Russia’s Final Destination: Russia, Israel, and the End of Times
()
About this ebook
You may be wondering why Russia invaded Ukraine and whether it has anything to do with the prophecies in the Bible concerning Israel. Abraham DeAlmeida, Ph.D., a pastor with three doctorates in theology, tackles that question and many others in this book.
He details references the Bible makes about “Gog,” which is the nation now known as Russia, and argues that current events are definitely tied to prophecies in the Bible. He also observes how the Russians and Palestinians have taken advantage of America’s flight from Afghanistan.
The book also zeroes in on Israel in detail, noting that having withstood so much persecution, the Israelis are once again home, with more Jews returning there due to the current war causing widespread opposition and hatred toward them.
Lastly, the author examines and explains the End Times, including the Rapture of the Church, the world government (first beast), the Antichrist (second beast) identified by 666, Great Tribulation, Millennium, New Jerusalem, and the glorious eternity with God.
Join the author as he explores the significance of Israel, how current events connect to prophecies in the Bible, how it will all end, and what we can surmise about Russia’s Final Destination.

INTRODUCTION
For decades I have received feedback from readers and theologians on the end of times and how Russia and Israel play a part in eschatology. This theme brings awareness and spiritual awakening, encouraging them to go even deeper into the knowledge of God, the Scriptures, and history. The book of Revelation is still shrouded in mystery, but the people of God want to know more, and this book will shine a light on many aspects of the apocalyptic era.
My interest in this book transcended the borders of Brazil. I have been studying and writing about Israel, Russia, and eschatology for many years. My first book, Israel, Gog, and the Antichrist, was first published in Brazil and then Portugal. It was translated to Spanish for the Latin community. It has been available to thousands of readers in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia for many decades. In all, millions of copies were distributed on all continents!
Over the years there has been much curiosity to find out who Gog is from the land of Magog, as described in the Bible. To emphasize this curiosity of the people, from 1708, if someone asked some Londoners who these characters were, they would have as an answer the two immense wooden statues erected by the government in London. These statues were immediately called Gog and Magog by the population, possibly because of their rough appearance (Webster’s New International Dictionary 1947).
When the Bible refers to these people, especially in Ezekiel and Revelation, it does not offer any praise. On the contrary, Holy Scripture says God himself will drag Gog and his allies with hooks and punish them on the mountains of Israel.
As the reader will discover by reading this book, Gog is the title the Bible gives to the leader of the Russian people, who has been involved since February 2022 in the invasion of Ukraine. Magog is the vast region stretching from Ukraine to China’s borders. In Old Testament times, this vast area was called Scythia because it was the land of the Scythians.
The second reason for the warm welcome of this theme is because it talks about Israel, a topic that is always passionate for anyone who studies biblical prophecies. The return of the Jews to their ancient land after nearly two thousand years of exile and countless sufferings; its extraordinary survival as a state; and its incredible development in all fields of science and production—despite so many wars suffered and constant and increasing international pressures and threats—are facts that every Christian must consider in the light of infallible biblical prophecy.
Jesus referred to these people when he said, I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened
(Matthew 24:34 New International Version).
History does not record a case like that of the Jews. Dozens of other nations in the same period have arisen and kept their characteristics for a time, but soon they were lost entirely in the great mass of humanity. The Jewish people, however, retain today in Asia, Europe, America, or any other part of the world, the same distinction they had three thousand years ago.
Israel withstood all the powers of persecution and all the influences that compelled its people to coalesce with other nations. Still, it remained faithful to his lineage as a descendant of Abraham. When Frederick the Great asked his chaplain for proof of the existence of God, the chaplain promptly replied, The Jewish people, Your Majesty!
Among these peculiar people, biblical prophecies of more than three thousand years are fulfilled today, many referring to the recent rebirth of Israel, the Arab-Israeli wars, and the role this new country would play among the nations in our time and the future.
That is why the words of Jesus in Luke 21:29–31 are so relevant:
Look at the fig tree and all the trees. You can see for yourselves when they sprout leaves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. (NIV)
Today, Israel is the fig tree that is sprouting. Planted in the most coveted region of the world, at the crossroads of three continents and next to the Middle East’s vast oil reserves and the Dead Sea’s incalculable mineral wealth, the State of Israel has been the target of attention and interests of many. Even great powers and powerful nations, such as the United States, China, and Russia, have revolved around this tiny country.
Israel is like a divine clock, showing us how far ahead we are in the race for the end of time. The miracles witnessed by that country are a sign that our God will manifest himself in the eyes of all nations when the great invasion of Palestine occurs, as prophesied.
This book is divided into Russia, Israel, and the End of Times. It is my earnest desire that the Lord bless this work. If, after reading these pages, the reader feels prompted by the Holy Spirit to live the gospel of Christ more fully, please do so. Then, recommend this book to your closest friends. This message will have fulfilled its noble purpose in this practice, and the author will feel fully rewarded.
FOREWORD
I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to write the foreword for Dr. DeAlmeida’s book, Russia’s Final Destination.
