About R.D. Coast R.D. Coast was once visited by a great dragon and is pretty sure that her two childhood friends who could run up the walls and play on the ceiling were absofuckinglutely real. As a young reader, R.D. loved the mysteries of Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys; the fantasy of Roman and Greek mythologies; and, the darkness of R. L. Stine and Christopher Pike. Now she enjoys creating erotic stories that bring together the supernatural, women we want as friends, and the alpha males that claim them. With a slight exception to her After Dark series. The Neighbour - R.D. Coast
Welcome, Darling
Camila's new neighbour , Bruce, is an inconsiderate jerk, a leering jackass, and a total pest. No really. He's managed to infest her sense of sanctuary now that he's moved into the unit beside her.
That is until a beautiful spring day protest, an impromptu sit-down, riot police, and a trip to the station.
When it all goes sideways, Bruce transforms from the reason Camila's skin crawls to why she's on her hands and knees.
One
"G oddamn it! I am going to murder that guy."
Camila churned her arms and legs like windmills to fling the white duvet off her naked body. Swinging her legs off the side of her bed, she glared at the time on the clock. 2:12 a.m. Who the fuck plays music at this time on a fucking Sunday?
She hopped onto the wood floor, furious that she had to put up with this nonsense after already banging on the wall two hours ago before finally falling asleep. Adding to the insult of disregard by an obnoxious neighbour, was the fact that she was also losing an hour of sleep since daylight savings just kicked in the night before.
The bedroom window faced the street so she kept the curtains shut at night, but the fabric was thin enough to let the glow from the streetlights in. Whipping her robe off a chair, she shoved her arms through the sleeves and wrapped the fabric around her, storming out of her bedroom and down the hallway of the apartment with the thick silk ballooning behind her. Stopping at her front door, she shoved her bare feet into the closest pair of boots and twisted the brass door knob.
Without bothering to close her door, she pivoted left and stalked to her neighbour’s stained door. It was the last apartment at the end of the hall, sandwiched above and below the building’s laundry rooms. With one fist holding her robe closed, she raised the other and banged as loudly as she could. She observed that out here, the sound coming from the neighbour’s was incredibly muted. Streaks of anger reddened her cheeks as she wondered why she had to be the lone victim of his riotous music.
Earlier in the day, she returned from getting groceries for the week. Hands full, she’d been inconvenienced along with the rest of the building’s tenants now that it was the end of the month. That’s when the most reliable elevator would only be available for anyone moving in or out. Unfortunately, this meant that there was just one functioning elevator since elevator No°2 was out of service. Again.
The door to her neighbour’s apartment was open when she finally made it to her floor. Disheveled cardboard boxes lined the wall between their apartments. Seeing them so close to her own door irritated her. She could hear rowdy male voices bantering and laughing as she unlocked her door with heavy grocery bags biting into fingers and forearms.
Now, waiting impatiently, Camila quickly tied her robe together. Leveling another round of knocking, she looked down at her boots as she banged her fist on the door. She tapped her foot as she heard the dulled guitar and vocals of ACDC become completely silent. An amused bass voice called out, Just a sec
to which Camila rolled her eyes and irately crossed her arms. Why did she have to get a new neighbour - an obnoxiously loud and inconsiderate neighbour?
The door opened leisurely. Snapping her head up, Camila narrowed her eyes and dropped her hands to
