About this ebook

Translators’ Note
The author of The Black Arrow has lived most of his life in Guantánamo—the city and provincial capital in Eastern Cuba, nine hundred miles from Havana and twenty from the infamous Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay. It is a place separated from much of Cuba by distance, difficult transport, and the political and cultural dominance of the faraway capital city. The city of Guantánamo is also separated from the Naval Station by
