"Atlantis / Eden's Return" is the sequel to "The Transition of Atlantis".  Unlike it's predecessor, many of the events found in this story takes place in the deep reaches of space.  Characters from the first book must learn strategy as war threatens to wipe out the Earth's current inhabitants.  Atlantis must fight to keep the peaceful civilization that they have established.  Atlantis and her allies form a defense force to help keep their solar system free from enemy craft that threaten to over take planet Earth.  Atlantis gives birth to a self conscious AI in an effort to gain an upperhand, whose fate would determine the outcome of the war.  Science, philosophy, spirituality, and the very way of life throughout Atlantis changes as a result.  The story does contain many life forms and events associated with conspiracy theories.  This is purely a work of fiction and any resemblance to any other story, be it fiction or nonfiction, is entirely coincidental.

The History of King Demerti

(Chapter 1)

While studying a distant solar system an Atlantean ship on a scientific expedition intercepted a message being broadcast into space.  They were there studying a sun that had recently transformed into a red giant.  The broadcast was quite unexpected.  Mysteriously, it was in the same format found in Atlantis’s crystal texts.  After taking the recorded message back to Atlantis it was discovered to be memoirs that were being broadcast directly from the Eden ship.

Shortly afterwards a satellite was placed in the distant solar system to pick up and relay the message to an another Atlantean satellite that could be found in Earth’s orbit.  The closer satellite, which could easily be seen from Earth with the aide of a telescope, was disguised as dark triangular meteor that seemed to be caught in a decaying orbit around Earth.  There it secretly sat relaying the Eden ship’s message down to Atlantis.  After a week of recording the non repeating signal they realized that the message contained an enormous amount of information.  Some of it was of historical value, but it seemed to be more of a warning.  Either way, for some reason after thousands of years Eden was transmitting it’s story across space.

At first the message seemed to chronicle of the Eden ship’s journey through the cosmos.  It told of many Atlantean settlements now thriving on distant planets.  They paid tribute to the King of Atlantis for several years before they were left to survive on their own.  Demerti had not only become a King instead of the Attendant, but he had also used this position to exploit the cosmos.  He robbed planets of their natural resources as tribute before leaving them behind with small settlements to fend for themselves.

There were almost a thousand years of intricate story telling involving the reign of King Demerti.  He had utilized regeneration chambers to extend his life as well as those whom were the most faithful to him.  The unfaithful were sent down to the planets that they visited to start colonies, and most importantly to mine resources.  He also discovered temporal bubbles in space where time practically stood still while the rest of the universe aged.  These bubbles were voids with little to no cosmic radiation, nor gravitational fields.  He established his kingdom inside of one of these voids, and from there he grew his empire.

Starting the settlements were a necessity due to potential overcrowding of the Eden ship, but the manner in which the colonists were chosen was less than civil.  The Atlanteans began inhabiting planets out of need for food and resources publicly.  Privately however, Demerti was building a fleet and equipping an army of faithful warriors.  At every planet that they had passed that was even slightly habitable he sent down settlers until he had emptied over half of the ship’s population.  Needing more settlers to build the armada that he envisioned he quickly turned to cloning and gene splicing.  In this manner he created stronger more subservient beings for his needs.

Within the first three years away from Earth they had already constructed the first of their Armageddon class warships, and had started over twenty new colonies.  Of course, trying to pin down the exact course of time dealing with King Demerti and his kingdom was difficult to determine.  Most of Demerti’s time aboard Eden was spent as far away from as many gravitational pulls as possible, usually hidden in the many temporal bubbles that had been mapped out by his growing armada.  By avoiding gravitational fields he also avoided the passage of time almost completely.  As the planets spun around him with their colonies toiling for years, mere seconds passed for him.  His empire grew exponentially thanks to this trick of mathematics.  This paired with the regeneration chamber technology made his subjects view him as a god.  This technology had been acquired from a planet whose inhabitants would have vanished from existence without them due to their extremely short life spans.

A vast array of knowledge had been discovered and meticulously archived with every colonized addition to the King Demerti’s growing Atlantean Empire.  They constructed worm holes that provided almost instantaneous transport between the new settlements.  This eliminated the need to equip his armada with costly gravity drives.  Atlantis had grown from a city on Earth to an empire spanning throughout the universe.  Several solar systems were now claimed under the flag of Atlantis.  Though these interplanetary civilizations were created under the
