Imet Cheryl Tucker when our daughters were in middle school in Fort Worth, Texas. I knew she was a beautiful person, though I didn’t know her personally. To have a daughter with such a wonderful spirit told me a story without knowing the characters personally.

Cheryl Tucker has become my beautiful friend. When you meet her, she has a habit of exhibiting this infectious smile that takes your breath away. Cheryl is funny, sweet, and one of the most compassionate persons I have in my life today.

In 2017, the House of David Apostolic Temple family welcomed Cheryl into our lives with open arms. She is honest, outspoken, and a very good listener. As her pastor and leader, I find it a pleasure to watch her grow spiritually. Cheryl has a very unique understanding of the Word of God. As she moves further into her gift as a prolific writer and author, we look forward to reading her life story as it appears on the pages of this book.

Introduction

This book is for the woman who has been broken but refuses to give up. My assignment is to you, broken woman: to let you know that no matter how much you’ve been hurt, beat up, beat down, scorned, and scared, you are still here for a reason. You do have purpose and a destiny in life.

I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to a kid who was a runaway, joined the air force, returned to a neighboring
