He had decided long ago life was a talk show, and that he was the host. Somehow along the way, Johnny Dave gathered a crew that believed it to be so, and together they took the show on the road.

After a particularly great show in Detroit, it was put on hiatus, and they all got a well-deserved rest at the local sanitarium.

There, late one night, the show was revived when a special guest showed up unexpectedly in Johnny's room.

The call went out and soon a sleepy crew gathered and the show began.

Live in 3...2...cue music, and intro, Henley the director intoned, as he turned his attention and went on to expertly manipulate the applause and laugh track machine.

Chuck the music guy held the harmonica with his teeth as he tapped his feet and drummed on anything he could reach with his hands. He really was a musical genius and he never failed to set the mood, even if sometimes he was just knocking rocks together.

It's the Johnny Dave and Eddie Show! Starring coincidentally enough, Johnny Dave and Eddie, the announcer Betty Joe proclaimed, completely over the top. With a special guest tonight, Gabriel. Featuring Chuck and his musical earlobes. Brought to you by, and from, -Sam's Sanitarium- 'Find Yourself Here'- oh my God what a terrible slogan- please take it away Johnny Dave.

Welcome to the show folks! Thanks Chuck, as always inspired, and inspiring, Johnny said happily. But Betty Joe, what did I tell you about drinking cough syrup before the show? That was for the after-show party. Seriously though, did you save any for the rest of us? Anyway, it's good to be back.

You got that right! Johnny Dave's sidekick Eddie shouted out. I have been going crazy, but at least I didn't have to go alone, huh Johnny?
