Ayah 1

بِسۡمِIn the nameٱللَّهِof Allahٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِthe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful

Ayah 2

ٱلۡحَمۡدُAll praises and thanksلِلَّهِbe to Allahرَبِّthe Lordٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَof all the worlds

Ayah 3

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِThe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful

Ayah 4

مَٰلِكِMasterيَوۡمِof the Dayٱلدِّينِof the Judgment

Ayah 5

إِيَّاكَYou Aloneنَعۡبُدُwe worshipوَإِيَّاكَand You Aloneنَسۡتَعِينُwe ask for help

Ayah 6

ٱهۡدِنَاGuide usٱلصِّرَٰطَto the pathٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَthe straight

Ayah 7

صِرَٰطَThe pathٱلَّذِينَof thoseأَنۡعَمۡتَYou have bestowed Your Favorsعَلَيۡهِمۡon themغَيۡرِnot ofٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِthose who earned Your wrathعَلَيۡهِمۡon themselvesوَلَاand notٱلضَّآلِّينَof those who go astray

Ayah 1

الٓمٓAlif Laam Meem

Ayah 2

ذَٰلِكَThatٱلۡكِتَٰبُis the Bookلَاnoرَيۡبَۛdoubtفِيهِۛin itهُدٗىa Guidanceلِّلۡمُتَّقِينَfor the God-conscious

Ayah 3

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُؤۡمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلۡغَيۡبِin the unseenوَيُقِيمُونَand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَمِمَّاand out of whatرَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡWe have provided themيُنفِقُونَthey spend

Ayah 4

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيُؤۡمِنُونَbelieveبِمَآin whatأُنزِلَis sent downإِلَيۡكَto youوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَwas sent downمِنfromقَبۡلِكَbefore youوَبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِand in the Hereafterهُمۡtheyيُوقِنُونَfirmly believe

Ayah 5

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseعَلَىٰare onهُدٗىGuidanceمِّنfromرَّبِّهِمۡۖtheir Lordوَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَand thoseهُمُtheyٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَare the successful ones

Ayah 6

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedسَوَآءٌit is sameعَلَيۡهِمۡto themءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡwhether you warn themأَمۡorلَمۡnotتُنذِرۡهُمۡyou warn themلَاnotيُؤۡمِنُونَthey believe

Ayah 7

خَتَمَHas set a sealٱللَّهُAllahعَلَىٰonقُلُوبِهِمۡtheir heartsوَعَلَىٰand onسَمۡعِهِمۡۖtheir hearingوَعَلَىٰٓand onأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡtheir visionغِشَٰوَةٞۖis a veilوَلَهُمۡAnd for themعَذَابٌis a punishmentعَظِيمٞgreat

Ayah 8

وَمِنَAnd ofٱلنَّاسِthe peopleمَنare some whoيَقُولُsayءَامَنَّاWe believedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَبِٱلۡيَوۡمِand in the Dayٱلۡأٓخِرِthe Lastوَمَاbut notهُمtheyبِمُؤۡمِنِينَare believers at all

Ayah 9

يُخَٰدِعُونَThey seek to deceiveٱللَّهَAllahوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoءَامَنُواْbelievedوَمَاand notيَخۡدَعُونَthey deceiveإِلَّآexceptأَنفُسَهُمۡthemselvesوَمَاand notيَشۡعُرُونَthey realize it

Ayah 10

فِيInقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsمَّرَضٞis a diseaseفَزَادَهُمُso has increased themٱللَّهُAllahمَرَضٗاۖin diseaseوَلَهُمۡand for themعَذَابٌis a punishmentأَلِيمُۢpainfulبِمَاbecauseكَانُواْthey used toيَكۡذِبُونَthey lie

Ayah 11

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمۡto themلَاDo notتُفۡسِدُواْspread corruptionفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthقَالُوٓاْthey sayإِنَّمَاOnlyنَحۡنُweمُصۡلِحُونَare reformers

Ayah 12

أَلَآBewareإِنَّهُمۡindeed theyهُمُthemselvesٱلۡمُفۡسِدُونَare the ones who spread corruptionوَلَٰكِنand butلَّاnotيَشۡعُرُونَthey realize it

Ayah 13

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمۡto themءَامِنُواْBelieveكَمَآasءَامَنَbelievedٱلنَّاسُthe peopleقَالُوٓاْthey sayأَنُؤۡمِنُShould we believeكَمَآasءَامَنَbelievedٱلسُّفَهَآءُۗthe foolsأَلَآBewareإِنَّهُمۡcertainly theyهُمُthemselvesٱلسُّفَهَآءُare the foolsوَلَٰكِنand butلَّاnotيَعۡلَمُونَthey know

Ayah 14

وَإِذَاAnd whenلَقُواْthey meetٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedقَالُوٓاْthey sayءَامَنَّاWe believedوَإِذَاBut whenخَلَوۡاْthey are aloneإِلَىٰwithشَيَٰطِينِهِمۡtheir evil onesقَالُوٓاْthey sayإِنَّاIndeed, weمَعَكُمۡare with youإِنَّمَاonlyنَحۡنُweمُسۡتَهۡزِءُونَare mockers

Ayah 15

ٱللَّهُAllahيَسۡتَهۡزِئُmocksبِهِمۡat themوَيَمُدُّهُمۡand prolongs themفِيinطُغۡيَٰنِهِمۡtheir transgressionيَعۡمَهُونَthey wander blindly

Ayah 16

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَare the ones whoٱشۡتَرَوُاْboughtٱلضَّلَٰلَةَthe astrayingبِٱلۡهُدَىٰfor the guidanceفَمَاSo notرَبِحَتprofitedتِّجَٰرَتُهُمۡtheir commerceوَمَاand notكَانُواْwere theyمُهۡتَدِينَguided-ones

Ayah 17

مَثَلُهُمۡTheir exampleكَمَثَلِis like the exampleٱلَّذِيof the one whoٱسۡتَوۡقَدَkindledنَارٗاa fireفَلَمَّآthen, whenأَضَآءَتۡit lightedمَاwhatحَوۡلَهُۥhis surroundingsذَهَبَtook awayٱللَّهُAllahبِنُورِهِمۡtheir lightوَتَرَكَهُمۡand left themفِيinظُلُمَٰتٖdarknessesلَّاso notيُبۡصِرُونَdo they see

Ayah 18

صُمُّۢDeafبُكۡمٌdumbعُمۡيٞblindفَهُمۡso theyلَاnotيَرۡجِعُونَthey will not return

Ayah 19

أَوۡOrكَصَيِّبٖlike a rainstormمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyفِيهِin it areظُلُمَٰتٞdarknessesوَرَعۡدٞand thunderوَبَرۡقٞand lightningيَجۡعَلُونَThey putأَصَٰبِعَهُمۡtheir fingersفِيٓinءَاذَانِهِمtheir earsمِّنَfromٱلصَّوَٰعِقِthe thunderclapsحَذَرَin fear ofٱلۡمَوۡتِۚthe deathوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahمُحِيطُۢis the One Who encompassesبِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers

Ayah 20

يَكَادُAlmostٱلۡبَرۡقُthe lightningيَخۡطَفُsnatches awayأَبۡصَٰرَهُمۡۖtheir sightكُلَّمَآWheneverأَضَآءَit flashesلَهُمfor themمَّشَوۡاْthey walkفِيهِin itوَإِذَآand whenأَظۡلَمَit darkensعَلَيۡهِمۡon themقَامُواْۚthey stand stillوَلَوۡAnd ifشَآءَhad willedٱللَّهُAllahلَذَهَبَHe would certainly have taken awayبِسَمۡعِهِمۡtheir hearingوَأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡۚand their sightإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰis onكُلِّeveryشَيۡءٖthingقَدِيرٞAll-Powerful

Ayah 21

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلنَّاسُmankindٱعۡبُدُواْworshipرَبَّكُمُyour Lordٱلَّذِيthe One Whoخَلَقَكُمۡcreated youوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoمِنfromقَبۡلِكُمۡbefore youلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتَتَّقُونَbecome righteous

Ayah 22

ٱلَّذِيThe One Whoجَعَلَmadeلَكُمُfor youٱلۡأَرۡضَthe earthفِرَٰشٗاa resting placeوَٱلسَّمَآءَand the skyبِنَآءٗa canopyوَأَنزَلَand sent downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءٗwaterفَأَخۡرَجَthen brought forthبِهِۦtherewithمِنَofٱلثَّمَرَٰتِthe fruitsرِزۡقٗاas provisionلَّكُمۡۖfor youفَلَاSo do notتَجۡعَلُواْset upلِلَّهِto Allahأَندَادٗاrivalsوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَعۡلَمُونَyou know

