    Synopsis of Books 1-7

    Book 1:

The Light of Justice is a worldwide folklore hero famous for ruling a land based on faith, righteousness and justice. Yoshua Rosenberg’s archeological team is in pursuit of his identity. Yoshua discovers in the binding of an old book, the cover page of the Hoshiyan Chronicles by Aharon Dori. Under the author’s name, was printed a dedication to the King: The Light of Justice.

Yoshua posted the document on the internet. Vatican internet security picks up the publication since it was flagged red. The pope discovers, in a secret vault under the Vatican, a papal directive to destroy the Chronicles and any mention of Aharon Dori. This starts the secret war with the Vatican.

Yoshua is unaware that he is the central figure in an ancient Hoshiyan prophecy. His real name is Yoshua Aluz, hereditary crown prince of Aluz and prince of the Tribe of Asher. The cover page leads them to a 15th century converted synagogue to chapel in southern Spain. The excavation is secretly financed by Hoshiyans via Dr. Simon Jamerson (surgeon). There, they discover the horrors of the Spanish Inquisition. Falsely imprisoned for terrorism, from where will their salvation come?

    Book 2

Yoshua, Aviva and Sasha receive the king’s pardon. Once home, they receive information to barter with the Spanish government to recover the chapel and artifacts.

Deputy Minister of the Interior, Ernesto Palmerio, secret leader of the Basque terrorists, lures Yoshua back to Spain to murder him. An ambush to murder Yoshua on the Spanish-Portuguese border is thwarted by an elderly couple of bow-wielding Hoshiyans. Yoshua captures Ernesto in a shootout. In the ensuing negotiations, Yoshua receives back the chapel and its artifacts.

The team returns to Spain too many surprises. Simon’s wife’s murderer has come to Spain to finish his revenge.

    Book 3

Spain returns the artifacts, but, with a chaperon, Dr. Miguel Sarmiento. The Spaniard’s lust for treasure and the beautiful Dr. Berger brings strife to the excavation. The first book, opened, is the Community Ledger. It provides a wealth of information from which they discover hidden treasures. The second book introduces Aharon Dori and the Hoshiyan Chronicles. Aharon details how they came to Hoshiya. The Hoshiyans create a new society with their Oath of Peace. Terrorists strike again. They try to blow up the chapel with the team inside it. Everyone is wounded. How will Dr. Jamerson choose to save between the woman he loves (Aviva) and his duty to the prophecy (Yoshua)?

    Book 4

The Spanish give the chapel area consulate status. The locals believe a miracle occurred during the bombing because of its selective damage. Continued readings reveal the moral legacy of the Arieli family. In a disrupted mission, Benyamin Arieli and David Rosenberg are separated from their unit. They are alone in Syria. Dr. Arieli approves of a secret Hoshiyan rescue mission to save the young princes. Can an attack helicopter and a squad of archers fulfill the mission? For the first time, Hoshiyan officers in the IDF face a problem of dual loyalty. Are they willing to pay the price?

    Book 5

A rogue papal agent hires a mobster hit man, who gets killed by Yoshua. The mob wants revenge. In the continuing saga of Hoshiya, Raphael Arieli has a prophecy at his son’s birth. He sees the future. A descendant will become the greatest king of Hoshiya, but at what cost? Raphael sees his son’s death. Can Raphael and Nina save their son, Elisha, by repentance?

Gila and Chelon begin a relationship. Raphael Arieli is elected king, but in a tragic accident becomes an invalid. While regent, Elisha faces two acts of treason by the Duke of Randar and his granddaughter. Will he execute a duke?

The mob besieges the consulate. Death brings heartache to the consulate and the Hoshiyan people.

    Book 6

An attack on a consulate is a declaration of war, the Israeli Foreign Ministry hissed at his Spanish counterpart. Violent conflict continues to follow the Israelis. Aviva withstands the ultimate test of proving her love for Simon. She loves Simon enough to walk away from him. Tragedy strikes with the fulfillment of King Raphael’s prophecy. His son, King Elisha, is killed protecting his wounded guardsmen. Queen Chana takes over the reins of the government. She initiates a number of reforms that anger the nobility and their allies the Free Thinkers. The pope’s surrogates attack Prof. Gavriel in his office at the university.

