About this ebook
Joan Marjory Silverthorn
The author was born in 1924 in Newfoundland, Canada, of British parents and came to England in 1926. She attended the local school in Edgeware, North London, and passed the scholarship to attend Copthall County School for girls in Mill Hill, North London, in 1936, fortunate in being among the first to intake of 90 pupils when it opened. She married her R.A.F. sweetheart in 1945 but was sadly widowed at age 40. Being blessed with two children and six grandchildren and after many years of working as a draftswoman, (her wartime job), she now travels frequently between England and Canada, mingling with her family and friends and trying to learn to write!
