My wife, Wanda, and I have been married for twenty-seven years. We have three beautiful kids; they are Gabriel, thirty-five; Sharonda, thirty-five; and Michael, thirty. We are also proud grandparents.

In addition to my family, I must extend a special honor to Mrs. Crycynthia Gardner and Cynthia Border. They gave positive feedback and encouraged me early in my songwriting. I must not forget about their spouses, Pastor John Gardner Sr. and Deacon John Border, for supporting their wives; it was a previous pastor, Dr. General Bryant, who planted the seed for me to write.

During Dr. Bryant's tenure at Second Elizabeth, I never missed a Sunday attending church.

I would like to also thank Dr. Clarissa West-White.

I am forever thankful for the godsent people in my life, and no amount of words could express the love that I have in my heart for them.

I have visited the above churches for Sunday services, funerals, revivals, and weddings. The atmosphere of each was very loving; revisitation was extended and well received. I would gladly call my church any one of the above churches.

    Introduction

I was born in March of 1961 to the late Clarence Dixon and Lonnie Mae Murray-Dixon. My surviving siblings are Rodney Dixon, Joan Carol Dixon-Bridges (Evan), W. Dean Dixon-McClurkin (Melvin), and S. Latonya Dixon. Myself, brother, and three sisters are the sole survivors out of eight. Rose and Trenda were my sisters who passed early in my childhood. Those two sisters never learned to talk good and were plagued with health issues. They would cry and be standing in a bed of ants while playing in the yard. I had to remove them from harm and remove the ants. I would rub them down with alcohol as taught to do so. At eight years old, I realized that there was a God, and he is merciful. One other sister passed at about two weeks old; she was my mother's firstborn. I am the fourth oldest out of my mother and father's children.

In 1979, after graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Navy. After a total of twelve years of obligated service, my parents became sickly, and I later became a federal correctional officer in Tallahassee, Florida, for fourteen years.

Early in my youth, my parents were lacking in education but not in love for me and my siblings. In my community, we were also loved; there was this household saying: A community raises a child. I've found that to be true due to the fact that my community had plenty of loving moms and dads. There were six moms who stood out; only five of them were coworkers with my mom. Their names are Mary Green, Matilda Sherman, Evelyn Zackery, Bessie Mae Barkley, Mary Anderson, and Helen Carol. Only two of them are deceased now, but my memories of them will last forever. Families such as the Scotts, Kenons, Moyes, Lightfoots, Wiggins, Dinards, Haynes, and Thomases were the type of people that look out for everyone. I was truly blessed and very grateful to everyone for loving me just like their own child.

My dream is to write songs locally or nationally for a singer or group. But for now, I'd rather have a family enjoy them. Songs, poems, prayers, and testimonials have been placed on my heart by God, and I want to share them with you. Songs are written with the potential of becoming a great song. There is a message or story to be sang in character with people that you are comfortable with. Sunday's Best is a television talent show where my idea came from. Some of the judges said to the contestants that they should record that song. To me, that was the start from amateur to professional. My tunes are mine alone. Establishing your own tunes will certainly make a song your song. Therefore, I wish everyone success!

There are two types of singers to me: there is the amateur/impersonator and there is the professional—with your God-given talents to sing and to be creative will make you original.

By duplicating or impersonating someone else, the style of singing is a copycat to the original.

Real-life experiences are rooted in my songs, poems, prayers, and testimonials. Testimonials are my understanding of how I see my God. Each song and poem is based on my understanding; with my understanding, songs or poems are born. It is my hope that this book will entice readers to read the Bible or to stay in the Word; within this book is mentioned first my reasoning for the title according to Jesus's name. In addition, I am adding a biblical truth and answer frequently asked questionnaire (parts 1 and 2). Answer sheet, answers, and references are provided for
