About this book:
I confess that for years I tried to find a powerful reason that would justify my disconsolation at always having to bear such a burden as my own life represented.
I asked myself over and over again how it was that someone without my consent could force me to carry a cross of anguished living without having the slightest possibility of refuting the inclement design.
As I began to write this book, I realized that everything I had lived through had no other reason than to be able to tell my personal story of self-improvement and to offer my teachings as life lessons for others.
What I intend here is to tell you a life story full of difficulties and how I was able to overcome each obstacle until I reached wellness.
If I did it, you too can create your future and fulfill your dreams. Do you want to know how I did it?

PART I:
THE FIRST YEARS OF MY LIFE
MEMORIES OF A LITTLE GIRL
Despite the passing of the years, my first experiences, for some reason, are still in there marked by fire in my mind and heart and I need to make a catharsis to heal my soul.
In no way, it is an easy task to remove the past when life was very adverse and full of unpleasant situations, especially if we talk about those that occurred during childhood and adolescence.
This is a life story about a person who, with great effort, was able to overcome every obstacle with fortitude and courage in order to achieve all her dreams.
Although the events related are based on my personal story, all the names of the characters are fictitious.
It is a very sad story during the first years, but in no way do I want the readers to feel sorry for me, rather what I want is to be able to snatch a smile mixed with a tear every now and then.

Breathing deeply and plucking up courage, I try to look into those early years of my walk through this world and I confess that I must make an enormous effort to remember my childhood as if it were another life, very different and far away from the one of these days.
In my memory, my first years were spent in an inhospitable area located in the center of a province in Argentina, a very wild place since it was large extensions of countryside that were being deforested to take advantage of the development of agriculture and livestock.
Our days were uneventful except for some extraordinary event that consisted mostly in the encounter with other unknown beings since the visits were very exceptional and the trips to the nearest town to buy groceries occurred about once a fortnight.
When we needed to go to town, we used to tie a tame horse to the sulky[1] and after a ride of more than an hour we would arrive at a pulperia"[2] lost in the middle of nowhere, some small hamlet or one of the sleepy villages stopped in time located in the immense plain.
To do the farm work my father used to send Paco, my older brother, to saddle an old horse to which he had to chase him for a long time before letting him tie up, and after several rounds and turns the cunning and crafty animal would gallop towards my brother to snatch his hat with a sure bite.
One of my most distant memories of my whole existence that I can rescue in my memory is that day when my mother told me Malena, we will go to town to buy you a bigger crib since the one I had inherited from my brothers was too small and was a bit rusty and rickety.
All I remember is that I was only two and a half years old when we went to town with my mother and Heidi, my older sister, to get a bigger and more comfortable bed.
As always, my mother tucked us in, put a hat over our somewhat tangled hair and covered us with a blanket because even though we were not going very fast it was still cold and our noses, ears and hands were always freezing.
We arrived at a village lost in the mud, whose road had to be traveled through a chañares[3] forest and hawthorns, besides the innumerable wells that endangered the integrity of our means of transportation.
We peeked into one of the village's stores, whose owners were in an old house located on the corner, when, perplexed, I saw two wooden cradles on display.
Finally, I thought I would be able to sleep a little more comfortably as the one I was sleeping in was a very small wrought iron one with several loose metal slats that sometimes pierced the thin wool mattress.
I remember as if it were today that the one that had the greatest impact on me was a bright yellow graffiti with a sticker on the headboard and another on the foot rail.
One of the stickers was of a little pig inside a
