    Earth's Enigmas - Rohan Aggarwal

Snow in Mexico? No, It's Just a Giant Saltshaker

In January 2014, a mysterious white crater was discovered in Mexico that puzzled investigators and intrigued scientists. This strange phenomenon sparked a journey that took investigators from the deserts of Mars to the birth of one of the greatest civilizations on earth. The crater was not only intriguing because of its size and shape but also because of the white colour that looked like ice, which stayed there all year round, a phenomenon rarely seen in Mexico.

The mystery white crater is one of a cluster known as the seven luminaries, which, when viewed from above, mirrored the Ursa Major constellation. To NASA's Kasha Patel, this extra-terrestrial connection may be more than just coincidence. She notes that the crater looks very similar to the Korolev crater on Mars. The Korolev crater in the northern lowlands of Mars contains enough water ice to fill almost a billion Olympic swimming pools. Most of the ice found elsewhere on Mars is mixed with frozen carbon dioxide, but it appears that the icy regions in the Korolev crater are composed of more pure water. The crater is named after visionary rocket scientist Sergei Korolev, who during the Cold War helped the Soviets to outsmart NASA by landing the first spacecraft on the moon. In a twist of fate, the space agency hopes his legacy will be key to the future human colonization of Mars.

Ice is a precious commodity for humans, and it can also be used as rocket fuel. If hydrogen and oxygen can be made on Mars, it would be possible to fill a rocket for a one-way trip and then gas up on the other end to fly back to Earth. What stops the ice from melting during Mars's 70-degree Fahrenheit daytime temperatures is a process called cold trapping. Cold air goes into the crater and forms an insulating layer. Any water that gets trapped there as water ice does not melt.

The same process might be seen in action in the mystery white crater. However, the Earth's atmosphere is 100 times thicker than on Mars, creating swirling winds that prevent cold trapping from taking place in Mexico. According to those who live nearby, the crater once contained water, but it was bleach-like and killed everything it touched. To geologists, this suggests the mystery white substance is the legacy of a catastrophically powerful volcanic event. This means that the water inside this crater is extremely alkaline, and it is most likely sodium bicarbonate. The crater has all the classic features of a maar volcano. Maar volcanoes are formed by phreatic eruptions, which are known as the nuclear bombs of the natural world. The more volcano occurs when shallow magma intrudes into an area that has a lot of groundwater. It creates an amazing amount of energy, vaporizes the water, and creates a steam explosion. After the explosion, water fills the bottom of the crater. Sometimes, volcanic gases still seep in, and this highly alkaline volcanic soup forms.

Over time, the ground around the crater dries out, concentrating the volcanic soup into a chemical sludge. As that water evaporates, it concentrates further, forming large fields of crystals that we see in the image. Scientists have recently discovered that the crater's floor is covered with a cyanobacteria called spirulina. Spirulina is a very simple organism, but over history, it has been considered a superfood. The Aztecs used it as one of their primary food sources, harvesting large quantities of it. They considered it the food of the gods. Around 100,000 years after it devastated this part of Mexico, this strange white crater may have helped give rise to one of the greatest civilizations in history. It is almost like a museum of the Earth's earliest prehistory.

The Truth About the Bermuda Triangle: It's Just a Really Bad Wi-Fi Zone

The Bermuda Triangle has long been a mystery, with many reported cases of ships and planes disappearing without a trace. Over the years, several theories have been put forward to explain the phenomenon, ranging from human error and piracy to natural disasters and paranormal activity. However, none of these explanations have been able to fully account for the high number of incidents that have occurred in the area.

Recently, scientists have made a fascinating discovery that could provide an explanation for the strange occurrences in the Bermuda Triangle. Using satellite imagery, researchers have identified a series of hexagonal shaped clouds over the Bahamas, which is in the western tip of the Bermuda Triangle. These clouds are not typical, as clouds are usually random in their distribution, and do not exhibit straight edges. The hexagons range in size from 20 to 55 miles across, and scientists have found similar cloud formations in the turbulent North Sea off the coast of the United Kingdom.

