      It’s not even December, and I can hardly believe it, but I’m sailing into the Christmas season with all my gifts bought and wrapped! The house is fully decorated—I’m talking magazine-worthy—and the pantry is stocked with ingredients to make homemade treats for all my friends and family.

      You’re right. I’m totally joking. That would be the Shellie of my dreams.

      I’m actually reminding myself to take a deep breath and consider what I already know. If I make these holy days about any of those things, I’ll miss the joy of the celebration. I’ll need to make an intentional decision to place my brown eyes on Jesus—Immanuel, God with Us. And because this has been my goal for several years now, I know something else. I’ll need to make that choice more than once during the holiday as the commercialism builds.

      Can you relate? Do you want to live Christmas instead of doing Christmas? Join me, and let’s walk through Advent, together. Jesus is worthy.
