About this ebook

Mason:
For months now, I have been delaying the inevitable, claiming my fated mate. I can tell she has problems, and I want to be the hero, sweeping in and making them all go away. The price that goes along with that is steep. The rift between our club and the Full Moon Travelers is coming to a head. The last thing I want is for her to get caught in the crossfire.
Tatiana:
I work as a waitress at the bar owned by the Havoc Predators MC. For months now, their Vice President has come in here watching me. Not that I have time to date, but if another man approaches me, I never see him again. I wish he would just tell me what the problem is.
Content intended for mature audiences. Contains violence, language and sexual situations. This is the final book in the Havoc Predators MC, Venus OK Chapter.

    Chapter 1

    Mason

The atmosphere around the clubhouse is solemn. Brothers sit around the room staring into their drinks, for once, the jukebox is silent. Muted conversation, the random clink of glass against glass, and the soft hiss of a beer being opened are the only sounds in the room.

Three days ago, the Full Moon Travelers, a rival MC, shot up the town of Venus. During the shootout, one of our brothers, Dylan, was killed just outside C8H10N4O2, the MC-owned coffee shop. The Highside, our club-owned bar in town, was also riddled with bullets. Several of the townsfolk were caught in the crossfire, some sustaining serious injuries. Once the shooting stopped, we checked for injuries and boarded up both the coffee shop and the bar.

Jasper put the club on lockdown, keeping everyone secure on MC property. He also reached out to the other chapters, giving them an update. Each chapter is sending some much-needed manpower to back us up. Wyatt, Noah, and those that were in Los Angeles are on their way here.

As soon as the shooting had started, I made sure to cover Tatiana with my body. Tatiana showed up in town around the same time Avery did, and ever since I have struggled with my decision on whether to claim her as my mate or to walk away. Her stubbornness rivals my own, which I saw when I tried to convince Tatiana to come to the compound with me, but she wouldn’t have it. She not only works for the MC, waiting tables at the bar but also works at the diner. As vice president, I am needed on the compound so not having Tatiana at my side has me stressed out. It is so bad that my fangs aren't retracting, and my eyes are continuously red.

    "Mason!"

I look over my shoulder at Jasper, who just called out my name. He tilts his head to the side, indicating for me to meet him in his office. I finish off my drink, then stand up and start making my way down the hall. The door is open, so I walk right in. Once I close the door behind me, I take a seat in front of the desk, resting my elbows on my knees and looking up at Jasper.

    What do you need Pres?

Jasper shoots me a look, letting me know just how stupid my question is.

I need to know where your head is at.

    Honestly, I am a mess.

Mason, just go get her and claim her. I need you here and present. You can’t do that without Tatiana safe.

I take a deep breath, letting it out slowly before I respond.

    Jasper, it isn’t that simple.

Jasper’s expression turns more serious than it already was. He leans forward, resting his arms on the desk.

    Explain it to me then.

Unlike you and Avery, or any of the other couples here, I can’t just mate Tatiana with a simple bite. I have to change her. Once she is a vampire, like me, then we will become fully mated. I was born this way. It is not always easy, and I don’t want to make her a monster.

Mason, have you even talked to her about this? You could be making yourself absolutely miserable for nothing.

I haven’t mentioned any of this to her.

Jasper scrubs his hands over his face then gives me a pointed look, his tone brooks no argument.

Mason, as your president—and against my better judgment—I am ordering you to go into town and talk to Tatiana. I need you to either cut her loose or mate with her. You have until the funeral, and I need you back here one way or another.

Jasper extends his arm, a set of keys dangling in his fingers.

Stay at the apartment above the coffee shop, that way you don’t have to travel back and forth. Just make sure you stay alert for the Travelers. Agent Flores and her team are on their way into town, if she needs anything please let me know. Between the disappearances and now the shooting, the FBI is now involved. They have yet to release Dylan’s body, but I have made funeral arrangements for when they finally do.

Alright, Pres… I will check in at least once a day, just so you know I am okay.

Jasper and I shake hands, and I make my way home to pack a bag before heading into town.

    Chapter 2

    Tatiana

Ever since the bar was shot up, I have been a complete wreck. I was barely keeping the creditors at bay, working over eighty hours a week. With the MC-owned bar, The Highside, closed, I don’t have that extra income. I don’t know what I am going to do.

The kitchen bell chimes, bringing me back to the present. I hustle to the pass-through window, pick up my order, and deliver it to the table.

Here you are. I will be back in a few minutes to check on you.

The family of four sitting in the booth nods and starts to eat their meal. With all the disappearances in Venus, I am surprised that we have any customers. I walk by a couple of tables, picking up empty glasses and dishes as I go. I drop the dirty plates off and grab drink refills. As I am checking on my tables, the main door signals a new customer. I yell over my shoulder, not bothering to look at who walked in.

Just have a seat anywhere. One of us will be with you in a minute.

Besides me, there are only two people here today: Benny, the cook, and Carrie, the waitress. Thankfully Dolly, the owner, has kept me on full-time, knowing that I can’t work the MC bar. This has caused some friction with the other girls, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.