Ayah 23

وَإِنAnd ifكُنتُمۡyou areفِيinرَيۡبٖdoubtمِّمَّاabout whatنَزَّلۡنَاWe have revealedعَلَىٰtoعَبۡدِنَاOur slaveفَأۡتُواْthen produceبِسُورَةٖa chapterمِّنofمِّثۡلِهِۦlike itوَٱدۡعُواْand callشُهَدَآءَكُمyour witnessesمِّنfromدُونِother thanٱللَّهِAllahإِنifكُنتُمۡyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful

Ayah 24

فَإِنBut ifلَّمۡnotتَفۡعَلُواْyou doوَلَنand neverتَفۡعَلُواْwill you doفَٱتَّقُواْthen fearٱلنَّارَthe Fireٱلَّتِيwhoseوَقُودُهَاits fuelٱلنَّاسُis the menوَٱلۡحِجَارَةُۖand the stonesأُعِدَّتۡpreparedلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelievers

Ayah 25

وَبَشِّرِAnd give good newsٱلَّذِينَto those whoءَامَنُواْbelieveوَعَمِلُواْand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِthe righteous deedsأَنَّthatلَهُمۡfor themجَنَّـٰتٖwill be Gardensتَجۡرِيflowمِنfromتَحۡتِهَاunder themٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖthe riversكُلَّمَاEvery timeرُزِقُواْthey are providedمِنۡهَاtherefromمِنofثَمَرَةٖfruitرِّزۡقٗاas provisionقَالُواْthey will sayهَٰذَاThis isٱلَّذِيthe one whichرُزِقۡنَاwe were providedمِنfromقَبۡلُۖbeforeوَأُتُواْAnd they will be givenبِهِۦtherefromمُتَشَٰبِهٗاۖthings in resemblanceوَلَهُمۡAnd for themفِيهَآthereinأَزۡوَٰجٞspousesمُّطَهَّرَةٞۖpurifiedوَهُمۡand theyفِيهَاthereinخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever

Ayah 26

۞إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَاis notيَسۡتَحۡيِۦٓashamedأَنtoيَضۡرِبَset forthمَثَلٗاan exampleمَّاlike evenبَعُوضَةٗof a mosquitoفَمَاand even somethingفَوۡقَهَاۚabove itفَأَمَّاThen as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedفَيَعۡلَمُونَthus they will knowأَنَّهُthat itٱلۡحَقُّis the truthمِنfromرَّبِّهِمۡۖtheir LordوَأَمَّاAnd as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedفَيَقُولُونَthus they will sayمَاذَآwhatأَرَادَdid intendٱللَّهُAllahبِهَٰذَاby thisمَثَلٗاۘexampleيُضِلُّHe lets go astrayبِهِۦby itكَثِيرٗاmanyوَيَهۡدِيand He guidesبِهِۦby itكَثِيرٗاۚmanyوَمَاAnd notيُضِلُّHe lets go astrayبِهِۦٓby itإِلَّاexceptٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَthe defiantly disobedient

Ayah 27

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَنقُضُونَbreakعَهۡدَthe Covenantٱللَّهِof Allahمِنۢfromبَعۡدِafterمِيثَٰقِهِۦits ratificationوَيَقۡطَعُونَand they cutمَآwhatأَمَرَhas orderedٱللَّهُAllahبِهِۦٓitأَنtoيُوصَلَbe joinedوَيُفۡسِدُونَand they spread corruptionفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِۚthe earthأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseهُمُtheyٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَare the losers

Ayah 28

كَيۡفَHowتَكۡفُرُونَcan you disbelieveبِٱللَّهِin AllahوَكُنتُمۡWhile you wereأَمۡوَٰتٗاdeadفَأَحۡيَٰكُمۡۖthen He gave you lifeثُمَّthenيُمِيتُكُمۡHe will cause you to dieثُمَّthenيُحۡيِيكُمۡHe will give you lifeثُمَّthenإِلَيۡهِto Himتُرۡجَعُونَyou will be returned

Ayah 29

هُوَHeٱلَّذِيis the One Whoخَلَقَcreatedلَكُمfor youمَّاwhatفِيis inٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthجَمِيعٗاallثُمَّMoreoverٱسۡتَوَىٰٓHe turnedإِلَىtoٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenفَسَوَّىٰهُنَّand fashioned themسَبۡعَsevenسَمَٰوَٰتٖۚheavensوَهُوَAnd Heبِكُلِّof everyشَيۡءٍthingعَلِيمٞis All-Knowing

Ayah 30

وَإِذۡAnd whenقَالَsaidرَبُّكَyour Lordلِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِto the angelsإِنِّيIndeed, I amجَاعِلٞgoing to placeفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthخَلِيفَةٗۖa vicegerentقَالُوٓاْthey saidأَتَجۡعَلُWill You placeفِيهَاin itمَنone whoيُفۡسِدُwill spread corruptionفِيهَاin itوَيَسۡفِكُand will shedٱلدِّمَآءَthe bloodsوَنَحۡنُwhile weنُسَبِّحُwe glorify Youبِحَمۡدِكَwith Your praisesوَنُقَدِّسُand we sanctifyلَكَۖto YouقَالَHe saidإِنِّيٓIndeed, IأَعۡلَمُI knowمَاwhatلَاdo notتَعۡلَمُونَyou know

Ayah 31

وَعَلَّمَAnd He taughtءَادَمَAdamٱلۡأَسۡمَآءَthe namesكُلَّهَاall of themثُمَّThenعَرَضَهُمۡHe displayed themعَلَىtoٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِthe angelsفَقَالَthen He saidأَنۢبِـُٔونِيInform Meبِأَسۡمَآءِof the namesهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِof theseإِنifكُنتُمۡyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful

Ayah 32

قَالُواْThey saidسُبۡحَٰنَكَGlory be to YouلَاNoعِلۡمَknowledgeلَنَآis for usإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatعَلَّمۡتَنَآۖYou have taught usإِنَّكَIndeed YouأَنتَYouٱلۡعَلِيمُare the All-Knowingٱلۡحَكِيمُthe All-Wise

Ayah 33

قَالَHe saidيَـٰٓـَٔادَمُO Adam!أَنۢبِئۡهُمInform themبِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡۖof their namesفَلَمَّآAnd whenأَنۢبَأَهُمhe had informed themبِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡof their namesقَالَHe saidأَلَمۡDid notأَقُلI sayلَّكُمۡto youإِنِّيٓIndeed, IأَعۡلَمُI knowغَيۡبَthe unseenٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِof the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِand the earthوَأَعۡلَمُand I knowمَاwhatتُبۡدُونَyou revealوَمَاand whatكُنتُمۡyou wereتَكۡتُمُونَconceal

Ayah 34

وَإِذۡAnd whenقُلۡنَاWe saidلِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِto the angelsٱسۡجُدُواْProstrateلِأٓدَمَto Adamفَسَجَدُوٓاْso they prostratedإِلَّآexceptإِبۡلِيسَIbleesأَبَىٰHe refusedوَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَand was arrogantوَكَانَand becameمِنَofٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers

Ayah 35

وَقُلۡنَاAnd We saidيَـٰٓـَٔادَمُO AdamٱسۡكُنۡDwellأَنتَyouوَزَوۡجُكَand your spouseٱلۡجَنَّةَin Paradiseوَكُلَاand you both eatمِنۡهَاfrom itرَغَدًاfreelyحَيۡثُfrom whereverشِئۡتُمَاyou both wishوَلَاBut do notتَقۡرَبَاyou two approachهَٰذِهِthisٱلشَّجَرَةَthe treeفَتَكُونَاlest you both beمِنَofٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers

Ayah 36

فَأَزَلَّهُمَاThen made both of them slipٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُthe Shaitaanعَنۡهَاfrom itفَأَخۡرَجَهُمَاand he got both of them outمِمَّاfrom whatكَانَاthey both wereفِيهِۖin itوَقُلۡنَاAnd We saidٱهۡبِطُواْGo down all of youبَعۡضُكُمۡsome of youلِبَعۡضٍto othersعَدُوّٞۖas enemyوَلَكُمۡand for youفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthمُسۡتَقَرّٞis a dwelling placeوَمَتَٰعٌand a provisionإِلَىٰforحِينٖa period

Ayah 37

فَتَلَقَّىٰٓThen receivedءَادَمُAdamمِنfromرَّبِّهِۦhis LordكَلِمَٰتٖwordsفَتَابَSo his Lord turnedعَلَيۡهِۚtowards himإِنَّهُۥIndeed HeهُوَHeٱلتَّوَّابُis the Oft-returning to mercyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful

