Preface
The intention of this study is to follow the Gospel’s account of the words, actions, life and times of Jesus the Christ by combining the four Gospels into one complete story. Not all transitions from book-to-book are smooth prose, however it is quite remarkable how well they actually do fit together.
There are minor differences between the books in regards to the sequence in which some events took place. There was no attempt to prove any book right or wrong. A review of the surrounding text accounts of events and statements in all four Gospels was considered and the combination which made the most congruent story was chosen.
All text is directly from the King James version Bible with book (Mt = Matthew; Mk = Mark; Lk = Luke; Jn = John), chapter and verse references. These clues are included in each section to allow and encourage the reader to go directly to the original books and chapters listed in that section for self-review.
The purpose of this work was to solidify an understanding of Jesus’ life as one whole truth as is the Word of God. As we approach the fulfillment of all prophesies a thorough understanding of His word is paramount to holding fast to the salvation He offers.
If you were looking for a compacted, abridged or summary of the Gospels this is not it. Quite the opposite, every Word of God is so precious, had it been possible all would have been incorporated into this text. The goal was more along the lines of how to ensure nothing was left out and everything was well explained rather than how they could be made more concise. The Word of God is our teacher and every single word, character, order of thought and concept illustrated are essential to a successful life.
