    HAPPY? - Deanna Kniola

    Preface

I AM Deanna Marie Kniola, born during the racial riots of 1967 in the heart of good ol’ Detroit, Michigan. I emerged just as the lotus does every morning.

Every day is a gift, that is why we refer to it as the ‘present’…or as a present. It depends on how you view your life. I hope this book will allow you to figure that out for yourself.

The 1967 Detroit Riots were among U.S. history’s most violent and destructive riots. Five days after the bloodshed, burning, and looting ended, 43 people died, 342 were injured, nearly 1,400 buildings burned, and some 7,000 National Guard and U.S. Army troops were called into service.

(Much gratitude to History.com, where you can find the entire article.)

Jumping to 2018, a man appeared in my office (at the time, he was my spirit guide), seeking a new banking relationship for his business, or so I was to believe at that time. He later told me that I had summoned him to guide me to the next phase of my journey.

You see, there comes the point in everyone’s life where we hope there is more…but more of what? We don’t know because we simply don’t know what we don’t know. It is what it is. We know what we know, and we don’t know what we don’t know. Is it that simple? It could be, but why does it feel so harrowing?

Some people, at this point, accept their lives just where they are. Some people get frustrated with any change, which leads them to eventually let it go and try to live and be happy just the way they are.

Then some people yearn for more. They hope there is more to their lives and start searching for something different. Something that allows them to feel emotions again. Something new, exciting, adventurous, ALIVE! I believe that this is what we all refer to as a mid-life crisis. My searching (and my mid-life crisis) guided me to Gratitude Training. My spirit guide had directed me to look into it, and I did. I am so grateful for that.

He inspired me enough that I enrolled in Gratitude Training I. I will never forget the caption on their website when I looked them up -

IF YOU COULD NOT FAIL, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I sat and pondered that saying. Honestly, it was more like that phrase hit me in the kisser with a powerful left hook. WHAM! It shook me to my core! Think about that, IF YOU COULD NOT FAIL, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Really think about that. Let it marinate in your solar plexus chakra, as Deepak would say. Or, with your inner being, as Abraham Hicks would refer to, your higher consciousness, as your other spiritual leaders would say. Once this marinates within you, ask yourself, If my answer is different than what I am currently doing, WHY? If you could not fail, why are you not doing what you passionately want to do?

IS IT FEAR? FINANCES? IS A RELATIONSHIP HOLDING YOU BACK? LACK OF WORTHINESS? INSECURITY? DOUBT? FAMILY? No, my friend, it’s

    YOU!

    INTRODUCTION

    Present Moment

Today, my friend, I hope you feel happy and well-rested. Before we get into being happy or choosing to be satisfied, I would first like to discuss empowerment, or in other words, taking control of your own life, because I want you to become the Emperor/Empress of your throne.

Throughout history, men and women have attempted to develop their spiritual sides. According to Buddhist thought, the mind is like a mirror that we must constantly polish to keep clean and clear. If we don’t, we won’t be able to perceive our true selves clearly; hence we won’t be able to comprehend the circumstances of our existence. The intellect is the essential instrument in the Universe, and the body is only a means of transportation. The imagination formed this entire Cosmos.

You won’t be able to change the world unless you master your thoughts. Understanding how the mind works, how thoughts arise, and how they are destroyed
