AI Technology creates an experience by taking on the personas of Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin in Earth Soldier Unveiled. Quotes from the conversation between Giovanni and Baldwin regarding a section of each poem identify the 13 sections in the book. The conversations originate from discussions about the deeper meanings hidden in metaphors of poetry I had written in the early 1990s.

Sometimes, there is much to unpack in those deeper chambers buried in the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind lays the groundwork for how your life plays out by offering direction for personal transformations or attempting to suppress a feeling or emotion. An AI version of Giovanni and Baldwin are partnering in some instances to perform a psychoanalysis on my poetry written over a quarter century ago. The thought of these two, even in AI form, peering into depths of an earlier version of myself seems far fetch, but it’s the narrative interwoven into Earth Soldier Unveiled, and it’s exciting.

It’s even crazier when brainstorming; the idea of a hologram of these two individuals existing in the near future openly discussing Earth Soldier Unveiled borders an unexplained level of excitement accompanied by a sense of trepidation.

How do our subconscious thoughts and trauma carve out the shape of our spiritual experience, color our perception, and define the principles used to raise our families? These are questions firmly sitting in my mind, waiting for attention and answers. I explored one path in an attempt to find answers. I thought about how a cognitive technology like artificial intelligence can assist with understanding how experiences give birth to thoughts and ideas that consciously and unconsciously create our reality.

Since I’m identified in the US as an African American, I’m considering molding AI into a tool designed to help engage and gain insight into the social traumas inherited by members of my community. Perhaps this book is the beginning of a blueprint for accomplishing that goal. I didn’t understand the impact of trauma until I was old enough to piece together the experiences of my grandmother’s generation, my parents, and then mine in relation to the two former groups. Hypothetically, AI may generate good leads for me to follow as its
