REVELATION
Ode to Scripture
People do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
(Matthew 4:4 and Deuteronomy 8:3)
And beginning with Moses and all the prophets,
he explained to them what was said
in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:27)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training
in righteousness, so that all God’s people may
be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
Holy Book of Books—alive, active,
full of absolutes and superlatives—
written revelation of God Most High,
the Creator of heaven and earth:
People of all ages and places have
absorbed your ever true Love message,
responding with unceasing prayer and love
that always protects, trusts, perseveres.
GENESIS
Originator
From nothing, something!
From dark, timeless silence
in endless empty space—
the first word, the God Word
—Light burst forth alive
with unbounded force,
unimaginable brilliance,
infinite creativity.
Supervisor
Benevolent Overseer, You
always gave, daily give good work—
gardens to tend, creatures to name,
people to love, children to feed.
We are descendants of Noah,
needing superhuman supervision—
call us Abram, Hagar and Ishmael;
Abraham, Sarah,