Ayah 38

قُلۡنَاWe saidٱهۡبِطُواْGo downمِنۡهَاfrom itجَمِيعٗاۖall of youفَإِمَّاand whenيَأۡتِيَنَّكُمcomes to youمِّنِّيfrom MeهُدٗىGuidanceفَمَنthen whoeverتَبِعَfollowsهُدَايَMy Guidanceفَلَاthen noخَوۡفٌfearعَلَيۡهِمۡwill be on themوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيَحۡزَنُونَwill grieve

Ayah 39

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd thoseكَفَرُواْwho disbelievedوَكَذَّبُواْand denyبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآOur Signsأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthoseأَصۡحَٰبُare the companionsٱلنَّارِۖof the Fireهُمۡtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever

Ayah 40

يَٰبَنِيٓO Childrenإِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَof Israel!ٱذۡكُرُواْRememberنِعۡمَتِيَMy FavorٱلَّتِيٓwhichأَنۡعَمۡتُI bestowedعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youوَأَوۡفُواْand fulfillبِعَهۡدِيٓMy CovenantأُوفِI will fulfillبِعَهۡدِكُمۡyour covenantوَإِيَّـٰيَand Me Aloneفَٱرۡهَبُونِfear Me

Ayah 41

وَءَامِنُواْAnd believeبِمَآin whatأَنزَلۡتُI have sent downمُصَدِّقٗاconfirmingلِّمَاthat whichمَعَكُمۡis with youوَلَاand do notتَكُونُوٓاْbeأَوَّلَthe firstكَافِرِۭdisbelieverبِهِۦۖof itوَلَاAnd do notتَشۡتَرُواْexchangeبِـَٔايَٰتِيMy Signs forثَمَنٗاa priceقَلِيلٗاsmallوَإِيَّـٰيَand Me Aloneفَٱتَّقُونِfear Me

Ayah 42

وَلَاAnd do notتَلۡبِسُواْmixٱلۡحَقَّthe Truthبِٱلۡبَٰطِلِwith the falsehoodوَتَكۡتُمُواْand concealٱلۡحَقَّthe Truthوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَعۡلَمُونَyou know

Ayah 43

وَأَقِيمُواْAnd establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتُواْand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahوَٱرۡكَعُواْand bow downمَعَwithٱلرَّـٰكِعِينَthose who bow down

Ayah 44

۞أَتَأۡمُرُونَDo you orderٱلنَّاسَthe peopleبِٱلۡبِرِّthe righteousnessوَتَنسَوۡنَand you forgetأَنفُسَكُمۡyourselvesوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَتۡلُونَyou reciteٱلۡكِتَٰبَۚthe BookأَفَلَاThen will notتَعۡقِلُونَyou use reason

Ayah 45

وَٱسۡتَعِينُواْAnd seek helpبِٱلصَّبۡرِthrough patienceوَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚand the prayerوَإِنَّهَاand indeed itلَكَبِيرَةٌis surely difficultإِلَّاexceptعَلَىonٱلۡخَٰشِعِينَthe humble ones

Ayah 46

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَظُنُّونَbelieveأَنَّهُمthat theyمُّلَٰقُواْwill meetرَبِّهِمۡtheir Lordوَأَنَّهُمۡand that theyإِلَيۡهِto Himرَٰجِعُونَwill return

Ayah 47

يَٰبَنِيٓO Childrenإِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَof Israel!ٱذۡكُرُواْRememberنِعۡمَتِيَMy FavorٱلَّتِيٓwhichأَنۡعَمۡتُI bestowedعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youوَأَنِّيand that IفَضَّلۡتُكُمۡI preferred youعَلَىoverٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَthe worlds

Ayah 48

وَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearيَوۡمٗاa dayلَّاwill notتَجۡزِيavailنَفۡسٌany soulعَنforنَّفۡسٖanother soulشَيۡـٔٗاanythingوَلَاand notيُقۡبَلُwill be acceptedمِنۡهَاfrom itشَفَٰعَةٞany intercessionوَلَاand notيُؤۡخَذُwill be takenمِنۡهَاfrom itعَدۡلٞa compensationوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيُنصَرُونَwill be helped

Ayah 49

وَإِذۡAnd whenنَجَّيۡنَٰكُمWe saved youمِّنۡfromءَالِthe peopleفِرۡعَوۡنَof Firaunيَسُومُونَكُمۡwho were afflicting you withسُوٓءَhorribleٱلۡعَذَابِtormentيُذَبِّحُونَslaughteringأَبۡنَآءَكُمۡyour sonsوَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَand letting liveنِسَآءَكُمۡۚyour womenوَفِيAnd inذَٰلِكُمthatبَلَآءٞwas a trialمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمۡyour Lordعَظِيمٞgreat

Ayah 50

وَإِذۡAnd whenفَرَقۡنَاWe partedبِكُمُfor youٱلۡبَحۡرَthe seaفَأَنجَيۡنَٰكُمۡthen We saved youوَأَغۡرَقۡنَآand We drownedءَالَthe peopleفِرۡعَوۡنَof Firaunوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَنظُرُونَwere looking

Ayah 51

وَإِذۡAnd whenوَٰعَدۡنَاWe appointedمُوسَىٰٓfor MusaأَرۡبَعِينَfortyلَيۡلَةٗnightsثُمَّThenٱتَّخَذۡتُمُyou tookٱلۡعِجۡلَthe calfمِنۢfromبَعۡدِهِۦafter himوَأَنتُمۡand youظَٰلِمُونَwere wrongdoers

Ayah 52

ثُمَّThenعَفَوۡنَاWe forgaveعَنكُمyouمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterذَٰلِكَthatلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتَشۡكُرُونَbe grateful

Ayah 53

وَإِذۡAnd whenءَاتَيۡنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلۡفُرۡقَانَand the Criterionلَعَلَّكُمۡperhaps youتَهۡتَدُونَwould be guided

Ayah 54

وَإِذۡAnd whenقَالَsaidمُوسَىٰMusaلِقَوۡمِهِۦto his peopleيَٰقَوۡمِO my people!إِنَّكُمۡIndeed youظَلَمۡتُمۡyou have wrongedأَنفُسَكُمyourselvesبِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُby your takingٱلۡعِجۡلَthe calfفَتُوبُوٓاْSo turn in repentanceإِلَىٰtoبَارِئِكُمۡyour Creatorفَٱقۡتُلُوٓاْand killأَنفُسَكُمۡyourselvesذَٰلِكُمۡThatخَيۡرٞis betterلَّكُمۡfor youعِندَwithبَارِئِكُمۡyour CreatorفَتَابَThen He turnedعَلَيۡكُمۡۚtowards youإِنَّهُۥIndeed He!هُوَHeٱلتَّوَّابُis the Oft-returningٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful

Ayah 55

وَإِذۡAnd whenقُلۡتُمۡyou saidيَٰمُوسَىٰO MusaلَنNeverنُّؤۡمِنَwill we believeلَكَin youحَتَّىٰuntilنَرَىwe seeٱللَّهَAllahجَهۡرَةٗmanifestlyفَأَخَذَتۡكُمُSo seized youٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُthe thunderboltوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَنظُرُونَwere looking

Ayah 56

ثُمَّThenبَعَثۡنَٰكُمWe revived youمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterمَوۡتِكُمۡyour deathلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتَشۡكُرُونَbe grateful

Ayah 57

وَظَلَّلۡنَاAnd We shadedعَلَيۡكُمُover youٱلۡغَمَامَwith the cloudsوَأَنزَلۡنَاand We sent downعَلَيۡكُمُto youٱلۡمَنَّthe mannaوَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰۖand the quailsكُلُواْEatمِنfromطَيِّبَٰتِthe good thingsمَاthatرَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡۚWe have provided youوَمَاAnd notظَلَمُونَاthey wronged Usوَلَٰكِنbutكَانُوٓاْthey wereأَنفُسَهُمۡto themselvesيَظۡلِمُونَdoing wrong

Ayah 58

وَإِذۡAnd whenقُلۡنَاWe saidٱدۡخُلُواْEnterهَٰذِهِthisٱلۡقَرۡيَةَtownفَكُلُواْthen eatمِنۡهَاfrom itحَيۡثُwhereverشِئۡتُمۡyou wishedرَغَدٗاabundantlyوَٱدۡخُلُواْand enterٱلۡبَابَthe gateسُجَّدٗاprostratingوَقُولُواْAnd sayحِطَّةٞRepentanceنَّغۡفِرۡWe will forgiveلَكُمۡfor youخَطَٰيَٰكُمۡۚyour sinsوَسَنَزِيدُAnd We will increaseٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَthe good-doers in reward

