    About the Author

    To the most important people in my life: my family. If it weren't for them, I would not be the person I am today or accomplished all that I have to this point in my life. As eloquently stated by Andre Maurois, Without a family, man, alone in the world, trembles with the cold. Furthermore, to all American patriots who believe in our democratic way of life: active duty military men, women, and veterans that put their lives on the line to defend this country; the first responders who bravely protect our communities; and all the blue-collar working Americans that grind their hands to the bone every day to provide the bare minimum for their families. For it is on your backs that this country was built, continues to prosper, and will continue to make America the greatest nation on earth. I salute you!

    Introduction

    I want to start with the fact that I do not care about fame or fortune. I only care about the safety and security of this great nation. America was founded on Christian ideologies to escape a tyrannical government and support the notion every person should be free. I've served my country and my community in uniform for close to two decades and continually pray for it each day. I believe there is and never has been any place like America on earth. On the other hand, if we do not take drastic actions soon, our great democratic nation will fall. Make no mistake, great evils exist both in America and abroad to dismantle our democratic way of life. Either we stand by and let it happen, or we stand up and fight for the survival of this nation. As Edmund Burke once said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

    Who Am I

    This is a simple question with a complex answer. I am, first and foremost, a Christian man. This means that I fear God, and I seek, however imperfectly, to keep his Word. I love his Son, Jesus Christ, who laid down his life for me. This also means I do not fear man because "what can man do to me" (Hebrew 13:6). I also do not fear telling the truth. I have worked hard to understand the world around me in light of the truth, never evade, and call it as I see it. This is my responsibility as a Christian man.

    I am also a husband and a father, which is an extraordinarily high calling. I am happily married to an amazing woman and blessed beyond what I deserve with four exceptional children who have a claim on the life I owe them. Furthermore, I am a lifelong student, spending a large portion of my life in higher education and pursuing knowledge of the world around me.

    I am a proud American and patriotic citizen who has dedicated my life to the service of others. First, I've served my country as a commissioned officer in the United States military. Then I served my community as a law enforcement officer and investigator. After spending close to two decades in uniform for the sake of liberty and justice, I transitioned to the life of an educator, both at the grade school and university levels. Lastly, for the past several years, I've continued my life of service as a supervisor in the field of emergency management. Living a life of service has and always will be my modus operandi!

    I wasn't born into power, fame, or fortune. The culmination of my life results from blood, sweat, and tears. I will admit that I have been blessed with many unique opportunities to this point in my current lifetime. I will also be the first to admit I am not perfect by any means, as I've had my share of failure, success, devotion, self-sacrifice, leadership, followership, servanthood, volunteerism, love, heartbreak, marriage, divorce, fatherhood, faith, and brotherhood. Having lived a prosperous and fulfilling life fits my motto, carpe diem! Life is too short not to enjoy everything you possibly can during this lifetime. Seize the day and any opportunity that comes your way. It is a joy to pass on what I have learned, but it is more than that; it is my responsibility, for I love my country too much to keep quiet any longer.

    There are many voices out there, just like mine. Be not afraid, for we are the many, and they are the few. We are the 99 percent!

    Who I Am Not

    I am not a politician by any means. Nor do I have my hand in the proverbial cookie jar. I am but a voice of reason and light. I am a regular concerned citizen like most of you. I have no desire to be famous, have unlimited wealth, or wield limitless power, but I do believe in speaking up. We, as a united people, cannot agree to be just a little bit socialist, just a little bit against the free market, or just a little bit controlling of our freedom of speech, religion, right to bear arms, or right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as outlined in our Constitution. Once the door is cracked, evil will come in and spread like a virus, overtaking many aspects of our daily lives. Unfortunately, this door is already half-open, and we must work together as a united nation to close it.

    Furthermore, I am not a person who apologizes for who I am or what I think is right. I am a person who cares about right and wrong, exposing the truth, and doing what it takes to put the country right again while protecting the citizens within. The only proper way to fix this country is through common sense reform and the ability to put others before yourself. For many years, I have used a saying: "Common sense is a superpower; few people have it, and those that do rarely use it." However, most common sense goes out the window when politics get in the way.

