About this ebook

Melissa Leapman is back with a brand new collection of InstaKnitsjust for baby!

In the original InstaKnits she delivered a variety of quick-to-knit, Instagram-worthy patterns for adults, but what about all of the adorable knits for babies? In InstaKnits for Baby she has designed blankets, sweaters, hats, booties, toys, and more in bright pops of color--perfect for any new baby's close-up!

Patterns are organized in sections by the time it takes to knit them, from less than five hours to just over 20 hours, so you can plan your knitting accordingly and know that your gift will be ready when baby arrives. There are 30 patterns in all, sized from newborn to 24 months. Baby shower this weekend? Better stick with a Pixie Hat, Stuffed Froggy, or something else from the "less than five hours" chapter. Have a month or two? Then you've got time for the Sunny Topper, Giraffe Blanket, or Koala Lovey. Insta-Knits for Baby is sure to become your favorite resource for all those last-minute baby gift ideas!

    INTRODUCTION

If you’re like me, your life is overloaded with work, family, and social obligations, without enough hours in the day to fit everything in. (No wonder I never seem to make it to the gym!) When I do find a way to squeeze in a few precious hours of knitting, another baby shower or birthday party invite arrives. (Goodbye, personal knitting!)

Here’s the book we all need: a collection of 30 fresh, easy-to-knit, and social media-worthy projects for the adorable littles in our lives, from newborns to 24 months of age. Even more exciting, nearly half of them take less than five hours to stitch. (Talk about Insta-knitting!)

To make the book easy to use, the projects are arranged in chapters based on the time commitment needed to finish them.

Do you carpool to swim meets or soccer practice? Good! You can make use of that waiting time and knit the plush beach ball on page 26 in just one sitting.

Have you promised yourself one afternoon every weekend to spend on your craft? You can whip out the sweet, stuffed bunny on page 67 before dinner!

Does your family binge-watch Netflix on long holiday weekends? Turn them into your personal stitching time! You can crank out the toasty All Heart Blanket on page 112 by the opener of Season 3.

You can tackle most of these designs using only basic knitting skills, but if something looks unfamiliar, refer to the handy Resources section in the back of the book. Photos demonstrate nearly every technique from the cast-on to the bind-off and all the fun stuff in between.

Once you have finished a project, I’d love to see it! Please use #InstaKnitsForBaby and the individual hashtag shown on the project page on your social media and tag me. I’ll gladly share it. Who knows, maybe your post (with your beautiful Little One modeling, of course) will go viral! (Hello, Hollywood scouts!)
