You Will Need:
3.5mm knitting needles
2 × 50g balls black yarn
1 × 25g ball pale yellow yarn
1 × 25g ball silver yarn , Patons Diploma Gold DK Black (06183), Patons Fab DK Lemon (02330) and Rowan Shimmer Silver (092)
Black felt
Leftover fabric for inner bag
Clean sand
1. For the inner bag, cut six pieces from your fabric leftovers each measuring 15cm (6in) square. Pin four pieces right sides together in a row; machine stitch. Attach the fifth piece to make the bag bottom. Attach the top panel but leave the last edge unstitched. Turn through. and fill with clean sand; hand stitch the final edge closed.
2. Cast on 25sts and working in garter stitch, knit squares measuring 15cm (6in). Knit four in black and two in pale yellow yarn.
3. Sew the knitted panels together with black yarn, inserting the weighted bag before stitching closed. Cast on 12sts using black yarn and work in garter stitch a 15cm (6in) long strap. Cut a piece of black felt to the same size and sew the two together using a blanket stitch and black yarn.
4. Following the pattern below, knit and attach three stars:
With the pale yellow and silver yarns held together, cast on 55sts.
Knit one row.