To the delight of ordinary pastors like myself, who often strive to study and teach the prophecies found in the Word of God, Dr. DeAlmeida gives us an efficient tool that distinctly explains the numerous complex intricacies of the doctrine of eschatology.
As he alludes to in this work, people long to know more, to deepen their understanding, and that is exactly what he delivers. Russia’s Final Destination is a thought-provoking book that every reader would benefit from.
His vast biblical and historical knowledge would be sufficient to captivate the reader as he relishes in its pages, but these were overshadowed by the discernment, revelation, and anointing that encompass the author’s aptitude like a cloud of wisdom, revealing not only the Lord’s ways but the Creator’s own glory.
As a hammer grinds a stone, as a worker strips cotton, the author, using simple speech, as if in conversation with a child, plunges us into deep revelations of God’s Word, so deep and so revealing that they delight the most modest of his students.
From the territorial conquests of the Cimmerians over Assyria to the borders of the Czech Republic, from Scythian civilization to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, from apocalyptic prophecies to the European Parliament, Dr. DeAlmeida has a remarkable ability to combine Old Testament predictive prophecy with its references and confirmations in the New Testament; linking them to their evidential fulfillment, not only in the twenty-first century but even our days, thereby highlighting the prophetic contemporaneity and faithfulness of God’s Word.
Therefore, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for using His vessel to build our souls and Dr. DeAlmeida for devoting his life to helping us deepen our knowledge and glorify God’s kingdom.
Upon reading Russia’s Final Destination, we realize God’s clock (Israel) is right on time, and his hand is fully active in our days. Soon he will carry out the final victory of the Lord Jesus Christ over his enemies and the enemies of his people.
This book will convert the unbeliever and will propel the believer to rely on the Word of God without fear of tomorrow.
In Christ,
Pastor Joel Freire Costa
PART 1
RUSSIA
You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.
—Ezekiel 38:9 (NIV, concerning Gog,
according to the prophet Ezekiel)
RUSSIA HAS BEEN A Communist country since 1917, isolated in northern Europe and initially without access to the Black Sea and its connections to the Mediterranean. Russia also suffers from a long and harsh winter, making it challenging to produce life-sustaining grain and other food sources for many months.
The book’s first part will present Russia’s history, its allies, its reasons for its invasion of Ukraine, and its destination from a biblical perspective.
It was precisely from 1957 onward that I was brainwashed by reading almost a score of Communist works. In 1958, I attended a secret Communist Party meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I lived. That meeting began around eight in the evening in a big house on a mountain. People started arriving singly around the afternoon to throw off the police. At that time, it was a crime to be a Communist.
Fortunately, in 1959, when I was doing my military service in the battalion attached to the Military Academy of the Black Needles, I experienced a dramatic conversion to Christ. I was in line at the cinema to see a good movie, but when I got to the window, I gave up on the film and started walking in a nearby park, telling myself that nothing was making sense to me. Why live? was the question that arose, demanding an answer. Then, suddenly, a song that I had heard as a child in a Bible class was reborn within me (Araujo 1968):
God loves me dearly, grants me salvation,
God loves me dearly, loves even me.
Refrain: Therefore, I’ll say again: God loves me dearly,
God loves me dearly, loves even me.
I was in slavery, sin, death, and darkness;
God’s love was working to make me free.
He sent forth Jesus, my dear Redeemer,
He sent forth Jesus and set me free.
Jesus, my Savior, himself did offer;
Jesus, my Savior, paid all I owed.
Now I will praise you; O Love eternal;
I will praise you all my life long.
It was already getting dark. I walked down the city’s main street, entered an evangelical temple, and sat near the door. The pastor told the story of the hymn I Need Jesus
to a group near the pulpit. It was all I needed to hear, and I cried a lot.
At the end of the meeting I left the temple like a new creation, relieved of all my sins. All the darkness of atheism and Communism disappeared from my life. A hunger for God was born in me. I am incredibly grateful for my dear mother’s prayers. Realizing the dangerous path I was taking with my life, she told me, I’m praying for you, Abraham.
And indeed, she prayed.
Since that day, I have never left the Christian faith. I have become an ambassador of the Bible, studying and teaching its truth to everyone with ears to hear. Because of my background as a Communist following the doctrines of Marx in the USSR, I felt compelled to expose the biblical truths about Communism and Russia’s intent on finding its way into the Black Sea and, ultimately, Israel. It is currently invading Ukraine, a move made more accessible without the US’s presence in Afghanistan.

RUSSIA AND ITS ALLIES
Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
—Ezekiel 39:1 (NIV)
ONE OF THE GREAT paradoxes of the twentieth century was, without a doubt, Russia’s attitude of striving, like no other nation, in favor of the interests of the people of Israel. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, delegates from the then Soviet Union, in feverish activity, convinced as many countries as possible to vote in favor of the creation of the Jewish state in Palestine.
Thanks in large part to the support of Russia, Israel was born as a country on November 29, 1947, by UN deliberation, through a vote in favor of thirty-three to thirteen. The Brazilian chancellor, Osvaldo Aranha, presided over the General Assembly.
The creation of the State of Israel fulfilled a prophecy of Isaiah, which says
Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever done such things? Can a country