    My Background

    Like most hardworking blue-collar Americans, I did not grow up with much money. I came from a divorced family, and for most of my childhood, my mother had to work two to three jobs to put food on the table to support her three children. Nonetheless, I did not let my past hardships define me or my future as an adult. This transformational experience has thoroughly shaped my reverence for the individual and the image of God in every human being. Every day I sought to improve myself through education and training. The only way to keep a youthful mind is to learn something new each day. In this great country of the free and the brave, your successes will only be limited by your imagination and drive.

    I consider myself a blue-collar worker at my core. I have acquired all I have in life due to hard work, dedication, strong faith, and excellent family support. One of the greatest lessons you can learn in life is if you put your mind to it, you can do or be anything you want to be in this lifetime. Mind is all! On the other hand, we tend to be our own worst enemies at times. In fact, the only person that can stop you from achieving all you want in this lifetime…is you.

    I learned very early in life how to set manageable goals and then strive to achieve them with hard work and dedication. And then once I complete my goals, I set higher and more challenging goals to attain. As Vince Lombardi once said, "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence. I've refused to take advantage of the system or find loopholes to get ahead, although I knew and worked with plenty of people that did just that. I agree with the maxim, Nothing in life is for free." I will discuss this issue in more detail in chapter 9. I continue to stay true to who I am and what I stand for no matter what obstacle life puts in my way or whoever tries to derail me. As General Colin Powell once stated, "There are no secrets to success. It results from preparation, hard work, and learning from failure."

    I commonly tell those close to me: Life is a roller coaster, and I am just along for the ride. I will be the first to admit that I am not a perfect man and have made my share of mistakes in the past, for I am only human. But I will also say that I learned from those mistakes rather than let them define me. Instead, I constantly use them to grow and improve each day. There is nothing in my past I would change if given the opportunity, for these experiences made me into the man I am today. I am truly blessed!

    My Political Views

    My political views are essentially what this book is about. On the spectrum, I consider myself an independent with firm conservative and constitutional values. I have traditionally aligned with the Republican party since their platform aligns more closely with my personal beliefs and values. That is not to say I don't believe both Democrats and Republicans have good ideas to offer to the American public. The fact is both parties have lost their ability to communicate and compromise with each other. Both sides are becoming so extreme that they have lost the crucial middle ground. Just turn on the news or listen to political debates, and you will get a taste of the our way or the highway tribalism mentality that continues to plague both parties.

    This mentality has almost eliminated the bipartisan cooperation that is vital for the survival of this nation. I am often boggled at the high expectations we place on our politicians, yet time and time again, they act like children who don't get their way. Politicians are supposed to be the most respected and educated individuals among us, trusted to run our nation with care, compassion, and an excellent moral compass. The saddest part is so many Americans look up to them as examples and, in return, parallel their actions and beliefs in their day-to-day lives.

    I have taken the sacred oath of office for both my country and community more times than I can remember, and I take this oath seriously. I believe we were meant to be a nation ruled by laws and not by men. I also firmly believe in freedom, liberty, free and open markets, the right to bear arms, limited government, minimal taxation, a balanced budget, state's rights, the protection of private property, personal responsibility, ownership of mistakes, keeping your word, secure deals with a simple handshake, and moral absolutes to name a few.

    Moreover, I wholeheartedly believe in the constitution and the foundational beliefs that gave birth to this nation and our way of life. As famously quoted by George Washington, "The Constitution is the guide which I will never abandon. The rule of law is one of the most profound social innovations in the sordid history of the world, for without it, only anarchy and chaos can exist. Before the rule of law, men ruled men by might. Might make right, and this principle victimized the vast majority of people on earth. You may even see international examples of this principle today. But beginning with English Common Law, which grew out of the Middle Ages and culminated in the masterful United States Constitution, our founders sought to build a nation on the idea that we could and should be ruled by laws and ideas rather than tyrants or benevolent sovereigns who would necessarily enslave us and negate our freedom as sovereign image-bearers of God. Unfortunately, a segment of elected officials believes our constitution is outdated and should be changed with the times." Beware of these wolves in sheep's clothing.

    As we continue to voluntarily give governmental control to corrupted politicians, as a result of whichever pandemic is choreographed, the more we will be subjected to oppression, as plainly seen in many countries worldwide. You might be thinking that America is not a theocracy, so how can God rule it? This was the genius of the Founding Fathers. They developed a constitution of laws and principles based on the fundamental axioms of biblical moral law. They created a system of government that would allow checks and balances on any attempt to overrule that law. As much as we follow those principles of government, where the president, the two houses of the legislature, and the Supreme Court all play their part correctly, we can thrive as a people blessed by God.

