Chapter One: Assessing the Battlefield

We must recognize the presence of real spiritual battles. To effectively combat them, it's crucial to first understand the terrain of these confrontations.

The daily news continually highlights the growing threat of global terrorism.

Alarmingly, over the years, more babies have been aborted in America than people killed in all of history’s wars.

On average, 2,260 babies are aborted daily in the United States.

About 58,200 children are abducted annually in the U.S.

Over a million young individuals are subjected to sexual exploitation in the form of molestation, filming, or photography in the U.S., fueling a burgeoning underground market.

Shockingly, in 9 out of 10 child sexual abuse cases, the perpetrator is someone close to the child, often a family member.

Since 1980, there's been a 250% increase in unwed mothers. The number of teen births out of wedlock rose from 199,350 in 1970 to 394,370 in 2007.

Every fifteenth high school student reportedly uses marijuana almost daily. And the average age when children start drinking alcohol is just 14.

Today, nearly 50% of all marriages end in divorce, with a third of U.S. households being single-parent families.

These are merely glimpses into the myriad challenges we face. While some remain optimistic about the future, one must question if, and when, conditions will genuinely improve.

The Word of God offers insights: 2 Timothy 3:13 elucidates how evil and deceit will only continue to grow. 2 Timothy 3:1-4 foretells the grave challenges in the last days.

Regrettably, over recent years, secular influences have outpaced religious ones. Within 200 years after Jesus' ascension, His disciples had reached the known world with Christianity's teachings. In stark contrast, today's statistics indicate a dwindling number of genuine disciples.

As the global population grows, especially in non-Christian countries, North America's population remains stagnant due to factors like birth control, cohabitation, increased same-sex relationships, and abortions. With an estimated 80 million people added yearly to the world's population—many unsaved and unreached—the Church's task is monumental. Yet, retreat isn't the answer.

Jesus proclaimed, Ye are the light of the world... (Matthew 5:14). And scriptures affirm our capability to overcome, with passages like 1 John 4:4 and Romans 8:37 emphasizing our potential through God.

God intends for us to prevail! We must reclaim the world in the name of Jesus Christ. For this to happen, a profound change must occur within us.

Today, the Church and individual Christians face challenges unparalleled in history. But history has shown that moments of crisis often bring about significant revelations of God's power.

Yet, these revelations aren't handed over easily. It requires dedication, prayer, and genuine desire. Trusting the Holy Spirit is key. What might seem daunting can be a gateway to profound blessings.

Now, you stand before such a threshold. Power and victory await on the other side.

We've had a spiritual awakening in our
