A boy’s military father eventually abandons the family, leaving the author as a child to grow up supporting his family with a dizzying array of jobs while putting himself through school, in the process becoming perhaps one of the most important experts on rabbits in the world. Bennett also serves in the military and sees action during the Korean War. He manages to earn multiple degrees and work for some of the largest companies in the world, all while supporting his family. It is almost as if Bennett never slept. His advice on rabbits is sought after by people around the world, and his many books on the subject have sold in the thousands in dozens of countries.
Robert Bennett
Robert Bennett is a writer, editor and illustrator who is presently completing his final year in the Bachelor of Writing and Publishing course at NMIT, Fairfield, Victoria. He is a member of several writer groups including Aspiring Writers, Association of Writers, Science Fiction readers, writers, collectors and artists and National Novel Writing Month. Robert also belongs to the Wheeler Centre and Writers Victoria.In April 2014, Robert published his first collection of short stories as an eBook on Smashwords. The title of the eBook is ‘ALLSORTS’. He is currently working on a novel that combines elements of the mystery, thriller and science fiction genres. The draft novel has the working title ‘The Wormhole Revelations’. In 2012, his short story ‘Checkmate – time to go’ was awarded an Honourable Mention in NMIT’s ‘Time to Write’ competition. Since then, Robert’s work has been published in ‘Infusion 48’, ‘Infusion 50’, ‘The Course’s Mouth’ and ‘Swimming Sometimes’.In addition, Robert has designed and edited several annual reports, guidelines and manuals for government agencies. He has also edited a number of sporting club newsletters, books and academic papers. He has wide ranging writing, analytical and research skills as well as holding a Bachelor of Laws (UTS), a Master of Arts (UNSW) and a Graduate Diploma in Law (UOW).
