About this ebook

Loosely based on the classic tale Beauty and the Beast this story follows a compassionate young man who discovers a castle filled with mystery, but not as mysterious as the woman that resides there, for she is hiding something… something magical. Will he win the trust of her and the servants that live there? Or will their stories remain unheard?

This book will inspire and engage the reader throughout, showing them that we should accept others regardless of their flaws, be kind, and to understand that perfection does not exist!

I would like to thank my mother because she has always stood by me, believed in me, and helped me achieve my dream.

I would also like to thank my teacher, Tilly, who made me enjoy English, and was always invested in my writing; encouraging me through and through.

Once upon a time, there was a self-absorbed, 20-year-old princess who believed that vanity and perfection were more important than self-love and understanding. One day she was out on a walk when an old, half-blind lady walked toward her. Excuse me, but could you spare some change? I am willing to exchange you a golden rose for your kindness! the old woman pleaded. She feebly pulled out the golden rose but the princess was not impressed; she simply laughed.

"Ha! Me, give something that is important to you, a lady so stupid that she can’t even be bothered to pull together a decent outfit. I mean, look at those atrocious robes!" the princess scoffed. Plus, to teach you a lesson, I will give you a curse of pain and suffering, so much so, that you will cry uncontrollably, become numb, and in extreme cases, become unconscious! she cursed. The princess silently begged and pleaded, but it was done and with that, the angel disappeared. A cloud of smoke filled the air, the curse was made and the only timer she had was the golden rose, which, once dead, would make the curse permanent forever! Or so she thought….

One year passed in a quiet and very boring town. There resided a young 21-year-old man with hardly any muscle, curly jet-brown hair and extremely light-blue eyes. He wore a long-sleeved white jersey, and over the top, he had a blue T-shirt which was complemented by rolled up, cream-coloured, denim shorts. Finally, his outfit was finished off by a pair of navy blue, tight and spotless trainers. His name was Ben, and he was known for being very nice to others. He was honest, and most of the time, very patient. However, this charming boy was, unfortunately, the ideal boyfriend, (at least in
