Perhaps you might need to broaden your repertoire - Kleber Sampaio

    About the Author

    Kleber Sampaio

Offstage and in life, he engages with passion, creates with the soul, and believes that art can make the world better.

"I have always been a curious soul. I used to tell my mother that I would be an 'idealist' because my arsenal of ideas and questions seemingly never stopped. Art was my natural destiny, and social and human spheres became an infinite well of exploration. Connecting with people inside and outside their homes, touching hearts in the real and virtual world, led me to write for you, to inspire and share what I have learned along the way. I deeply believe that real stories have the power to inspire us, and that is my mission.

My incredible wife, Lygia, and my lovely daughter, Helena, are my treasures, the reasons why life is worth living. My faith and spirituality have taught me that there is a purpose in all of this, that someone is intentionally putting the pieces together and giving us the chance to create, serve, and experience.

My family, who loves me unconditionally, has shaped and nurtured my respect, admiration, and affection. Everyone I have met on this journey, knowingly or not, has taught me valuable lessons. It is a blessing to be useful and in constant evolution. All of you have shaped me, and I am deeply grateful for that.

'Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.'

    Pablo Picasso.

    Introduction

Over time, I have been studying the contemporary reality faced by many artists. We live in a hyper-connected era, yet paradoxically, we are feeling increasingly isolated.

In this scenario, flooded by a constant deluge of content, artists from all disciplines find themselves in a battle for attention, competing for space amidst adorable cat videos and purposeless memes. After hours dedicated to study, practice, and refinement, it's frustrating when the content barely receives attention on the timelines of friends and family. The competition is uneven between valuable content, excessive doses of addictive dopamine, and advertisers willing to spend fortunes on paid traffic.

Everyone competes for brief seconds of attention, attempting to turn these moments into concrete actions by viewers, who, in turn, are inundated by an overload of information, resulting in a true data intoxication.

The only way art lives is through the experience of the observer. The reality of art begins with the eyes of the beholder, through imagination, invention, and confrontation.

    Keith Haring

Have you ever wondered why, even in the midst of the digital opportunities explosion, artists still struggle to capture the deserved attention for their works? Why is technical mastery and creativity often insufficient to build lasting careers?

The answer may lie in the fundamental lack of a comprehensive repertoire. The absence of a substantial repertoire greatly impacts the life of an artist, regardless of their field, whether in music, performing arts, writing, or visual arts. A limited repertoire can lead to a lack of originality and creativity, resulting in artistic stagnation. You have probably found yourself creatively exhausted, weaving criticisms about your work as if everything you create is just more of the same, hasn't that been true?

Without a solid set of references, an artist risks falling into the trap of repeating themes, styles, or ideas.

Imagine a singer who initially captivates everyone with their exceptional voice on a musical television program. Their vocal talent is a natural gift that stands out for its clarity, power, and a truly unique timbre, impressing the judges and advancing in the competition.

As the program progresses, the singer encounters challenges in interpreting songs of various styles, requiring a broader knowledge to capture the nuances of each composition. However, this singer has never had the opportunity to study vocal techniques or consciously analyze the performances of other singers. As the episodes unfold, the voice that initially impressed everyone begins to become monotonous and predictable.

The singer approaches romantic songs, festive tunes, and social themes in a uniform manner, repeating the same vocal tricks and failing to fully explore the potential of their voice. When compared to another singer with a repertoire, they lose their position, as viewers perceive, even if unconsciously, the second singer's
