About this ebook
This a short essay on some of the Filipino mystical beliefs, it explores some of the unknown knowledge that passed through generations, among Pinoy or Filipinos. These beliefs may be the truth and may even have a scientific basis or entirely baloney, but the fact remains that this was part and parcel of Filipino culture.
Filipino, Filipinos, and Pinoy are used interchangeably in this book. These words are referring to the native inhabitants or citizen of the Republic of the Philippines.
This is my first attempt to explore this subject, and hoping that many will learn and gather some insights in this essay.

Pinoy Lore
Filipinos are boasting their rich cultural heritage. Aside from the fact that the Philippines (home of the Filipinos) were conquered by Spaniard, American, and Japanese people, natives have been trading products and cultures to other European or Asian nations. The mixture of influences and the set of traditions and beliefs that have evolved through the centuries have shaped the Filipinos today.

Like cultures on every part of the world Filipinos have different stories to tell when it comes to folklore, occultism, and paranormal. From the north of Batanes to the south of Tawi-Tawi there will be stories of beliefs and traditions on witchcraft, myth, and supernatural phenomena.
Filipino myths and folklores have special functions in society. These reflect the beliefs and traditions of Filipinos. Usually, lore is an explanation of natural occurrences or phenomena through mythological stories. But as time goes off, many kinds of research have suggested that maybe these so-called folklores may have some basis or parcel of reality. It may be unbelievable but on a creative and rich mind of many Filipinos, these stories have bases. Whether it is true or not, the fact remains that it’s a reflection of Pinoy culture. Though the world is continuously changing and science is advancing, but the belief in the lores remains to the Filipino people. People may deny the truthfulness of a certain myth but will refrain from crossing the lines for psychological reasons.
The stories and information presented here are from my personal experience, research, and interviews from people connected or involved in occultism, witchcraft, and paranormal. The idea is to present the Filipino folklore, traditions, occultism, mysticism, and paranormal, as is. Though seems to be simple and basic, I am hopeful that new information may be learned from this writing.