    Book 7

The saga of the Hoshiyan Chronicle's pace accelerates. Despite the political solution to the incursion into Syria, the head of Israel's Internal Security forces considers Dr. Arieli the leader of a Jewish terrorist organization. The Vatican employs Hamas, who with Iranian help add unsolicited violence in Jerusalem. General Aharon Dori continues with the reign of Queen Chana and her family. A politically arranged marriage turns into two love affairs, linking the Arieli and Dori families platonically. Queen Chana’s first grandson, Elisha, is a genius. From a tender age, he’s revealed to be a prophet. Elisha prophecies the birth of his brothers Daniel and Yossie who share a special soul. Unknown mysteries shroud the miraculous pregnancies and births. Two boys are born at the same instant, who will teach the world about unity and brotherly love. Thus, the Light of Justice is born into the world.

The Vatican slanders the young female Israeli members of the team to discredit them and therefore, their work. Provocateurs are hired, which results in violence and death.

    Recovery

Professor Yoshua Rosenberg finished the last weld, sealing the door to the Bet Midrash closed. His hands shook with emotion. Yoshua understood this was his last time in Nido de Aguila. Someone else will have to finish finding the hidden treasures of the long-lost Jewish community. He nodded to Itamar Yavetz, who closed the acetylene torch. His hand shook as he touched the mezuzah on the door.

Yoshua laid his hand on the plastered wall. He thought back to how much death encompassed this building. From the Spanish Inquisition to British-Pakistani gangsters, to Galician gangsters, to Vatican hit teams and Vatican sponsored attacks on them and the consulate.

Yoshua, come. The police escort is waiting for us, Ruth called to him from inside one of the consulate armored vehicles. As he walked to the car, tears fell from his eyes. He slipped into the back seat, into the waiting arms of his wife. He closed the door, and the convoy headed for the military airbase outside of Granada.

There was nothing to say. They left behind death, destruction, hate, malice, bigotry, and cruelty. The blood of his team stained the soil of Nido de Aguila, which had repaid their kindness with malice. Their expedition into Nido de Aguila ended as a trail of blood, pain, suffering and death.

The trip ended on the tarmac of a Spanish Airforce base. Dr. Simon Jamerson used funds from Or L’Goyim Foundation to charter a Boeing 707 for a direct flight to Israel. The Spanish surrounded the plane with fifty paratroopers and four armored cars. It took an hour to unload the trucks of people, luggage, equipment, and supplies from the consulate. The new deputy minister of the interior, Mateo Gonzalez, represented the Spanish government.

As they finished the last head count, Deputy Minister Gonzalez received a phone call. He listened for two minutes and afterwards called to Yoshua.

Professor, the Minister apologizes again for the attack on your team and the consulate staff. The government is mortified by the action of the instigators. A serious investigation is underway. As a show of goodwill, you will have forty-seven additional passengers, Mateo announced, putting out his hand to Yoshua.

To Mateo’s surprise, the Israelis cried. Three enormous army trucks pulled up next to the loading bay of the plane. Itamar Yaroni organized the men and together they said Kaddish for the dead Jewish community of Nido de Aguila who was on their trip for burial in Israel.

"Yitgadal v’yitkadash sh’mei raba...," they said together in Aramaic.

Glorified and sanctified is God’s glorious name throughout the world which He has created according to His will.

May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

Bless His glorious name forever and to eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us and for Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for Israel; and say, Amen.

The flight home was uneventful until the final fifteen minutes. Dr. Jamerson spent most of his time watching after Hadassah, Sasha, and the wounded consular guards. Towards the end he switched seats with Ruth so he could speak with Yoshua.

Yoshua, what are going to do about, the tombstones and other treasures we left behind?

Simon, Or LeGoyim will have to fund a different team. People who are younger, stronger and smarter than us.

Their conversation was interrupted when the captain’s voice came on over the loudspeakers.

