Sincerely, Faith and Other Stories

About this ebook
Sincerely, Faith and Other Stories gazes into the lives of four individuals as their lives reach a disruptive change, for better or worse. Good and bad are not so easily defined in these tales of lonely lives and grief.
"A Father's Love," tells the story of new father, Carver, in the midst of a mental breakdown. This story serves as a harsh reminder that life can take as much joy as it gives, and grief looks different for everyone.
Follow the all-too-serious Parker Henderson in "Golden Child" when their mother, the mayor, asks them to return a lost watch to an unknown owner. With a mind to please and their family's reputation to uphold, Parker will do anything to make their mother proud.
In "Sincerely, Faith," a teenager named Faith writes yearly letters to God during her summers at bible camp, documenting her hopes, fears, and memories. But when she discovers a piece of herself that doesn't align with her beliefs, she must question everything she knows to decide what's worth holding onto. Her morals or her identity.
"The Value of a Name" is an eerie take on the 20th-century sitcom that follows an ordinary housewife as she gains sentience in the middle of an episode. Desperately trapped in a life she doesn't want, she must be willing to do anything to see herself free.

Sincerely, Faith and Other Stories - Gabbi Harrington
A Fathers Love
Carver slipped the little diamond ring on the sleeping figure before him. The nurses removed it during delivery, but she’d be happier with it returned. He took care not to wake the blanket-wrapped infant, who had been so prone to crying the hour before.
The infant had fallen asleep in such a precious place, suckling his mother’s breast.
You’re so beautiful,
Carver said in a whisper, a finger brushing against the infant’s cheek. The spitting image of your mommy, I just know it.
Carver brushed a loose lock of hair from the exhausted mother’s face, and the rest of their lives played out before him.
Once an infant in a delivery room, now a little girl playing hopscotch in the long driveway of a two-story townhouse, and her mother pouring glasses of lemonade. Carver would stand near the garage with the love of his life and let the cool, sweetly sour liquid glide down his throat as he watched his little one hop her way over.
She’d hop her way into his arms, and he’d raise her up to the sky. When she landed, she’d be spiking volleyballs on the middle school team. She’d be the best blocker, earning varsity her freshman year.
Then, Carver would watch her graduate. The tears would fill his