Ayah 59

فَبَدَّلَBut changedٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُواْwrongedقَوۡلًاthe wordغَيۡرَother thanٱلَّذِيthat whichقِيلَwas saidلَهُمۡto themفَأَنزَلۡنَاso We sent downعَلَىuponٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُواْwrongedرِجۡزٗاa punishmentمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyبِمَاbecauseكَانُواْthey wereيَفۡسُقُونَdefiantly disobeying

Ayah 60

۞وَإِذِAnd whenٱسۡتَسۡقَىٰasked for waterمُوسَىٰMusaلِقَوۡمِهِۦfor his peopleفَقُلۡنَاso We saidٱضۡرِبStrikeبِّعَصَاكَwith your staffٱلۡحَجَرَۖthe stoneفَٱنفَجَرَتۡThen gushed forthمِنۡهُfrom itٱثۡنَتَاofعَشۡرَةَtwelveعَيۡنٗاۖspringsقَدۡIndeedعَلِمَknewكُلُّallأُنَاسٖthe peopleمَّشۡرَبَهُمۡۖtheir drinking placeكُلُواْEatوَٱشۡرَبُواْand drinkمِنfromرِّزۡقِthe provision ofٱللَّهِAllahوَلَاand do notتَعۡثَوۡاْact wickedlyفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthمُفۡسِدِينَspreading corruption

Ayah 61

وَإِذۡAnd whenقُلۡتُمۡyou saidيَٰمُوسَىٰO MusaلَنNever willنَّصۡبِرَwe endureعَلَىٰonطَعَامٖfoodوَٰحِدٖof one kindفَٱدۡعُso prayلَنَاfor usرَبَّكَto your Lordيُخۡرِجۡto bring forthلَنَاfor usمِمَّاout of whatتُنۢبِتُgrowsٱلۡأَرۡضُthe earthمِنۢofبَقۡلِهَاits herbsوَقِثَّآئِهَاand its cucumbersوَفُومِهَاand its garlicوَعَدَسِهَاand its lentilsوَبَصَلِهَاۖand its onionsقَالَHe saidأَتَسۡتَبۡدِلُونَWould you exchangeٱلَّذِيthat whichهُوَitأَدۡنَىٰis inferiorبِٱلَّذِيfor that whichهُوَitخَيۡرٌۚis betterٱهۡبِطُواْGo downمِصۡرٗاto a cityفَإِنَّso indeedلَكُمfor youمَّاis whatسَأَلۡتُمۡۗyou have asked forوَضُرِبَتۡAnd were struckعَلَيۡهِمُon themٱلذِّلَّةُthe humiliationوَٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُand the miseryوَبَآءُوand they drew on themselvesبِغَضَبٖwrathمِّنَofٱللَّهِۚAllahذَٰلِكَThat wasبِأَنَّهُمۡbecause theyكَانُواْused toيَكۡفُرُونَdisbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِin the Signsٱللَّهِof Allahوَيَقۡتُلُونَand killٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَthe Prophetsبِغَيۡرِwithout anyٱلۡحَقِّۚthe rightذَٰلِكَThatبِمَاwas becauseعَصَواْthey disobeyedوَّكَانُواْand they wereيَعۡتَدُونَtransgressing

Ayah 62

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoهَادُواْbecame Jewsوَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰand the Christiansوَٱلصَّـٰبِـِٔينَand the Sabiansمَنۡwhoءَامَنَbelievedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلۡيَوۡمِand the Dayٱلۡأٓخِرِthe Lastوَعَمِلَand didصَٰلِحٗاrighteous deedsفَلَهُمۡso for themأَجۡرُهُمۡis their rewardعِندَwithرَبِّهِمۡtheir Lordوَلَاand noخَوۡفٌfearعَلَيۡهِمۡon themوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيَحۡزَنُونَwill grieve

Ayah 63

وَإِذۡAnd whenأَخَذۡنَاWe tookمِيثَٰقَكُمۡyour covenantوَرَفَعۡنَاand We raisedفَوۡقَكُمُover youٱلطُّورَthe mountخُذُواْHoldمَآwhatءَاتَيۡنَٰكُمWe have given youبِقُوَّةٖwith strengthوَٱذۡكُرُواْand rememberمَاwhatفِيهِis in itلَعَلَّكُمۡperhaps youتَتَّقُونَwould become righteous

Ayah 64

ثُمَّThenتَوَلَّيۡتُمyou turned awayمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterذَٰلِكَۖthatفَلَوۡلَاSo if notفَضۡلُfor the Graceٱللَّهِof Allahعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youوَرَحۡمَتُهُۥand His Mercyلَكُنتُمsurely you would have beenمِّنَofٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَthe losers

Ayah 65

وَلَقَدۡAnd indeedعَلِمۡتُمُyou knewٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱعۡتَدَوۡاْtransgressedمِنكُمۡamong youفِيinٱلسَّبۡتِthe matter of SabbathفَقُلۡنَاSo We saidلَهُمۡto themكُونُواْBeقِرَدَةًapesخَٰسِـِٔينَdespised

Ayah 66

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهَاSo We made itنَكَٰلٗاa deterrent punishmentلِّمَاfor thoseبَيۡنَin frontيَدَيۡهَاof themوَمَاand thoseخَلۡفَهَاafter themوَمَوۡعِظَةٗand an admonitionلِّلۡمُتَّقِينَfor those who fear Allah

Ayah 67

وَإِذۡAnd whenقَالَsaidمُوسَىٰMusaلِقَوۡمِهِۦٓto his peopleإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيَأۡمُرُكُمۡcommands youأَنthatتَذۡبَحُواْyou slaughterبَقَرَةٗۖa cowقَالُوٓاْThey saidأَتَتَّخِذُنَاDo you take usهُزُوٗاۖin ridiculeقَالَHe saidأَعُوذُI seek refugeبِٱللَّهِin AllahأَنۡthatأَكُونَI beمِنَamongٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَthe ignorant

Ayah 68

قَالُواْThey saidٱدۡعُPrayلَنَاfor usرَبَّكَto your Lordيُبَيِّنto make clearلَّنَاto usمَاwhatهِيَۚit isقَالَHe saidإِنَّهُۥIndeed HeيَقُولُsaysإِنَّهَاIndeed itبَقَرَةٞis a cowلَّاnotفَارِضٞoldوَلَاand notبِكۡرٌyoungعَوَانُۢmiddle agedبَيۡنَbetweenذَٰلِكَۖthatفَٱفۡعَلُواْso doمَاwhatتُؤۡمَرُونَyou are commanded

Ayah 69

قَالُواْThey saidٱدۡعُPrayلَنَاfor usرَبَّكَto your Lordيُبَيِّنto make clearلَّنَاto usمَاwhatلَوۡنُهَاۚis its colorقَالَHe saidإِنَّهُۥIndeed HeيَقُولُsaysإِنَّهَاIndeed it isبَقَرَةٞa cowصَفۡرَآءُyellowفَاقِعٞbrightلَّوۡنُهَاin its colorتَسُرُّpleasingٱلنَّـٰظِرِينَto those who see it

Ayah 70

قَالُواْThey saidٱدۡعُPrayلَنَاfor usرَبَّكَto your Lordيُبَيِّنto make clearلَّنَاto usمَاwhatهِيَit isإِنَّIndeedٱلۡبَقَرَthe cowsتَشَٰبَهَlook alikeعَلَيۡنَاto usوَإِنَّآAnd indeed weإِنifشَآءَwillsٱللَّهُAllahلَمُهۡتَدُونَwill surely be those who are guided

Ayah 71

قَالَHe saidإِنَّهُۥIndeed HeيَقُولُsaysإِنَّهَاIndeed itبَقَرَةٞis a cowلَّاnotذَلُولٞtrainedتُثِيرُto ploughٱلۡأَرۡضَthe earthوَلَاand notتَسۡقِيwaterٱلۡحَرۡثَthe fieldمُسَلَّمَةٞsoundلَّاnoشِيَةَblemishفِيهَاۚin itقَالُواْThey saidٱلۡـَٰٔنَNowجِئۡتَyou have comeبِٱلۡحَقِّۚwith the truthفَذَبَحُوهَاSo they slaughtered itوَمَاand notكَادُواْthey were nearيَفۡعَلُونَto doing it

Ayah 72

وَإِذۡAnd whenقَتَلۡتُمۡyou killedنَفۡسٗاa manفَٱدَّـٰرَٰٔتُمۡthen you disputedفِيهَاۖconcerning itوَٱللَّهُbut Allahمُخۡرِجٞis the One Who brought forthمَّاwhatكُنتُمۡyou wereتَكۡتُمُونَconcealing

