It shows how spirituality becomes a core element in our everyday lives and in maintaining our health. In the chaos of our modern world, we often find ourselves searching for meaning, purpose, and a deeper connection to our true selves.

In this profound and insightful exploration, Authors, Ming Wu, Ph.D., and Judy Lin, guide us on a spiritual and medical path toward self-empowerment and unveiling the timeless wisdom of the Tao. As we witness more limitations on western medicine, this book is presenting an alternative medical option called Taoist Chinese Medicine.

    About the Authors

    Preface: The Spirit Speaks

In each one of us, there is divinity.

We are souls of infinite power, with the wisdom to create, to heal and to manifest our reality to the fullest extent of our capabilities. We can discover the essence of who we are and who we can become through our learnings and our spiritual practice, because we are spiritual beings first and foremost. Our physical bodies can be repaired when we utilize our healing energies.

Inside all of us, there is an innate intelligence that can heal itself when given the right resources and when spared unnecessary interferences. Our bodies are designed to self-repair, but our current medical system does not promote sustainable health and instead seeks to profit from illness as its first priority.

The spirit to heal and receive healing is embedded in Eastern health practices. These practices focus on the whole body/mind/spirit interconnection and its entwined presence within our social and environmental surroundings. Generally, mainstream Western medicine and its practicing physicians do not see this perspective as necessary or desirable in the diagnosis and treatment of illness, nor in the maintenance of a healthy equilibrium between body, mind and spirit. Western medicine does not acknowledge the soul in general.

The core focus and strength of the Western medical paradigm is the isolation of a problem with a potential or likely diagnosis based upon symptoms, patient history, physical examination, tests, research-based treatment options, and so on. However, this core focus generally excludes emotional and spiritual considerations.
