Bryant Benitez

Bryant Benitez is a communicator seeking to connect himself and others with Jesus. He is a pastor, leader, creative, pioneer and more who loves communicating how we can connect with God and God with us. He has over 10 years' experience leading Christian churches in a variety of denominations. His heart is for those outside of the church who are looking for something and Bryant finds simple and creative ways to communicate God's love to these folks. Bryant has found the power of connecting God's story with creative storytelling to point people into Jesus' love and a life committed to Jesus. Bryant is a husband and a father to 2 great children, ages 7 and 10. His desire is for his children to understand, realize, revel and commit themselves to Jesus and Jesus is committed to them. So, Bryant writes and communicates these stories for his kids and others so they can discover and see God's love for them. As a pastor Bryant saw people within the church had a hard time connecting with Jesus. Bryant's heart is all about reaching anyone but especially those who are feeling as though they are on the fringe of a community. Bryant likes to say, "I'm not your typical pastor." Bryant is not typical because his approach to Jesus is very biblical and yet grace filled. His desire to share Jesus with people is to be creative and yet compassionately critical. His teaching style, his stories, his podcasts, and all other creative projects are reflections of how he believes he is a 'ragamuffin' who shares how Jesus is always working on him to reach others. Bryant's first book is, "The Demon and the doG", and he is working on the final touches for another book, "The A.I. and the Alien". Bryant lives in the great state of Texas and is currently serv- ing as a hospital chaplain-pastor.

The Demon

Did you ever hear the story about the demon who was chased by the doG? No! Well, you are in for a treat. Here we have Damon, a demon sitting in his living room. He, like other demons on this dark side of life wakes up, drinks ghoul drool and watches too much Firevision. Damon reaches for his firevision-screen remote, points and you hear, click, click and the fire screen illuminates. He sits watching The Daily Disaster News. The news anchor announces: 

This just in Delightful Devilish Demons, The Department of Demonic Defense has done it. With the leadership of the Dark Lord and his terrible henchmen, Damon!

Damon grins as he hears his name. 

The news anchor continues: 

Damon has the human ones all in uproar. He suggested to the Dark Lord that they encourage the human ones to be all about the rules. It made lots of human ones give up on following the rules. And the others became such strict rule followers they forget about the doG. Now they only worry about the rules. The rules became their doG! My dastardly demon comrades give a howl for Damon, The Demon of the day! We demon kind have struck a big blow to the doG!

Damon laughs and says, ‘Ha, you ol’ doG. We got you now!"

The news anchor continues: Now, for a commercial break brought to you by the Department.

The commercial starts with screeching music and a ghastly scream:

We aren’t just any Demons. We are the Future Force Demons. 

Join us as we protect all that is dark and hopeless on the other side. 

Remember, we keep the future the same.

Well then, come on down and buy a new or used costume for all your treacherous trickery. Find the best way to disguise your true self! Because if they think we look scary, and slithery, or ghost like, the better we do."

Damon turns down the fire screen and walks to his closet of costumes and tricks. He picks the goblin looking one with fierce teeth and long claws. His closet of masks, costumes and tricks hides his true look. The goblin costume will turn him into a slender and scary looking goblin. However, underneath the costume he is odd looking. He, like other demons, is self-conscious of his true self. All demon kind are mortified to let anyone see what they