Ayah 73

فَقُلۡنَاSo We saidٱضۡرِبُوهُStrike himبِبَعۡضِهَاۚwith a part of itكَذَٰلِكَLike thisيُحۡيِrevivesٱللَّهُAllahٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰthe deadوَيُرِيكُمۡand shows youءَايَٰتِهِۦHis Signsلَعَلَّكُمۡperhaps you mayتَعۡقِلُونَuse your intellect

Ayah 74

ثُمَّThenقَسَتۡhardenedقُلُوبُكُمyour heartsمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterذَٰلِكَthatفَهِيَso theyكَٱلۡحِجَارَةِbecame like the stonesأَوۡorأَشَدُّstrongerقَسۡوَةٗۚin hardnessوَإِنَّAnd indeedمِنَfromٱلۡحِجَارَةِthe stonesلَمَاcertainly there are some whichيَتَفَجَّرُgush forthمِنۡهُfrom itٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚthe riversوَإِنَّand indeedمِنۡهَاfrom themلَمَاcertainly there are some whichيَشَّقَّقُsplitفَيَخۡرُجُso comes outمِنۡهُfrom itٱلۡمَآءُۚthe waterوَإِنَّand indeedمِنۡهَاfrom themلَمَاcertainly there are some whichيَهۡبِطُfall downمِنۡfromخَشۡيَةِfearٱللَّهِۗof AllahوَمَاAnd notٱللَّهُis Allahبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاof whatتَعۡمَلُونَyou do

Ayah 75

۞أَفَتَطۡمَعُونَDo you hopeأَنthatيُؤۡمِنُواْthey will believeلَكُمۡfor youوَقَدۡwhile indeedكَانَthere has beenفَرِيقٞa partyمِّنۡهُمۡof themيَسۡمَعُونَwho used to hearكَلَٰمَthe wordsٱللَّهِof Allahثُمَّthenيُحَرِّفُونَهُۥthey distort itمِنۢfromبَعۡدِafterمَاwhatعَقَلُوهُthey understood itوَهُمۡwhile theyيَعۡلَمُونَknow

Ayah 76

وَإِذَاAnd whenلَقُواْthey meetٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedقَالُوٓاْthey sayءَامَنَّاWe have believedوَإِذَاBut whenخَلَاmeet in privateبَعۡضُهُمۡsome of themإِلَىٰwithبَعۡضٖsome othersقَالُوٓاْthey sayأَتُحَدِّثُونَهُمDo you tell themبِمَاwhatفَتَحَhasٱللَّهُAllahعَلَيۡكُمۡto youلِيُحَآجُّوكُمso that they argue with youبِهِۦtherewithعِندَbeforeرَبِّكُمۡۚyour LordأَفَلَاThen do you notتَعۡقِلُونَunderstand

Ayah 77

أَوَلَاDo notيَعۡلَمُونَthey knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahيَعۡلَمُknowsمَاwhatيُسِرُّونَthey concealوَمَاand whatيُعۡلِنُونَthey declare

Ayah 78

وَمِنۡهُمۡAnd among themأُمِّيُّونَare unlettered onesلَاwho do notيَعۡلَمُونَknowٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe bookإِلَّآexceptأَمَانِيَّwishful thinkingوَإِنۡand notهُمۡtheyإِلَّاdo anything exceptيَظُنُّونَguess

Ayah 79

فَوَيۡلٞSo woeلِّلَّذِينَto those whoيَكۡتُبُونَwriteٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe bookبِأَيۡدِيهِمۡwith their own handsثُمَّthenيَقُولُونَthey sayهَٰذَاThisمِنۡisعِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahلِيَشۡتَرُواْto barterبِهِۦwith itثَمَنٗاfor a priceقَلِيلٗاۖlittleفَوَيۡلٞSo woeلَّهُمto themمِّمَّاfor whatكَتَبَتۡhave writtenأَيۡدِيهِمۡtheir handsوَوَيۡلٞand woeلَّهُمto themمِّمَّاfor whatيَكۡسِبُونَthey earn

Ayah 80

وَقَالُواْAnd they sayلَنNeverتَمَسَّنَاwill touch usٱلنَّارُthe Fireإِلَّآexceptأَيَّامٗاfor daysمَّعۡدُودَةٗۚnumberedقُلۡSayأَتَّخَذۡتُمۡHave you takenعِندَfromٱللَّهِAllahعَهۡدٗاa covenantفَلَنso neverيُخۡلِفَwill breakٱللَّهُAllahعَهۡدَهُۥٓۖHis CovenantأَمۡOrتَقُولُونَdo you sayعَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعۡلَمُونَyou know

Ayah 81

بَلَىٰۚYesمَنwhoeverكَسَبَearnedسَيِّئَةٗevilوَأَحَٰطَتۡand surrounded himبِهِۦwithخَطِيٓـَٔتُهُۥhis sinsفَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَso thoseأَصۡحَٰبُare the companionsٱلنَّارِۖof the Fireهُمۡtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever

Ayah 82

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُواْbelievedوَعَمِلُواْand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthoseأَصۡحَٰبُare the companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِۖof Paradiseهُمۡtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever

Ayah 83

وَإِذۡAnd whenأَخَذۡنَاWe tookمِيثَٰقَthe covenantبَنِيٓfrom the Childrenإِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَof IsraelلَاNotتَعۡبُدُونَyou will worshipإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهَAllahوَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِand with the parentsإِحۡسَانٗاbe goodوَذِيand withٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰrelativesوَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰand the orphansوَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِand the needyوَقُولُواْand speakلِلنَّاسِto the peopleحُسۡنٗاgoodوَأَقِيمُواْand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتُواْand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahثُمَّThenتَوَلَّيۡتُمۡyou turned awayإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلٗاa fewمِّنكُمۡof youوَأَنتُمand you wereمُّعۡرِضُونَrefusing

Ayah 84

وَإِذۡAnd whenأَخَذۡنَاWe tookمِيثَٰقَكُمۡyour covenantلَاNotتَسۡفِكُونَwill you shedدِمَآءَكُمۡyour bloodوَلَاand notتُخۡرِجُونَwill evictأَنفُسَكُمyourselvesمِّنfromدِيَٰرِكُمۡyour homesثُمَّthenأَقۡرَرۡتُمۡyou ratifiedوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَشۡهَدُونَwere witnessing

Ayah 85

ثُمَّThenأَنتُمۡyouهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِare thoseتَقۡتُلُونَwho killأَنفُسَكُمۡyourselvesوَتُخۡرِجُونَand evictفَرِيقٗاa partyمِّنكُمof youمِّنfromدِيَٰرِهِمۡtheir homesتَظَٰهَرُونَyou support one anotherعَلَيۡهِمagainst themبِٱلۡإِثۡمِin sinوَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِand the transgressionوَإِنAnd ifيَأۡتُوكُمۡthey come to youأُسَٰرَىٰas captivesتُفَٰدُوهُمۡyou ransom themوَهُوَwhile itمُحَرَّمٌwas forbiddenعَلَيۡكُمۡto youإِخۡرَاجُهُمۡۚtheir evictionأَفَتُؤۡمِنُونَSo do you believeبِبَعۡضِin part ofٱلۡكِتَٰبِthe Bookوَتَكۡفُرُونَand disbelieveبِبَعۡضٖۚin partفَمَاThen whatجَزَآءُshould be the recompenseمَنfor the one whoيَفۡعَلُdoesذَٰلِكَthatمِنكُمۡamong youإِلَّاexceptخِزۡيٞdisgraceفِيinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖof the worldوَيَوۡمَand on the Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِof the Resurrectionيُرَدُّونَthey will be sent backإِلَىٰٓtoأَشَدِّthe most severeٱلۡعَذَابِۗpunishmentوَمَاAnd notٱللَّهُis Allahبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاof whatتَعۡمَلُونَyou do

Ayah 86

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَare the ones whoٱشۡتَرَوُاْboughtٱلۡحَيَوٰةَthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاof the worldبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖfor the Hereafterفَلَاso notيُخَفَّفُwill be lightenedعَنۡهُمُfor themٱلۡعَذَابُthe punishmentوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيُنصَرُونَwill be helped

Ayah 87

وَلَقَدۡAnd indeedءَاتَيۡنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَقَفَّيۡنَاand We followed upمِنۢfromبَعۡدِهِۦafter himبِٱلرُّسُلِۖwith the MessengersوَءَاتَيۡنَاAnd We gaveعِيسَىIsaٱبۡنَthe sonمَرۡيَمَof Maryamٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِthe clear signsوَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُand We supported himبِرُوحِwithٱلۡقُدُسِۗthe Holy SpiritأَفَكُلَّمَاIs it not so that wheneverجَآءَكُمۡcame to youرَسُولُۢa Messengerبِمَاwith whatلَاdoes notتَهۡوَىٰٓdesireأَنفُسُكُمُyourselvesٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡyou acted arrogantlyفَفَرِيقٗاSo a partyكَذَّبۡتُمۡyou deniedوَفَرِيقٗاand a partyتَقۡتُلُونَyou killed

