The young scientist and explorer Maria lands her dream job at the Global Treasure Association (GTA) as a part of an international team of scientists who study mysterious places with an intriguing history and a powerful magnetic field, spread out all over the world. The young woman has no idea she wasn't chosen randomly but because the GTA has uncovered her biggest secret: her rare inherited gift. She can not only feel the magnetic field of the places she visits but is also able to see events which have happened there in the past and even bend magnetic energy to her will.

Meanwhile, Andrew Bale, an investigative journalist, comes upon a surprising lead pointing to the GTA's cooperation with one of the biggest weapons manufacturing corporations in the world. They're building a new kind of weapon based on the power of magnetic fields and Maria is the most important part of the GTA's project. Her entire life is going to turn upside down really soon...

Andrew is determined to publish the results of his investigation while the GTA is going to do everything it its power to stop him. Andrew and Maria: two complete strangers, get involved in a dangerous expedition which takes them all around the globe and are thrown into a fierce race of life and death against the GTA.
