    It was eight o’clock at night. The moon and stars were shining brightly in the dark sky above. Outside, the birds and squirrels had returned to their homes and were fast asleep.

    A number of favorite toys had been stored inside a large yellow box in the corner of a little girl’s bedroom.

    And all of her favorite books were stacked upright on a long shelf above the large, yellow box.

    It was bedtime for Kalena Beenah, the Baby Detective.

    Kalena loved bedtime and bedtime stories. And Mommy and Daddy Beenah loved reading lots of bedtime stories to her at bedtime.

    Sometimes, Mommy and Daddy sang silly songs and played funny peek-a-boo games. Kalena enjoyed singing songs and playing games too.

    Mommy had placed a pink nightgown on Kalena’s small bed. Princess Jasmine in the Aladdin movie had worn a pink nightgown just like it. Mommy and Daddy said Kalena looked like a princess too.

    Kalena climbed into her small bed and pulled the fluffy pink cover up to her neck. She stretched her legs and arms out before her and giggled excitedly. Mommy and Daddy would be there soon.

    She bounced up and down excitedly, causing the fluffy pink cover to flip upward and completely cover Cubby, Kalena’s best friend and constant companion, who had been sleeping on the pillow beside her.

    Oh, no, Cubby, Kalena shouted and pulled the fluffy pink cover downward again away from Cubby’s face.

    Cubby thanked Kalena for saving him from the dark pink world under the pink fluffy cover.

    His red plaid jacket and bow tie had twisted sideways, making Cubby sad.

    I’ll help, Kalena offered and tried to straighten Cubby’s jacket and tie. All better?

    Cubby winked his dark brown eyes, and Kalena had done a good thing. He began
