Anthony Pirrone walked back and forth in his home office. He studied the piece of paper in his hand, thinking that this could be his big break. He had been chasing Jong Kim and his son Randy for four years now. As a member of the FBI’s New York office’s sex trafficking division, he was now growing frustrated with the Kims. Every time he got close, something would throw him off the trail. But now, this piece of paper in his hand might just be what he needed.

As he paced, he looked at the picture of his two beautiful daughters, Samantha and Nikki. It was the day they both won gold medals at the International Tae Kwon Do Championships. He was so proud of them then and even more proud as he watched them become women.

Nikki was entering her second year of college. She had an insane schedule, but she managed it and had perfect grades on top of it. Between school, teaching tae kwon do, and taking her own classes, he didn’t understand how she did it.

Samantha had her mind set from when she was a little girl; she was going to be an FBI agent. So she stayed local and went to the College of Staten Island for criminal justice. As soon as she graduated, she entered the FBI Academy.

He walked out into the kitchen and saw his beautiful wife Angela sitting at the counter drinking her coffee. Nikki came barging in as usual.

Do you need a ride? her father asked.

No, I’ll still make the train.

    Okay. Love you.

Love you guys too, she said, kissing her mother on the head.

Anthony walked out to his car and placed the paper into a box he had in his trunk. It was all of his research on the Kims and the sex trafficking industry. He never noticed the guy on the motorcycle down the street watching him.

Samantha loved the FBI Academy. She loved being the only female in her class, and most of all, she loved kicking their asses in hand-to-hand combat. In the beginning, they wanted to take it easy on her; she landed a spinning roundhouse kick, breaking her opponents’ nose. It was game on from then on. She excelled at every part of her training. Whether it was the hand-to-hand stuff, the academics, firearms, or tactical exercises, she was always near the top of her class. She was only five weeks into her twenty-week training, but she was already turning heads.

For Angela, it had been a normal day. After Anthony and Nikki left the house, she went to her office. As a part owner of P&J Real Estate, she did her best to manage home and work. She only had three appointments today to show a house on Todt Hill that she was lucky enough to land on her inventory. The price for the house was a little over seven figures which meant a nice commission for her.

After showing the house, she ran to the grocery store for a few things and headed home. Her cell phone rang. It was Anthony.

Are you home yet? he asked.

No, but I am close. Why?

I don’t know. I feel like I have been followed all day today.

I don’t like the way this sounds. You should just walk away from this case.

I can’t. I am so close. I can save all those girls.

Just be careful, she said as she hung up.

She pulled into their driveway. Nikki wouldn’t be home yet; she had tae kwon do after school. As she opened the front door, she heard a noise behind her. As she turned, she was shoved into her own house. The grocery bag went flying from her arms, and she went stumbling to the floor. There were three of them, all dressed in black, their faces covered with black masks. Things were happening so quickly she didn’t even have time to scream.

Anthony pulled up and immediately knew something was wrong. The front door was wide open, and he could hear a commotion coming from within the house. Then he heard the two gunshots, and he knew that his wife was dead.

He came into the house in a crouch and saw one of the intruders. He fired one shot right on target, and the man went down dead. Another man appeared, and Anthony fired at him but missed. He flipped the couch over and took cover behind it. The gun battle lasted for what seemed like hours, and Anthony finally had no bullets left. He knew he had no other choice; he jumped out from behind the couch and charged the two remaining men.

They were surprised by his bold move. He connected a hard right to the first guy he encountered and turned in time to hit the other with a front kick. The two men recovered quickly though, and he was now fending both of them off. He faked a kick to one and landed a solid strike to his throat, putting him out of commission for a moment. Now it
