Burn Bright
The ball is up and the game's begun,
The court is hot as the players run.
The sound of sneakers on the floor,
The rhythm of the game, the crowd's roar.
The ball is passed from hand to hand,
Each player striving for the upper hand.
The shot is up, the crowd holds its breath,
The ball goes in, and there's nothing left.
The game goes on, the clock ticks down,
The players push themselves, they won't back down.
The final buzzer sounds, the game is won,
The players celebrate, their victory's done.
And though the game may end tonight,
Their love for basketball will always burn bright.
For it's more than just a game, you see,
It's a passion, a way of life, a destiny.
So here's to basketball, the game we love,
To the players, the fans, and the courts above.
May it bring us joy, may it bring us peace,
And may it never, ever cease.