Ayah 88

وَقَالُواْAnd they saidقُلُوبُنَاOur heartsغُلۡفُۢۚare wrappedبَلNayلَّعَنَهُمُhas cursed themٱللَّهُAllahبِكُفۡرِهِمۡfor their disbeliefفَقَلِيلٗاso littleمَّاis whatيُؤۡمِنُونَthey believe

Ayah 89

وَلَمَّاAnd whenجَآءَهُمۡcame to themكِتَٰبٞa BookمِّنۡofعِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahمُصَدِّقٞconfirmingلِّمَاwhat wasمَعَهُمۡwith themوَكَانُواْthough they used toمِنfromقَبۡلُbeforeيَسۡتَفۡتِحُونَthat, pray for victoryعَلَىoverٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedفَلَمَّاthen whenجَآءَهُمcame to themمَّاwhatعَرَفُواْthey recognizedكَفَرُواْthey disbelievedبِهِۦۚin itفَلَعۡنَةُSo the curseٱللَّهِof Allahعَلَىis onٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers

Ayah 90

بِئۡسَمَاEvil is thatٱشۡتَرَوۡاْfor which they have soldبِهِۦٓwithأَنفُسَهُمۡthemselvesأَنthatيَكۡفُرُواْthey disbelieveبِمَآin whatأَنزَلَhas revealedٱللَّهُAllahبَغۡيًاgrudgingأَنthatيُنَزِّلَsends downٱللَّهُAllahمِنofفَضۡلِهِۦHis GraceعَلَىٰonمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsمِنۡfromعِبَادِهِۦۖHis servantsفَبَآءُوSo they have drawn on themselvesبِغَضَبٍwrathعَلَىٰuponغَضَبٖۚwrathوَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَAnd for the disbelieversعَذَابٞis a punishmentمُّهِينٞhumiliating

Ayah 91

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمۡto themءَامِنُواْBelieveبِمَآin whatأَنزَلَhas revealedٱللَّهُAllahقَالُواْthey sayنُؤۡمِنُWe believeبِمَآin whatأُنزِلَwas revealedعَلَيۡنَاto usوَيَكۡفُرُونَAnd they disbelieveبِمَاin whatوَرَآءَهُۥis besides itوَهُوَwhile itٱلۡحَقُّis the truthمُصَدِّقٗاconfirmingلِّمَاwhatمَعَهُمۡۗis with themقُلۡSayفَلِمَThen whyتَقۡتُلُونَdid you killأَنۢبِيَآءَthe Prophetsٱللَّهِof Allahمِنfromقَبۡلُbeforeإِنifكُنتُمyou wereمُّؤۡمِنِينَbelievers

Ayah 92

۞وَلَقَدۡAnd indeedجَآءَكُمcame to youمُّوسَىٰMusaبِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِwith the clear signsثُمَّthenٱتَّخَذۡتُمُyou tookٱلۡعِجۡلَthe calfمِنۢfromبَعۡدِهِۦafter himوَأَنتُمۡand youظَٰلِمُونَwere wrongdoers

Ayah 93

وَإِذۡAnd whenأَخَذۡنَاWe tookمِيثَٰقَكُمۡyour covenantوَرَفَعۡنَاand We raisedفَوۡقَكُمُover youٱلطُّورَthe mountخُذُواْHoldمَآwhatءَاتَيۡنَٰكُمWe gave youبِقُوَّةٖwith firmnessوَٱسۡمَعُواْۖand listenقَالُواْThey saidسَمِعۡنَاWe heardوَعَصَيۡنَاand we disobeyedوَأُشۡرِبُواْAnd they were made to drinkفِيinقُلُوبِهِمُtheir heartsٱلۡعِجۡلَlove of the calfبِكُفۡرِهِمۡۚbecause of their disbeliefقُلۡSayبِئۡسَمَاEvil is thatيَأۡمُرُكُمorders you to do itبِهِۦٓwithإِيمَٰنُكُمۡyour faithإِنifكُنتُمyou areمُّؤۡمِنِينَbelievers

Ayah 94

قُلۡSayإِنIfكَانَتۡisلَكُمُfor youٱلدَّارُthe homeٱلۡأٓخِرَةُof the HereafterعِندَwithٱللَّهِAllahخَالِصَةٗexclusivelyمِّنfromدُونِexcludingٱلنَّاسِthe mankindفَتَمَنَّوُاْthen wishٱلۡمَوۡتَfor the deathإِنifكُنتُمۡyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful

Ayah 95

وَلَنAnd never willيَتَمَنَّوۡهُthey wish for itأَبَدَۢاeverبِمَاbecauseقَدَّمَتۡof what sent aheadأَيۡدِيهِمۡۚtheir handsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلِيمُۢis All-Knowerبِٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَof the wrongdoers

Ayah 96

وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡAnd surely you will find themأَحۡرَصَthe most greedyٱلنَّاسِof the mankindعَلَىٰforحَيَوٰةٖlifeوَمِنَand greedier thanٱلَّذِينَthose whoأَشۡرَكُواْۚassociated partners with AllahيَوَدُّLovesأَحَدُهُمۡeach one of themلَوۡifيُعَمَّرُhe could be granted a lifeأَلۡفَof a thousandسَنَةٖyearsوَمَاBut notهُوَitبِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦwill remove himمِنَfromٱلۡعَذَابِthe punishmentأَنthatيُعَمَّرَۗhe should be granted lifeوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبَصِيرُۢis All-Seerبِمَاof whatيَعۡمَلُونَthey do

Ayah 97

قُلۡSayمَنWhoeverكَانَisعَدُوّٗاan enemyلِّـجِبۡرِيلَto Jibreelفَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed heنَزَّلَهُۥbrought it downعَلَىٰonقَلۡبِكَyour heartبِإِذۡنِby the permissionٱللَّهِof Allahمُصَدِّقٗاconfirmingلِّمَاwhatبَيۡنَwasيَدَيۡهِbefore itوَهُدٗىand a guidanceوَبُشۡرَىٰand glad tidingsلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَfor the believers

Ayah 98

مَنWhoeverكَانَisعَدُوّٗاan enemyلِّلَّهِto Allahوَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتِهِۦand His Angelsوَرُسُلِهِۦand His Messengersوَجِبۡرِيلَand Jibreelوَمِيكَىٰلَand Meekaelفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahعَدُوّٞis an enemyلِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَto the disbelievers

Ayah 99

وَلَقَدۡAnd indeedأَنزَلۡنَآWe revealedإِلَيۡكَto youءَايَٰتِۭVersesبَيِّنَٰتٖۖclearوَمَاand notيَكۡفُرُdisbelievesبِهَآin themإِلَّاexceptٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَthe defiantly disobedient

Ayah 100

أَوَكُلَّمَاAnd is it not that wheneverعَٰهَدُواْthey tookعَهۡدٗاa covenantنَّبَذَهُۥthrew it awayفَرِيقٞa partyمِّنۡهُمۚof themبَلۡNayأَكۡثَرُهُمۡmost of themلَاdo notيُؤۡمِنُونَbelieve

Ayah 101

وَلَمَّاAnd whenجَآءَهُمۡcame to themرَسُولٞa MessengerمِّنۡofعِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahمُصَدِّقٞconfirmingلِّمَاwhatمَعَهُمۡwas with themنَبَذَthrew awayفَرِيقٞa partyمِّنَofٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُواْwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookكِتَٰبَthe Bookٱللَّهِof Allahوَرَآءَbehindظُهُورِهِمۡtheir backsكَأَنَّهُمۡas if theyلَاdo notيَعۡلَمُونَknow

