The Nightshade Guild: Chapter Three - The year the Guild was lost in time.
The time scythe is gone and with it the mages of the Nightshade Guild.
For Ameria, Princess of the Elven Realm, it’s been ten years since the Nightshade Guild were scattered in time. Now, the world is going all to hell. Without the Guild to police them, paranormal creatures run wild, destroying everything in their path. Their next target is Ameria’s kingdom.
But the Elven princess has a plan.
With her realm under siege and portals threatening to unleash chaos, Ameria seeks out retired mages hidden in the shadows, hoping to gather enough power to find each of the lost mages and bring them home. Together, they will try to save the Elven Realm from certain apocalypse.
Jemma, Niam, Prim, and Arion, along with the other Guild mages are pulled to a time where they meet a thirteen-year-old Ameria and face a destruction unlike any they have ever seen. With the help of the other Guild mages, their families, and familiars, they combine their magic to take them back to where it all started.

AMERIA
Ameria sat beneath a large sprawling tree that was in full bloom. Pink blossoms filled its branches, providing just the right amount of shade to keep cool. The tree was once her uncle Gormar, her father’s personal assistant, before he betrayed her parents then killed them when Ameria was an infant. Gorm, as Ameria liked to call him, tried to have her killed as well. Her uncle thought he could step in and rule the kingdom, but the mages showed him how mistaken he was. And now he was a tree.
She took a deep breath of honey-scented air. Every time she thought about those days, she felt a mix of sadness and joy. Sadness for the deaths of her parents and others, but joy because she had a dozen mages step in as parent figures. She spun the charm bracelet on her wrist, admiring the shiny charms that tinkled softly under her touch. Each charm, a gift from a different mage, held memories of that crazy time.
Despite being ten months old, Ameria knew Gorm had killed her parents. She’d tried to tell the mages, but she wasn’t talking enough for them to understand her. When the mages figured out what Gorm had done, she’d turned him into a tree. To forever watch life pass him by but never being able to partake in their traditions—fitting punishment for someone who wanted to control the kingdom. Now, he had no power at all.
She had been barely two years old at the time of Gorm’s transformation, but she remembered almost everything in full color and detail. Maybe it was because of her magic, or maybe it was because the time had been so stressful, but she wouldn’t forget any of it. Ever.
She watched a little striped bee buzz through a plume of pink flowers. Here, in the safety of the palace courtyard, she felt safe, but she missed the mages. And the world outside the palace was anything but safe. She shook her head.
Ten years, Gorm. Ameria wrote in her journal, a gift from the mages. The first section held entries from each mage detailing Ameria’s growth and what went on during the month each of them took care of her. She’d read the section many times over the last few years, while hoping she’d see them all again soon.
Ten years since the Time Scythe was destroyed, hurling the Nightshade Guild mages through time. And still, there’s no sign of them and no sure plan to bring them to current time. Not that she hadn’t tried to contact them—she had, many times. But crossing timelines, even for someone as powerful as Ameria took a lot of magic. At the moment, a great deal of the kingdom’s magic was being used to keep the shields and wards in place against the paranormals who were trying to tear the kingdom apart.
Ameria needed more magic. A lot more magic.
The leaves above her rustled gently in response and a few pink flower petals drifted down to her lap. Gorm often moved his branches and shook his leaves when she was nearby or talked with him. Many times, she was sure he didn’t have nice things to say to her and she ignored him when he was cranky.
Without the mages, my world has fallen to chaos outside the palace walls. Paranormal beings roam unchecked, wreaking havoc everywhere they go. Our kingdom's shielding weakens daily, and though I feel safe at the moment, I feel the shift in energy. The palace won’t protect me forever. A lump formed in