There has been a change in the flight plan. The tower at Ben Gurion has diverted us to Tel Nof military airbase. We will land in fifteen minutes.

Why are we being diverted to a military airbase? Simon asked.

I don’t know why, but it doesn’t sound good, Yoshua replied.

The landing was smooth and when the plane came to a stop. Six trucks, three ambulances, and two buses drove to the plane.

Dr. Jamerson came out first, supporting Hadassah. After they reached the tarmac, two medics rushed up the stairs to assist the two wounded consulate guards. Dr. Jamerson and the three worst wounded left at once for the base hospital. Waiting for Professor Rosenberg was the Foreign Minister.

"Baruch Haba (Blessed are those who come) Professor.

"Baruch Nimtzaim (Blessed are those here) Minister.

We diverted you here because of the cargo you are carrying. We agreed with the Spanish to delay the announcement. My people are organizing a national funeral at Mt. Herzl, the national cemetery. We will treat them as victims of terrorism, the Minister stated.

Thank you, Mr. Minister. When do you expect the funeral to take place? Yoshua inquired.

"We want everyone who fought in the last encounter in Nido to be there. We’ll hold off for two weeks to let the wounded recover. I’ve been in contact with the Jerusalem Chevra Kaddisha (burial society) and they agreed to put the bodies in cold storage," the minister replied.

Thank you for your consideration. When can we go home?

We will debrief everyone. That will take several hours. In the meantime, the air force has agreed to provide showers, meals and phone service. For those who wish, there will be a bus to Tel Aviv and another to Jerusalem, the minister explained.

Minister, may I go to the base hospital to visit my team?

No problem, I’ll take you in my car.

After dinner on the base, Ruth received a brief call from her youngest daughter, Elana.

We will be at the gate of the base in twenty minutes to take you home.

We’ll be there, honey, Ruth replied.

Professor, can I catch a ride with you to the main gate? My parents are waiting for me, Gefen inquired.

No problem. We are leaving in fifteen minutes.

Sasha, do you want to come home with us? Ruth asked.

Thank you, but I’m heading for the base hospital to check on Hadassah and Gila. Ruth elbowed her husband and nodded to Sasha.

    Yoshua approached his student.

Sasha, Hadassah and Gila are in the best hands medical care can give them. Aviva will mother them. The two men embraced and pounded on each other’s back.

Ruth observed her two Neanderthals. She wondered how many thousands of years have men had reassured each other in this manner.

Sasha, our door is open day and night for you.

    Thanks boss.

Yasmine, Chaim and Elana waited for their parents at the gate of the airbase. Asher and Ora Nimrodi waited for their daughter next to the Rosenberg’s children.

The minister’s car drove to the gate. Gefen, Ruth, and Yoshua exited the vehicle. They waved to their family members. They collected their luggage from the trunk and headed to their waiting families.

The Rosenberg children stood in shock when they saw their mother. The right side of her face was purple from bruises, her left arm was in a sling and her right forearm bandaged. They inundated their mother with hugs and kisses. Tears of fear, happiness, and thankfulness flowed from everyone’s eyes.

Careful kids, not only do they look distressing, they hurt.

Yasmine turned to her father with tears in her eyes. Yoshua wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

Hey, if your mother looks like that, what do you think the rioters look like? Yoshua commented.

That brought a small smile to Yasmine’s face.

Have you heard from your brother? Yoshua asked Yasmine.

David was home for Shabbat. He slept seventeen hours straight. He got up and eat everything in the refrigerator.

Yoshua smirked and kissed his daughter’s forehead.

    Have you seen Avigdor?

He came by to pick up David on their way back to base. Thinking of Avigdor made Yoshua think of his Avigdor’s grandfather, Prof. Gavriel Yaroni.

No one had told him about the attack on Prof. Yaroni. Tzion, now had added duty. Dr. Arieli requested from him to guard his best friend, like he watched after Yoshua.

Someone tapped Yoshua on the shoulder. He turned around to find Asher and Ora Nimrodi with Gefen in between them.

We want to thank your wife, Ora said.