Ayah 102

وَٱتَّبَعُواْAnd they followedمَاwhatتَتۡلُواْrecitedٱلشَّيَٰطِينُthe devilsعَلَىٰoverمُلۡكِthe kingdomسُلَيۡمَٰنَۖof SulaimanوَمَاAnd notكَفَرَdisbelievedسُلَيۡمَٰنُSulaimanوَلَٰكِنَّand butٱلشَّيَٰطِينَthe devilsكَفَرُواْdisbelievedيُعَلِّمُونَthey teachٱلنَّاسَthe peopleٱلسِّحۡرَthe magicوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَwas sent downعَلَىtoٱلۡمَلَكَيۡنِthe two angelsبِبَابِلَin BabylonهَٰرُوتَHarutوَمَٰرُوتَۚand MarutوَمَاAnd notيُعَلِّمَانِthey both teachمِنۡanyأَحَدٍoneحَتَّىٰunlessيَقُولَآthey both sayإِنَّمَاOnlyنَحۡنُweفِتۡنَةٞare a trialفَلَاso do notتَكۡفُرۡۖdisbelieveفَيَتَعَلَّمُونَBut they learnمِنۡهُمَاfrom those twoمَاwhatيُفَرِّقُونَthey causes separationبِهِۦwith itبَيۡنَbetweenٱلۡمَرۡءِthe manوَزَوۡجِهِۦۚand his spouseوَمَاAnd notهُمthey couldبِضَآرِّينَat all be those who harmبِهِۦwith itمِنۡanyأَحَدٍoneإِلَّاexceptبِإِذۡنِby permissionٱللَّهِۚof AllahوَيَتَعَلَّمُونَAnd they learnمَاwhatيَضُرُّهُمۡharms themوَلَاand notيَنفَعُهُمۡۚprofits themوَلَقَدۡAnd indeedعَلِمُواْthey knewلَمَنِthat whoeverٱشۡتَرَىٰهُbuys itمَاnotلَهُۥfor himفِيinٱلۡأٓخِرَةِthe HereafterمِنۡanyخَلَٰقٖۚshareوَلَبِئۡسَAnd surely evilمَاis whatشَرَوۡاْthey soldبِهِۦٓwith itأَنفُسَهُمۡۚthemselvesلَوۡifكَانُواْthey wereيَعۡلَمُونَto know

Ayah 103

وَلَوۡAnd ifأَنَّهُمۡthat theyءَامَنُواْhad believedوَٱتَّقَوۡاْand feared Allahلَمَثُوبَةٞsurely the rewardمِّنۡofعِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahخَيۡرٞۚwould have been betterلَّوۡifكَانُواْthey wereيَعۡلَمُونَto know

Ayah 104

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُواْbelieved!لَاDo notتَقُولُواْsayرَٰعِنَاRainaوَقُولُواْand sayٱنظُرۡنَاUnzurnaوَٱسۡمَعُواْۗand listenوَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَAnd for the disbelieversعَذَابٌis a punishmentأَلِيمٞpainful

Ayah 105

مَّاDo notيَوَدُّlikeٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelieveمِنۡfromأَهۡلِthe Peopleٱلۡكِتَٰبِof the Bookوَلَاand notٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَthose who associate partners with Allahأَنthatيُنَزَّلَthere should be sent downعَلَيۡكُمto youمِّنۡanyخَيۡرٖgoodمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمۡۚyour LordوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَخۡتَصُّchoosesبِرَحۡمَتِهِۦfor His MercyمَنwhomيَشَآءُۚHe willsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahذُوis the Possessorٱلۡفَضۡلِof the Bountyٱلۡعَظِيمِthe Great

Ayah 106

۞مَاWhatنَنسَخۡWe abrogateمِنۡofءَايَةٍa signأَوۡorنُنسِهَاWe cause it to be forgottenنَأۡتِWe bringبِخَيۡرٖbetterمِّنۡهَآthan itأَوۡorمِثۡلِهَآۗsimilar to itأَلَمۡDo notتَعۡلَمۡyou knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰoverكُلِّeveryشَيۡءٖthingقَدِيرٌis All-Powerful

Ayah 107

أَلَمۡDo notتَعۡلَمۡyou knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahلَهُۥfor Himمُلۡكُis the Kingdomٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِof the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗand the earthوَمَاAnd notلَكُمis for youمِّنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyوَلِيّٖprotectorوَلَاand notنَصِيرٍany helper

Ayah 108

أَمۡOrتُرِيدُونَdo you wishأَنthatتَسۡـَٔلُواْyou askرَسُولَكُمۡyour Messengerكَمَاasسُئِلَwas askedمُوسَىٰMusaمِنfromقَبۡلُۗbeforeوَمَنAnd whoeverيَتَبَدَّلِexchangesٱلۡكُفۡرَthe disbeliefبِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِwith the faithفَقَدۡso certainlyضَلَّhe went astray fromسَوَآءَthe evennessٱلسَّبِيلِof the way

Ayah 109

وَدَّWishedكَثِيرٞmanyمِّنۡfromأَهۡلِthe Peopleٱلۡكِتَٰبِof the Bookلَوۡifيَرُدُّونَكُمthey could turn you backمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterإِيمَٰنِكُمۡyour having faithكُفَّارًاto disbelieversحَسَدٗاout of jealousyمِّنۡfromعِندِofأَنفُسِهِمthemselvesمِّنۢeven fromبَعۡدِafterمَاwhatتَبَيَّنَbecame clearلَهُمُto themٱلۡحَقُّۖthe truthفَٱعۡفُواْSo forgiveوَٱصۡفَحُواْand overlookحَتَّىٰuntilيَأۡتِيَbringsٱللَّهُAllahبِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۗHis CommandإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰonكُلِّeveryشَيۡءٖthingقَدِيرٞis All-Powerful

Ayah 110

وَأَقِيمُواْAnd establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتُواْand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚthe zakahوَمَاAnd whateverتُقَدِّمُواْyou send forthلِأَنفُسِكُمfor yourselvesمِّنۡofخَيۡرٖgood deedsتَجِدُوهُyou will find itعِندَwithٱللَّهِۗAllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahبِمَاof whatتَعۡمَلُونَyou doبَصِيرٞis All-Seer

Ayah 111

وَقَالُواْAnd they saidلَنNeverيَدۡخُلَwill enterٱلۡجَنَّةَthe Paradiseإِلَّاexceptمَنwhoكَانَisهُودًاa Jewsأَوۡorنَصَٰرَىٰۗa ChristiansتِلۡكَThatأَمَانِيُّهُمۡۗis their wishful thinkingقُلۡSayهَاتُواْBringبُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡyour proofإِنifكُنتُمۡyou areصَٰدِقِينَthose who are truthful

Ayah 112

بَلَىٰۚYesمَنۡwhoeverأَسۡلَمَsubmitsوَجۡهَهُۥhis faceلِلَّهِto Allahوَهُوَand heمُحۡسِنٞis a good-doerفَلَهُۥٓso for himأَجۡرُهُۥis his rewardعِندَwithرَبِّهِۦhis LordوَلَاAnd noخَوۡفٌfearعَلَيۡهِمۡwill be on themوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيَحۡزَنُونَwill grieve

Ayah 113

وَقَالَتِAnd saidٱلۡيَهُودُthe JewsلَيۡسَتِNotٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰthe Christiansعَلَىٰare onشَيۡءٖanythingوَقَالَتِand saidٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰthe ChristiansلَيۡسَتِNotٱلۡيَهُودُthe Jewsعَلَىٰare onشَيۡءٖanythingوَهُمۡalthough theyيَتۡلُونَreciteٱلۡكِتَٰبَۗthe BookكَذَٰلِكَLike thatقَالَsaidٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَاdo notيَعۡلَمُونَknowمِثۡلَsimilarقَوۡلِهِمۡۚtheir sayingفَٱللَّهُSo Allahيَحۡكُمُwill judgeبَيۡنَهُمۡbetween themيَوۡمَon the Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِof Resurrectionفِيمَاin whatكَانُواْthey wereفِيهِin itيَخۡتَلِفُونَdiffering

Ayah 114

وَمَنۡAnd whoأَظۡلَمُis more unjustمِمَّنthan one whoمَّنَعَpreventsمَسَٰجِدَthe masajidٱللَّهِof Allahأَنtoيُذۡكَرَbe mentionedفِيهَاin themٱسۡمُهُۥHis nameوَسَعَىٰand strivesفِيforخَرَابِهَآۚtheir destructionأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThose!مَاNotكَانَit isلَهُمۡfor themأَنthatيَدۡخُلُوهَآthey enter themإِلَّاexceptخَآئِفِينَۚlike those in fearلَهُمۡFor themفِيinٱلدُّنۡيَاthe worldخِزۡيٞis disgraceوَلَهُمۡand for themفِيinٱلۡأٓخِرَةِthe Hereafterعَذَابٌis a punishmentعَظِيمٞgreat

Ayah 115

وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahٱلۡمَشۡرِقُis the eastوَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚand the westفَأَيۡنَمَاso whereverتُوَلُّواْyou turnفَثَمَّso thereوَجۡهُis the faceٱللَّهِۚof AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahوَٰسِعٌis All-EncompassingعَلِيمٞAll-Knowing

