My First Two Years of Teaching,
What I Wish Someone Would Have Told Me
By
Lillis Handford
The first year of teaching in a public school was a little overwhelming to say the least. It brought tears some nights and other nights, anxiety and fear. Sometimes one cannot see what is right in front of them. The concern was being able to do the right thing for the students and would I succeed as a teacher. Would be learning what they needed at that grade level and feel safe every day to learn that something that was important for their education?
