Charles Dante

Charles Dante is a nameless faceless vessel who serves as the transcriber for the Entity—a malevolent force that transcends this world and will ultimately poison all of humanity with its disgust. The Entity has chosen this unknown scribe to spread its venom throughout the universe.Stories of despair, violence and horror are all dutifully recorded, but the insanity and visions of the fantastic has a sinister effect on all those chosen to reveal the Entity’s thoughts. There were others....H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe, just to mention a few, were well known authors who penned these visions of the grotesque that have spread the tentacles of fear across all of humanity.Do not read the works of Charles if you prefer the mundane safe spaces of limited thoughts or prefer to be led around like mindless sheep. Just remember that the cauldron of white hot insanity will eventually explode and invade the world as you now know it—be warned!

    Prologue

It may surprise many, but nevertheless, it is a well–established fact that human beings have more than five senses. To inform a child of these other senses would cause great harm and invoke perpetual nightmares.

The sense of one’s own demise is one such extra sense, and it is more of a curse than a blessing. Most terminally ill patients vehemently suppress the premonition of their impending doom, for if they were to allow this sixth sense to control them, their minds would be filled with the most unspeakable terror ever known to Man. This sixth sense is also responsible for the expression of horror seen on the faces of a serial killer’s victims; this vision of the victim’s face distraught with fear has always imparted great uneasiness on the viewer.

It is fear itself that causes the greatest discomfort, but the fear of facing the terrible wrath of vengeance to avenge the dastardly act that you once carried out with great glee, is surely an uncomfortable feeling that forces you to reap the consequences of a tormented conscience.

Dare to imagine the horror of walking a lonely street with the sense of doom perpetually lingering with every step you take. Now, imagine being cursed with the terrible cloud of doom that hangs over you every waking day of your miserable life reminding you of the violent retribution that will soon take place to avenge your transgressions against a helpless individual—the weak person that you once crushed without compassion or care; the scarred soul who has now gained a terrible power, and would soon unleash it on your tormented soul.

With these pleasant thoughts in mind, the following course of events will enrich the viewer with even more beautiful thoughts.

    A walk in the park

Mrs. Renu was on her way home along a drug free, crime free street in Decentown, when she noticed a slight movement in the bushes at her side.

    Damn rats, she muttered.

Strangely enough she began to think about a particular incident, which she always referred to as a ‘shameful embarrassment that should be quickly forgotten.’

She only got a few seconds of contemplation, before she suddenly found herself staring face to face with a strangely familiar figure in black. It stood there like a contradiction to reality, the shattering of logical reasoning, an apparition of death ready to strike the final blow, and it induced powerful memories that she so desperately wanted to forget.

The figure disappeared like a shadow leaving only stark emptiness, and she had doubts that the vision was real, but her memories were taunting her with screaming voices and grotesque images just as some hidden sense was pleading with her to flee this dark accursed place where her demise seemed so evident. Fear, which normally causes most to run, had quite the opposite effect on her as it rooted her feet to the ground allowing the invisible demons of terror to strike unfathomable fear into every neural structure of her being.

It may have been only a few seconds, but it seemed like hours as she stood there waiting for the call of death with a trembling heart while her body twitched and convulsed as she almost passed out of consciousness.

Finally, she gathered enough courage to walk ahead and the sound of birds chirping gave her confidence that enabled to momentarily dispose of her terrible fear. She began to sing a hymn that she recalled from church, and it was at this point that she stopped abruptly, her mouth wide open with a ghastly stare when she saw the familiar figure in black holding a gleaming saber that revealed its deadly intent. This time it was not a shadow but a real figure of a person whose face was not completely visible, and just as Mrs.