Satellite imagery from the n VSAT MP Sat also shows that the hexagonal clouds are linked to powerful winds recorded by radar, with sea level winds of almost a hundred miles an hour. This wind speed is at the top of the Beaufort scale and is powerful enough to generate waves over 45 feet high. The hexagonal clouds are believed to be air bombs or microburst air blasts of air that come down out of the bottom of the clouds and then hit the ocean, creating massive waves that can sometimes be deadly.

The blast from an air bomb or microburst spreads outwards at speeds of up to 170 miles per hour, which is more than sufficient to tear down trees on land or flip ships on water. Scientists believe that these air bombs or microbursts are responsible for the disappearance of ships and planes in the Bermuda Triangle. This theory could explain how the lost squadron of 45 was knocked out of the sky, and how the SS Cyclops vanished without a trace.

Meteorologist Randy Cerveny believes that the hexagonal clouds are connected to a terrifying atmospheric phenomenon. He explains that these types of hexagonal shapes of the ocean are, in essence, air bombs. They're formed by what are called microburst air blasts of air that come down out of the bottom of the clouds and then hit the ocean and then create waves that can sometimes be massive in size as they start to interact with each other.

The discovery of the hexagonal clouds over the Bahamas and the North Sea is a significant breakthrough in our understanding of the Bermuda Triangle. Scientists are now scanning the area for further signs of these strange clouds using satellite imagery. They hope that by studying these clouds, they will be able to gain a better understanding of the atmospheric conditions that cause them and the potential dangers they pose to ships and planes in the area.

The use of satellites in this research is also noteworthy. Satellites play a vital role in monitoring weather patterns and detecting potential threats to human life. In the case of the Bermuda Triangle, satellites have helped scientists identify the hexagonal clouds and the potentially deadly air bombs they are associated with. Satellites are an essential tool in modern science and technology, and their contribution to our understanding of the natural world cannot be overstated.

In conclusion, the discovery of hexagonal clouds over the Bahamas and the North Sea could provide an explanation for the strange occurrences in the Bermuda Triangle. Scientists believe that these clouds are linked to air bombs or microbursts, which can create massive waves that are powerful enough to sink ships and planes. The use of satellite imagery has played a crucial role in this research, and scientists are now using this technology to scan the area for further signs of these strange clouds. The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle is far from solved, but this latest discovery is a significant step forward in our understanding of this enigmatic phenomenon.

The Alien Disco: What Is This Giant Glowing Vortex Doing in Our Ocean?

On December 26th, 2011 , NASA's Terra satellite captured an image of a mysterious giant glowing vortex in the South Atlantic Ocean. The image showed what appeared to be a massive whirlpool of glowing blue light, which stretched for around a hundred miles, the size of an entire state. The satellite captured this strange phenomenon 500 miles off the coast of South Africa, leaving scientists puzzled as to what could have caused it.

The vortex was unlike anything that had been seen before, and its sheer size was astounding. Analysts were left with many questions, including what could have caused this massive vortex to appear, and why was it glowing blue? One possible explanation is that the vortex had sucked up millions of phytoplankton, which emit a bright blue light. However, this theory remains unproven, and scientists continue to study the phenomenon to understand its origin.

Phytoplankton is an essential component of the ocean's ecosystem, and they play a vital role in the food chain. These tiny organisms are responsible for generating more than half of the Earth's oxygen and help absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. They are also responsible for creating bioluminescent displays that light up the ocean with a bright blue light at night.

The glowing blue vortex captured by NASA's Terra satellite could have been created by an earthquake on the ocean floor, like the one that took place in 2011 off the coast of Japan. The magnitude 9 earthquake created one of the biggest tsunamis ever recorded, which resulted in waves 130 feet high, pummelling Japan's mainland and creating deadly whirlpools along the coast. However, no earthquake was recorded off the coast of South Africa at the time the vortex was captured on camera.

The vortex was estimated to be a hundred miles in size, and its scale was beyond anything that had been seen before. The mystery of the blue vortex remained unsolved, and scientists were left with no clear explanation as to what could have caused it. One theory is that the vortex was created by powerful underwater currents that were swirling in the ocean.

The South Atlantic Ocean is known for its powerful currents, and the
