About this ebook
The Dentist Chair is a compelling fictional novel about Dr. Harry James Maddox, once a highly respected and trusted pillar of the community. The Valley, as its residents call it, is snuggled deep within the basin of Southern California and is a pretentious small and tight-knit community. If there ever was a city that could be classified as utopia, it was Montgomery Valley. Outsiders are rarely accepted, but the Valley welcomed Dr. Maddox and his wife, Katrina, with open arms. They were an attractive couple. He was tall, lean, and extremely handsome, and Katrina was beautiful in her own right. Their daughters, Beverly and Angela, by virtue of their birthright were considered true Montgomerians and were expected to marry and remain safe and snug in this cozy environment. Dr. Edward Jones, a native Montgomerian retired after forty years of practicing dentistry, leaving a patient base of one hundred to Dr. Maddox. Within five years, he grew his patient base to over three hundred and fifty. His life could not have been more perfect or happy until he lost focus, bringing shame upon his family, his patients, and his community. His failure to distinguish between right and wrong, between what was moral and immoral, what was professional and unprofessional brought a community to its knees, creating chaos, doubt, mistrust, disgust, and betrayal. There were lies, deceit, and moments of grandeur leading to the unexpected. This once-perfect community of Montgomery Valley will forever be soiled by the actions of one man.

Chapter 1
Dr. Edward Jones retired after forty years of practicing dentistry. His practice was modest but proficient and certainly adequate to maintain a productive lifestyle in the Valley. Locally bred, he was a loyal, loved, respected, and revered community member. He informed his patients of his retirement and that Dr. Harry James Maddox, a bright and competent young man from Chicago, would assume his practice and patients, if they choose to remain.
Dr. Maddox and Katrina were a breath of fresh air, welcomed with open arms and the red carpet rolled out; however, they were still outsiders. He was young and handsome, and she classy and exquisite. He practiced basic dentistry; he was an orthodontist and was well versed in cosmetic dentistry. His touch was gentle, and his bedside manner impeccable. The practice grew from one hundred patients the first year to over three hundred and fifty in less than five years. His patients admiringly called him Dr. Feel Good because he turned the most complicated dental procedure into a pleasant experience, single-handedly taking the pain out of dentistry.
The Maddox family found peace, happiness, and a place they looked forward to calling home for the rest of their lives. Their daughters, Beverly and Angela, were born in Montgomery Valley and by birth were considered Montgomerians, expected to marry and raise their children in the
