How to Fall Out of Love
Sing My Life Alive
Parts of my mind are blocked by cobwebs. I haven’t visited them for years. I keep the ones with Scar and me covered because I’m afraid if I start thinking and living in them again, they’ll get stolen from me, and I’ll be left with bare hands. Love lends you strength without ultimatums. It gives you a hand in the darkest of places.

ENTER INTO THE AUTHOR’S LIFE
This is my story, my life, which I told in a way that is fictitious yet factual. It is constructed from my insides. The words were living in me until I brought them to life, for the first time, on these pages. Welcome to the birth of this new world.
I will not follow those rules to get this story to you. It is too dire, and I have to do this quickly. There’s nothing normal about this story, so why convert to normalcy? For what reason? To be proper? This is anything but proper.
This story is based on my future and even your future. This is going to happen to me and to you, maybe just in different ways. This story came from my veins—the ones that run straight to my heart.

Enter the Story
This is a story about a boy and a girl—a cliché but true. Her name is Scar, and his name is Kid; well, at least that’s what Scar calls him. The story is about the girl. The boy is the narrator. So let me say, Hi. Nice to meet you. My name is Kid.
I hope that some part of this story relates to the part of your life that’s struggling because this story and one girl saved my life. In addition, I hope it can do the same for you.
GettyImages-1221428574.jpgI was just a musician before all of this flowed like a million waves crashing down onto my shore. I am pulled down into the cycle of those waves, drowning. My eyes open under the water, seeing the girl who is as mysterious as a mermaid. I watch her get pushed out to sea, away from me. Now my eyes are all red from the salt of that sea, or maybe they are just red from crying. But before we get to that, I’ll let you see how my life was before all of this happened and I was made into the person I am today.
MONSTER INTO A MAN
GettyImages-1221428574.jpgWhy can’t you love me?
Steph screamed at me as I was walking away from her.
"What is love, Steph? I can’t just get stapled down to one person. I’m seventeen years old. I want to be free. I want my music to get out there. I can’t travel with a wife. That’s not the life for me."
Then why did you pull me into this? You knew I would come right along and do whatever you wanted me to. Fuck you! Your little rock star dream is going to drag you to hell—you and all those other girls you’re gonna carry along with you.
I don’t care. Steph, did you know that? I don’t care. Drugs, sex, rock and roll, and more sex and drugs; that’s my life. Music is the only thing I’m good at. I can’t love you. I can barely love myself.
You know what? I knew you were like this from the very first time I saw you. I thought I could change you and that I maybe was the girl who could turn a monster into a man. And you knew that I was a slut. I wouldn’t stay with a guy for two nights in a row. I hope that one day, you change, even if it’s just a little. Maybe I’m not the right girl. Maybe I’m strong. I can’t wait to see, Cash. I really can’t. You know I will always love ya.
She kissed me on the cheek and left.
I felt lonely and empty, like no matter how much I filled myself with whatever I could grab and pull into me, there was a hole at the bottom of the cup, and it just kept pouring out. At that time,
