In the annals of conflict, many tales of bravery, resilience, and sacrifice enlighten and inspire the human spirit. These stories emerge from the shadows of war, bearing witness to the triumphs and tragedies that shape our world. It is within this backdrop that I invite you to join me on a remarkable journey—a journey that transcends time and space, connecting the war-ravaged lands of Bosnia in the early 1990s to the battle-scarred landscapes of Ukraine starting in 2014 and onwards.

In these pages, I share my unusual experiences as a team leader sent to Ukraine in March 2014 by a global organization once regarded as a surrogate for an international peacekeeping mission. The conflict that engulfed Ukraine during those turbulent times was far from a distant spectacle for me. Having served as a war veteran during the brutal war against Bosnia from April 1992 to December 1995, the echoes of battle resonated within my being. The scars I bore, both physical and emotional, compelled me to step forward once again, offer my expertise, and confront the traumatic realities of war.