    Babe.

Ruth turned around and smiled at Gefen.

Thank you, Dr. Rosenberg, for saving our daughter’s life, Ora said as she wiped away a tear.

Gefen isn’t merely a team member, she is family. I’d sacrifice my life for her as if she was one of my own children, Ruth replied, winking at Gefen.

Tears and thank yous flowed for five minutes.

Professor, when can we visit Hadassah and Gila? We understand from Gefen they received their wounds protecting her, Ora Nimrodi asked.

We have no idea when we can visit. The best idea is to be in contact with Dr. Jamerson. He’ll have the details.

Dr. Rosenberg, if you ever need a favor, call day or night, Asher told Ruth.

Yasmine drove while Ruth sat next to her. Yoshua sat in the back with his arms around his two younger children. Once in Jerusalem, Yasmine headed for the neighborhood of Rehavia. At Ussishkin St., she turned right. They drove past Rehavia on the left and Sha’are Chesed on the right. The stone-faced building reminded Ruth of Nido de Aguila. Yasmine turned left into Rehavia and Yasmine stopped the car next to what was once been Bet Arieli.

Ruth and Yoshua stared in shock. A temporary fence surrounded the plot. Huge tractors laid silent after a long day of removing rubble.

The tractors remind me of dinosaurs chewing on a corpse. Do the authorities know which terrorist organization perpetrated the appalling act? Yoshua asked.

    Hamas claimed responsibility, Chaim said.

I am glad to see the IDF retaliated against the rich thieves who manipulate the poor there, the professor stated.

    None of the children replied.

Am I missing something? Yoshua asked.

No, father, we are overjoyed that the government directed their wrath against the terrorist leadership, Yasmine replied.

    Where is the Arieli Clan?

They are living in caravans in Choron, Elana replied.

You have an open invitation to come, Chaim told his parents.

Father, while you were fighting anti-Semites in Spain, a Shin Bet agent shot Dr. Arieli in the arm, Elana blurted out.

What? How did that happen? Yoshua asked in shock.

Uncle Ysrael and Rav Elisha led the rescue mission to save David and Benyamin. The army arrested them along with the other officers who participated in the rescue. They have been imprisoned, Chaim explained.

You told me, the president gave them a pardon, Yoshua replied. Yes, but the Shin Bet believed the Arielis were leading a new Jewish terrorist underground," Yasmine informed her father.

WHAT? How ridiculous; is the Shin Bet that stupid?

Once Dotan Avrami and I were friends. I should pay him a visit, Yoshua said.

    Ruth stared at him.

    What?

I don’t believe you. We escape being killed and you want to confront the Shin Bet? Ruth rebuked him.

"Aba, Dotan Avrami was fired after his agents shot Dr. Arieli," Yasmine informed her father.

The government have stripped Rav Elisha, Uncle Ysrael, General Har Zahav and Colonel Drori of their rank and forced them out of the reserves. That was part of the agreement to have the charges of treason removed, Elana told her parents.

Yoshua, you stay out of this fight unless someone asks you to help. I won’t repeat myself. I hope our war with the Church has ended. Let’s lick our wounds. Time to go back to being teachers and scientists, Ruth said, knowing that it wasn’t true.

Okay, babe. We are witnessing the end of a generation of fighters. David and his friends will have to take over for us, Yoshua said.

The time has come. Every one of you is beyond reserved duty age. Start living life, Shuki. We have gathered enough data to write a load of papers and maybe a book or two, Ruth told her husband.

Several publishers are bidding for the rights to publish the Hoshiyan Chronicles with Or L’Goyim. The NGO holds the rights to the publications. A representative of a major international publishing house is offering to publish the Chronicles in ten major languages, Yasmine told her father.

I am grateful the entire team got out of Spain alive. Let’s not forget to visit the wounded consulate guards, Yoshua reminded his wife.

Yoshua’s phone rang . He glanced at the caller ID and smiled.

He put the phone on speaker

Welcome home, Ysrael and his entire family greeted Yoshua and Ruth.

We’ll come over after you have unpacked, Yael added.

