    Dear reader,

    I am writing to you as the author of this book, which I have published under the pseudonym James B. W. Bevis. By using a pen name, I aim to shift the focus away from myself and onto the book's topic. The name James B. W. Bevis is taken from a character in The Twilight Zone episode called A Nice Place to Visit, who serves as a cautionary tale about the perils of living a life without challenges.

    The book I have written addresses a critical issue: the wealthiest, most powerful, and well-connected individuals in America are creating gun policies that pose a threat to the lives of ordinary citizens.
