Her Bear Obsession - Clara Dixon

    Chapter 1

Ilooked around the house at the pure chaos. The house was rammed with visitors, friends and family. I wasn’t sure what I was doing here,

Have you seen Christen? I ask, rubbing the back of my neck. I had no idea who would hear me, but I am becoming desperate. I needed a drink, and I needed someone to tell me who all the people were. House parties often became a mess. God knows how much mess there would be after.

Kate! a voice bellowed somewhere from behind me.

I spun around, just in time to see a hand waving frantically in the air above half a dozen heads.

Christen! Thank goodness! How many people did you invite?

I only invited around ten people, she said with a frown. I have no idea who the rest of these people are. They all seem to have invited five of their own people per person.

A shadow passes over the stair way. My eyes widened. I think someone just went upstairs, and they wasn’t alone.

Christen gasped in horror! No, no, no! she cried out. I just put new sheets on!

Come on! I laugh. I’d deal with them, you get the rest of the people who wasn’t invited, out of here.

I’ll try. But things might get ugly.

I had no doubt, and I was willing to bet that the ring leaders would leave with their friends, essentially ending the party. Or, so I thought.

As usual, things didn’t go to plan.

I made my way up the stairs, pushing past people I didn’t know. Some were making out. Some were drinking. A couple of people were smoking and hangnig out of the hallway window.

Come on folks, you’re blocking the way!

They grumbled and glanced in my direction before moving over to one side.

Fucking morons, I say, muttering under my breath. I finally make it to the top, and go straight into the bedroom. I push the door open, an displaced my hands on my hips. You realise, I say with intent, If this had been the house of three bears, you would be ripped apart and eaten, right?

Wh- what? the man gasped, looking back at my sheepishly.

What? Oh, let me make this clearer. In the story of the three bears, you heard of that one right?

He nodded, looking at me confused.

Right. So, in this version, I’m the three bears—and you’re laying naked on my best friend’s bed. So, remove yourself or you’ll be the one getting eaten!

    You wouldn’t. he scoffed.

No? I took a step forward. I’m gonna start with your dick—but, it won’t make much of a meal.

He covered up and raced out of the room, I couldn’t help but laugh. The woman he left behind adjusted her dress, blushing. You need to watch who you give yourself to, I told her with a smirk. You’re the third person he brought up here.

    Third?! she screamed, looking mortified.

I nodded, though I neglected to tell her that the other two were men. I cackled as I made my way back down the stairs.

Christie looked at me, looking confused and flustered.

    What did you do?!

    What? I asked innocently.

A guy just rushed past me, with his dick in his hands.

I cracked up laughing. Yeah, I doubt it was both hands.

She shook her head at me. You’re so cruel.

I shrugged. I got them out of your bed, didn’t I?

Just as I was about to go and make  myself a drink in the kitchen, the door bell rang. By this point, I was so sick of hearing the ‘ding dong’ I was getting ready to rip it from the wall. I winced, as the doorbell rang again. All right! I called out, hurrying to open it before the button is pressed again. Christie rushed forward, pushing past me to open it. I know who it is! she cheered, squealing as the door burst open.

I rolled my eyes, and turned back to head towards the kitchen. I was starting to sober up and needed a drink fast.

In the kitchen, the empty glasses sat on the kitchen unit, and the bottles of alcohol stood with their backs against the wall. I reached out for the nearest bottle of whisky, and poured myself half a glass and topped it up with some coke zero.

I turn around and found myself facing another three guests. Two of which I was more than familiar with, though not personally. Adam and William, who had been seen on a lot of Christie’s pictures over the recent weeks. Other than that, I wasn’t certain who they were.

Good evening, I said, greeting them with a smile. Welcome to the chaos.

Evening. Is there much going on?

I shrugged, scanning the two men in front of me. Adam was tall, with curly brown hair, dressed in a casual grey shirt and black jeans. He was medium built, and stood quite stiffly, giving him an air of discomfort. His friend, William, was more nerdy looking. He had round thin-rimmed glasses, black swept back hair and had freckles across his face. He was a little shorter, reaching only Adam’s shoulders, and was wearing black trousers with a stripey black and white shirt. Neither of them looked old enough to be there, despite being almost twenty four years old; two years younger than myself.

What the hell is going on here?

The booming voice startles me, causing me to fall off my chair, and spill my drink.

I cuss, grabbing a damp cloth from the sink. What a waste.

I went to refill my glass, only to find it empty. I groaned. This party was becoming somewhat of a disaster.

Christie! I call out at the top of my lungs. This guy is asking a question, and I need more rum!

Christie hurries over, looking flustered. Mark, what are you doing here?

Mark, a short stouty man, glared at her. I was going to ask you the same thing. What the hell?

I live here, you moron. Now, what do you want?

    He frowned. Since when?

She arched an eyebrow. Since I bought it. Still waiting for you to answer the question. What the heck are you doing here?

He took a step back. I was just in the neighbourhood, and saw that this place was packed. What is going on?

She rolled her eyes. Bullshit, she commented. You were seeing if I moved out. Well, I didn’t. I bought the place, and this is my housewarming party.

    Housewarming. That makes a change.

She stepped forward. I watched, bouncing my head from one person to the other, drinking a glass of vodka-the only drink they had left.

You know what I mean. You’er not the warmest person, and you’re always in a foul mood. The house warming will cool to a chill when the others leave.

She raised her eyebrows. At this