Oh, Yael, you and the kids will be the best medicine, Ruth answered.

What about me? Ysrael asked with a sad puppy voice.

"You can come if you make your famous shashuka for dinner," Yoshua replied.

No problem, I stop at the bakery and get fresh bread on the way. See you soon. Love you, big brother.

    Can’t wait. Love you.

    Burying the Dead

In honor of their sacrifice , the Israeli Parliament decided the dead of Nido de Aguila should be buried on Mt. Herzl in the national cemetery. The day of the funerals was a clear, warm day. Tens of thousands came to the funerals. Everyone came with hats, sunglasses and holding bottles of water. The size of the public outpouring amazed the authorities. The chief rabbi of the IDF led the service. Members of the Army Rabbanut lowered the dead of Nido de Aguila into their graves.

The relatives of the murdered Jewish community of Nido elected Judge Eliezer Dori to speak at the funeral. The prime minister, president, the two chief rabbis spoke first. Judge Dori stood next to the open graves. He wiped the tears from his eyes and his nose with his handkerchief.

Blessed be the True Judge, the judge opened his eulogy.

"The relatives of the dead thank Professor Yoshua Rosenberg, Dr. Aviva Berger-Jamerson and Alexander Chrominsky for going to prison to preserve our dead relatives. They represent the best of our people with their ahavat chinam. They risked their lives for the holiness of the dead. Tortured souls that died bakiddush Hashem (sanctifying God’s name), because they were Jewish."

Professor Rosenberg and his team found a lost, unknown Jewish community. They revealed not only that they existed, but parts of their personal lives. The community of Nido de Aguila became real for the entire world. They loved, married, and had children, as we do today. Thank you again, professor and your dedicated team for uncovering a piece of our missing history.

The Judge paused and wiped tears from his eyes.

"I am haunted by the mother, who tried to tear a hole in the bricks with her bare fingers. She wore the flesh from her fingers to the bone. Yet, she won’t stop. She did everything in her power to save her child. This is a great lesson for this generation. The double brick wall is a symbol of hatred, xenophobia, and fear.

Our enemies have risen out of the ashes of WWII and attack us across the globe at a level unseen since the Evil One rose to power in Germany.

The BDS and anti-Israeli movements are merely alternative names for the old hatred, anti-Semitism. We saw what happened in Rehavia and in Nido, two heads of the same snake. Unlike our unprotected ancestors that lie before us, we have a country of our own. We, as a people, demand that no Jew should feel unsafe. At the same time, we open our doors to our fellow Jews. Come home, we are waiting for you, Judge Dori stated. Next, he dropped his bombshell.

Our government should protect Jews throughout the world.

The prime minister, ministers, and members of Knesset's eyes dilated. The prime minister thought, what political bomb is this guy going to drop on us?

As a judge, I understand the law. Theoretically, no nation may interfere in the domestic mechanisms of another country. This is basic international law. We are faced with extenuating circumstances. When a national system of justice is prejudiced against the Jewish minority, we have a moral obligation to act. The government must be more active in its foreign policy to protect Jews everywhere. If that doesn’t work, the world needs to fear the long reach of the IDF, the judge threatened the enemies of his people.

The fifty thousand gathered clapped and cheered, to the chagrin of the prime minister and the president.

Judge Dori raised his arms for silence.

I want to live in a state where part of the IDF will be the World Jewish Defense Forces. Let our enemies tremble in fear if they touch another Jew anywhere in the world, the elderly judge said, shaking his right fist in the air. Once again, the crowd clapped for two full minutes. The airwaves became filled with responses as foreign ministers worldwide sent letters protesting Israel’s interference in their domestic affairs.

Never again, the judge shouted. Everyone took up the chant for the next two minutes. Judge Dori picked up a shovel. Together with his wife they dropped two shovel loads of dirt into the grave of Musa Dori. Thousands of people stood in line to add a shovel-full of dirt to a grave. Many came afterwards to Yoshua to shake his hand.