    This is why it is crucial to stop moving away from this idea. The more laws added that do not come under subordination to the fundamental constitutional axioms, such as those required for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the more we are becoming a people ruled by the corrupted minds of men. As a result, the American democracy experiment will inevitably fail. I will give all that I have to prevent that. Hence, let us refocus our learning on the principles of the very document our Founding Fathers created to secure our way of life.

    According to the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States:

    We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

    Why Write This Book Now

    This book has been both a calling and a work in progress for the last twenty years. Every year, I've gathered information for my research while also gaining a better understanding of the world around me. Ideas would come, and at the same time, life was happening, and I was going down many paths and venturing into many enlightening rabbit holes. But as a result of the fraudulent 2020 election and witnessing numerous policies attempting to dismantle our democratic constitutional way of life, this project has finally come to fruition. Even more so, I fear for the future of my children and my children's children. I see our two-party system internally collapsing before my eyes, and the system's original intent has been lost. Democracy was meant to serve the people and their well-being. But now both Democrats and Republicans have lost their way, moving so radically in opposite directions that there is little opportunity for bipartisan results that genuinely benefit the hardworking citizens of this country. That is not to say that a third party is a great solution. With enough time and the corrupted minds of men, other parties will follow suit.

    It is my firm conviction that the only proper way to fix America is with an independent president, who can take into consideration the best arguments from both sides of the aisle and put common sense legislation on the table that will move this country forward in the right direction. However, as evident in our past, it will be challenging for any independent candidate to get voted into office. The swamp is so deeply rooted in Washington, and historically they do not play nicely with outsiders. There are too many policies and procedures to make this scenario nearly impossible to obtain. Even President Trump had to run on the Republican platform to acquire enough support to get elected. The evidence is prevalent as to how he was treated for the duration of his time in office and the time after, which clearly demonstrates the repulsion of the system to anything that is not business as usual. I encourage each one of you to open your mind's eye, conduct your own research, and make your own choices. Finally, I am writing this book now because the most dangerous weapon against tyranny is a freethinking mind. This work is my magnum opus.

    Purpose of This Book

    You may be asking what I am trying to achieve with this writing. Well, like many patriotic Americans who bleed red, white, and blue, there are six things you should not mess with: my faith, my family, my country, my flag, my liberty, and my guns. I have defended this great country and my community for far too long to see everything flushed down the toilet by corrupt and self-serving politicians. I am writing this book because I want this great democratic country to exist for my children and my children's children. I sincerely pray that a socialist/communist regime will never exist on American soil. I will do my part to see this great country continues to be the land of liberty and an example for all nations.

    Some people believe the actions of one person cannot make a difference. As I stated before, the most significant threat to any tyrannical government is a freethinking mind. I pray this book will create a spark of hope in the hearts and minds of my fellow Americans since all our freedoms are on the line. Most everything we possess in this life serves the single purpose of distracting us from what is really going on in the background. Like in The Wizard of Oz, "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

    You are constantly being forced to look at the politician's (magician's) right hand when you should be focusing on his left. That is why we are experiencing so many man-made pandemics, as they distract us from the behind-the-door policies enacted to control our lives. The intent of this book is not to solve all the problems this country currently faces, for that would require a plethora of additional books on top of this one. However, I intend to provide a common sense approach to a select few critical issues, as outlined below, which could rebuild a strong foundation for the future of this country.

    Why You Should Care

    I shall answer this question with the following excerpt:

    In 1787, when the United States of America was only a few precious years old, Professor Alexander Tytler, a Scottish historian who had thoroughly researched and written about the fall of Athens 2,000 years prior, came to America to observe what had arisen. The following excerpt was his warning to the newly formed democratic empire of the New World:

    A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury. The result is that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependence back again into bondage.

    Lets' break this passage down.

    First and foremost, we are well beyond the two-hundred-year average democratic reign in the United States. Also, we have slowly progressed through and are nearing the end of the very same cycle since our inception. Furthermore, most of our country is dependent on the government to sustain our way of life and with much of the populace receiving some form of
