, accompanied by distant rumblings of thunder. The townsfolk hurried indoors, seeking refuge from the impending storm.
As the sky darkened, casting long shadows over the quiet houses, a lone figure emerged from the mist. It was a weary traveler, her cloak drenched from the rain, clutching a tattered bundle close to her chest. With cautious steps, she made her way to the doorstep of an old, abandoned mansion at the edge of town.
The mansion, with its crumbling facade and overgrown garden, stood silent and foreboding in the dim light. Yet, the traveler approached without hesitation, her eyes fixed on a small, weathered door hidden beneath a canopy of ivy.
With trembling hands, she knocked softly, her heart pounding in anticipation. Moments passed, and just as she began to lose hope, the door creaked open, revealing a stooped figure shrouded in shadows.
