About this ebook
Rain fell onto the roof of an old castle, its sides weeping with age and its stone walls seeming to shiver in the chilly night. As Lily trudged up the dirt path leading to the castle's front door, she clutched her bag closer to her chest. She didn't even care that mud was coating the hem of her expensive dress, the dress her father had forced her to wear to mother's funeral a fortnight ago. Black and long, with lace down the sleeves and at her throat. It was ugly, a shroud of death that coated her body and mind.
Join Lily to find out the secrets of the old castle her mother loved, and the knight who was left behind.

Rain fell onto the roof of an old castle, its sides weeping with age and its stone walls seeming to shiver in the chilly night. As Lily trudged up the dirt path leading to the castle’s front door, she clutched her bag closer to her chest. She didn’t even care that mud was coating the hem of her expensive dress, the dress her father had forced her to wear to mother’s funeral a fortnight ago. Black and long, with lace down the sleeves and at her throat. It was ugly, a shroud of death that coated her body and mind.
Lily only wore it now as a statement. She had left home without telling anyone where she was headed; a defiance against living while her mother did not.

Now she yearned for any connection to her mother, to thoughts about her life and what the formidable woman would be doing right now if she were still here.
Lily made it to the front door, which was surprisingly still intact. Double doors, made of old sturdy wood, each with a round brass ring in place of a doorknob. They stood taller than she was, though almost everyone did. Her father and brothers were tall men, but Lily took after
