I must admit it has been an exciting, history-filled life. From the Great Depression of the 1930’s, WW II, my combat service in the Korean War, Vietnam, the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the amazing technological breakthroughs, McCarthy times, the Kennedys, Nixon, the Clintons, the Bushes, 9/11, the turmoil with Russia and the Ukraine, the pandemic, the travails of Donald Trump and “January 6” have all contributed to the drama of living. Some of the most rewarding events of those years was watching grandson, Adam Cook, the subject of this book, grow into a man determined to be of value to the community. This book depicts one day of his boyhood.

Ruth Wittmayer, a consummate artist, was awarded a Master of Photography and recognized as a Master Craftsman by the prestigious Professional Photographers of America for her renowned photography. Her striking, impressionistic images and her floral portraits have been viewed throughout the US and Canada. Not a cartoonist, she nonetheless imagined and drew the characters in the book with humor and joy. She was a special person and we miss her. Arnie Silverman who recently published an account of his combat experience in the Korean War along with other stories (“My War And Stories of Another Era”), enjoyed a successful career in mainframe and mini computer hardware and software sales. Commencing his career when all application software had to be custom-made, he witnessed and participated in the explosive growth of that industry. Now retired, he is active as a lifetime member of the VFW in assisting troubled veterans. He lives with his beloved wife of 67-years, Myrna, and enjoys his family of accomplished children and grand children.