The next evening, the local media published a poll of twenty-eight thousand randomly selected people in Israel. Eighty-four-point seven percent of Israelis supported Judge Dori’s call for swift action against international anti-Semitism.

That evening someone rang the Rosenberg’s door bell. Ruth opened the door and stood there, shocked.

Andy, Rhoda, how nice to see you. You should have let us know you were coming to Israel. Ruth hugged Rhoda and stepped aside to let them into the apartment.

Yoshua, children come see who's here.

We heard on the news about what happened in Nido. Were you able to recover any of the recording equipment? Rhoda asked.

No, we had no time to dissemble the recording studio and prepare it for shipping, Ruth told them.

I thought as much, Andy added.

Have you come baring gifts again? Ruth asked.

After the attack, we approached several friends to help raise funds. They connected us to other people until we got to Los Angeles and Hollywood, Andy explained.

Well, what happened there? Ruth asked with excitement in her eyes.

We took several of Gefen’s readings and even though they couldn’t understand the Hebrew, they fell in love with her voice. The translation concerning the segment about the Oath of Peace opened their pocketbooks. We raised enough money to set up a new recording studio with potential to record voice and music. I thought you can make money on the side by renting it out during the hours you aren’t using it, Rhoda told them.

Yoshua and Ruth leaped out of their chairs. Ruth wrapped her arms around Rhoda and kissed her on the cheeks while Yoshua and Andy pounded each other on the backs.

    "When and where? Yoshua asked.

"We have ordered the equipment and it should arrive in two weeks at Ashdod port. We have a customs agency that will do the paperwork and get the equipment released.

Professor Yaroni’s last graduate student finished his degree two months ago. The department hasn’t decided what to do with his lab. His lab is perfect. The lab is only twenty meters at the other end of the hallway, Ruth said.

    The Long Arm of Justice

Eitan Yardeni, the director of the Mossad, sat in his office with his head in his hands. Judge Eliezer Dori had caused an international uproar. Worse, his speech had caused an upheaval in Israeli politics. He had to go to the prime minister’s office to discuss the government options.

Mr. Prime Minister, the only way to expedite the desire of the people to protect Jews worldwide is to set up an international organization with no ties to the state, Eitan explained.

The prime minister’s private secretary, Shiloh Ahasi, descended from a leading Shemite banking family. Shiloh opened his phone in his pocket and used the speed dial to call Seth Har Zahav.

Seth checked who was calling. He opened the line, but didn’t speak. He heard the following conversation.

Excuse me, I can solve the problem, Shiloh interjected.

Let’s hear it what you got, young man, Eitan offered.

We can turn an embarrassment into an asset.

What is your idea? the prime minister asked.

Seth signaled with his hand for Elisha to join him.

We cashiered four excellent reserve officers for treason. Let’s put on a fake court-marshal and drum them out of the service, Shiloh explained.

We have a signed agreement with Dr. Arieli there won’t be a trial, the prime minister countered.

Explain to him, the trial is for international consumption. We need to establish that no connection exists between us and renegades. After a few days of a trial, they will agree to a plea bargain. This will be contingent on them running the international organization to combat anti-Semitism.

My God, you are a brilliant young man. The world will believe they are traitors, so anything they do can’t connect them to the government. They have at least thirty operatives whom have proven themselves in combat, the prime minister added.

You want to set them up as a separate organization? No government control, and let them take care of anti-Semites worldwide? Eitan asked, bewildered.

Yes, we would have total deniability.

Aren’t you jumping the gun? What makes you think those four will agree? Eitan asked.

Oh, I believe if the president has an off-the-record discussion with Dr. Arieli, they will agree.

You are giving him too much leverage against us, Eitan pointed out.

Better the devil we know from one we don’t. If the judge has hot-headed friends, it will be ruinous for us.

You want to create our own controlled vigilantes to stop?

That is the idea, the prime minister replied.

Whom do we have capable of running a clandestine international organization?" the prime minister inquired.

"Michal Ben Yosef is a retired deputy director of the Mossad. We heard through the grapevine that she is working as an international security advisor. We could talk to her about setting up an agency parallel to the Mossad. She has excellent administrative
