    Introduction

    11_Tenure.jpg

    1960’s

I am aware of size, populations, and the diversity of each state. I am aware of the many languages spoken in America. I am aware of the illegals coming over our borders. Many people from all over the world would love to be an American citizen. They hear and read of the freedom and opportunity that they would have in America. The large populations in our major cities create problems in our schools. Many people come to America but do not want to accept ideals that made America great. They bring all the ideas of their country. All the early legal immigrants who came to America wanted a new life of freedom and accepted and lived our way of life, which is set forth in our constitution. The constitution can always be amended.

    It’s Up to You

One song can spark a moment,

One flower can wake the dream.

One tree can start a forest,

    One bird can herald spring.

    One smile begins a friendship,

    One handclasp lifts the soul.

One star can guide a ship to sea,

One work can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,

    One sunbeam lights a room.

    One candle wipes out darkness,

    One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey,

One word must start each prayer.

One hope will raise your spirits,

One touch can show you care.

    One voice can speak wisdom,

One heart can know what’s true.

One life can make the difference,

That difference is up to you.

    Philosophy of Teaching

My goal as an educator has always been to help students reach their full potential. Over my fifty-five-year career as a teacher, I have always tried to stress a positive attitude in the classroom. The quality of academic studies is important, but the warmth of the classroom environment is of equal value. A student should feel at ease while being challenged. A classroom ambience that encourages inquiry, rewards interaction, and promotes mutual respect is conducive to the students’ success.

I believe an outstanding teacher is one who helps young people prepare themselves by establishing positive values, goals, and objectives that help guide them during and after their school experience. In addition, the teacher should have the knowledge and the communications skills that will provide students with a solid educational foundation on which to build. I have always enjoyed and have attempted to encourage high values and to serve as a good model for
