The Preliminaries: Showing the Foundation of the Dharma
If you wish to meditate on this practice of mind training in a single session, begin with the preliminary teachings. The place where you practise should be very clean and arrayed with beautiful offerings if you have them. Seated comfortably on a cushion, recite the Seven Branch Prayer well, then train in the motivations common to the greater and lesser vehicles.