Ayah 116

وَقَالُواْAnd they saidٱتَّخَذَhas takenٱللَّهُAllahوَلَدٗاۗa sonسُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖGlory be to HimبَلNayلَّهُۥfor Himمَاis whatفِيis inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖand the earthكُلّٞAllلَّهُۥto Himقَٰنِتُونَare humbly obedient

Ayah 117

بَدِيعُThe Originatorٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِof the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖand the earth!وَإِذَاAnd whenقَضَىٰٓHe decreesأَمۡرٗاa matterفَإِنَّمَاso onlyيَقُولُHe saysلَهُۥto itكُنBeفَيَكُونُand it becomes

Ayah 118

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَاdo notيَعۡلَمُونَknowلَوۡلَاWhy notيُكَلِّمُنَاspeaks to usٱللَّهُAllahأَوۡorتَأۡتِينَآcomes to usءَايَةٞۗa signكَذَٰلِكَLike thatقَالَsaidٱلَّذِينَthoseمِنfromقَبۡلِهِمbefore themمِّثۡلَsimilarقَوۡلِهِمۡۘtheir sayingتَشَٰبَهَتۡBecame alikeقُلُوبُهُمۡۗtheir heartsقَدۡIndeedبَيَّنَّاWe have made clearٱلۡأٓيَٰتِthe signsلِقَوۡمٖfor peopleيُوقِنُونَwho firmly believe

Ayah 119

إِنَّآIndeed We!أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَWe have sent youبِٱلۡحَقِّwith the truthبَشِيرٗاas a bearer of good newsوَنَذِيرٗاۖand as a warnerوَلَاAnd notتُسۡـَٔلُyou will be askedعَنۡaboutأَصۡحَٰبِthe companionsٱلۡجَحِيمِof the blazing Fire

Ayah 120

وَلَنAnd neverتَرۡضَىٰwill be pleasedعَنكَwith youٱلۡيَهُودُthe Jewsوَلَاand notٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰthe Christiansحَتَّىٰuntilتَتَّبِعَyou followمِلَّتَهُمۡۗtheir religionقُلۡSayإِنَّIndeedهُدَىthe Guidanceٱللَّهِof Allahهُوَitٱلۡهُدَىٰۗis the GuidanceوَلَئِنِAnd ifٱتَّبَعۡتَyou followأَهۡوَآءَهُمtheir desiresبَعۡدَafterٱلَّذِيwhatجَآءَكَhas come to youمِنَofٱلۡعِلۡمِthe knowledgeمَاnotلَكَfor youمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyوَلِيّٖprotectorوَلَاand notنَصِيرٍany helper

Ayah 121

ٱلَّذِينَThoseءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُWe have given themٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookيَتۡلُونَهُۥrecite itحَقَّas it has the rightتِلَاوَتِهِۦٓof its recitationأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThose peopleيُؤۡمِنُونَbelieveبِهِۦۗin itوَمَنAnd whoeverيَكۡفُرۡdisbelievesبِهِۦin itفَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُtheyٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَare the losers

Ayah 122

يَٰبَنِيٓO Childrenإِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَof Israel!ٱذۡكُرُواْRememberنِعۡمَتِيَMy FavorٱلَّتِيٓwhichأَنۡعَمۡتُI bestowedعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youوَأَنِّيand that IفَضَّلۡتُكُمۡI preferred youعَلَىoverٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَthe worlds

Ayah 123

وَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearيَوۡمٗاa dayلَّاnotتَجۡزِيwill availنَفۡسٌa soulعَنofنَّفۡسٖanother soulشَيۡـٔٗاanythingوَلَاand notيُقۡبَلُwill be acceptedمِنۡهَاfrom itعَدۡلٞany compensationوَلَاand notتَنفَعُهَاwill benefit itشَفَٰعَةٞany intercessionوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيُنصَرُونَwill be helped

Ayah 124

۞وَإِذِAnd whenٱبۡتَلَىٰٓtriedإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَIbrahimرَبُّهُۥhis Lordبِكَلِمَٰتٖwith wordsفَأَتَمَّهُنَّۖand he fulfilled themقَالَHe saidإِنِّيIndeed Iجَاعِلُكَam the One to make youلِلنَّاسِfor the mankindإِمَامٗاۖa leaderقَالَHe saidوَمِنAnd fromذُرِّيَّتِيۖmy offspringقَالَHe saidلَاDoes notيَنَالُreachعَهۡدِيMy Covenantٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَto the wrongdoers

Ayah 125

وَإِذۡAnd whenجَعَلۡنَاWe madeٱلۡبَيۡتَthe Houseمَثَابَةٗa place of returnلِّلنَّاسِfor mankindوَأَمۡنٗاand a place of securityوَٱتَّخِذُواْand said Takeمِنfromمَّقَامِthe standing placeإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَof Ibrahimمُصَلّٗىۖas a place of prayerوَعَهِدۡنَآAnd We made a covenantإِلَىٰٓwithإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَIbrahimوَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَand IsmailأَنthatطَهِّرَاYou both purifyبَيۡتِيَMy Houseلِلطَّآئِفِينَfor those who circumambulateوَٱلۡعَٰكِفِينَand those who seclude themselves for devotion and prayerوَٱلرُّكَّعِand those who bow downٱلسُّجُودِand those who prostrate

Ayah 126

وَإِذۡAnd whenقَالَsaidإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُIbrahimرَبِّMy Lordٱجۡعَلۡmakeهَٰذَاthisبَلَدًاa cityءَامِنٗاsecureوَٱرۡزُقۡand provideأَهۡلَهُۥits peopleمِنَwithٱلثَّمَرَٰتِfruitsمَنۡto whoeverءَامَنَbelievedمِنۡهُمfrom themبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلۡيَوۡمِand the Dayٱلۡأٓخِرِۚthe LastقَالَHe saidوَمَنAnd whoeverكَفَرَdisbelievedفَأُمَتِّعُهُۥthen I will grant him enjoymentقَلِيلٗاa littleثُمَّthenأَضۡطَرُّهُۥٓI will force himإِلَىٰtoعَذَابِthe punishmentٱلنَّارِۖof the Fireوَبِئۡسَand evilٱلۡمَصِيرُis the destination

Ayah 127

وَإِذۡAnd whenيَرۡفَعُwas raisingإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُIbrahimٱلۡقَوَاعِدَthe foundationsمِنَofٱلۡبَيۡتِthe Houseوَإِسۡمَٰعِيلُand Ishmaelرَبَّنَاsaying, "Our LordتَقَبَّلۡAcceptمِنَّآۖfrom usإِنَّكَIndeed YouأَنتَYou areٱلسَّمِيعُthe All-Hearingٱلۡعَلِيمُthe All-Knowing

Ayah 128

رَبَّنَاOur Lord!وَٱجۡعَلۡنَاand Make usمُسۡلِمَيۡنِboth submissiveلَكَto YouوَمِنAnd fromذُرِّيَّتِنَآour offspringأُمَّةٗa communityمُّسۡلِمَةٗsubmissiveلَّكَto YouوَأَرِنَاAnd show usمَنَاسِكَنَاour ways of worshipوَتُبۡand turnعَلَيۡنَآۖto usإِنَّكَIndeed You!أَنتَYou areٱلتَّوَّابُthe Oft-returningٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful

Ayah 129

رَبَّنَاOur Lord!وَٱبۡعَثۡAnd raise upفِيهِمۡin themرَسُولٗاa Messengerمِّنۡهُمۡfrom themيَتۡلُواْwho will reciteعَلَيۡهِمۡto themءَايَٰتِكَYour Versesوَيُعَلِّمُهُمُand will teach themٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَand the wisdomوَيُزَكِّيهِمۡۖand purify themإِنَّكَIndeed You!أَنتَYou areٱلۡعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمُthe All-Wise

Ayah 130

وَمَنAnd whoيَرۡغَبُwill turn awayعَنfromمِّلَّةِthe religionإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَof IbrahimإِلَّاexceptمَنwhoسَفِهَfooledنَفۡسَهُۥۚhimselfوَلَقَدِAnd indeedٱصۡطَفَيۡنَٰهُWe chose himفِيinٱلدُّنۡيَاۖthe worldوَإِنَّهُۥand indeed heفِيinٱلۡأٓخِرَةِthe Hereafterلَمِنَsurely will be amongٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَthe righteous

Ayah 131

إِذۡWhenقَالَsaidلَهُۥto himرَبُّهُۥٓhis LordأَسۡلِمۡۖSubmit yourselfقَالَhe saidأَسۡلَمۡتُI have submitted myselfلِرَبِّto the Lordٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَof the worlds

Ayah 132

وَوَصَّىٰAnd enjoinedبِهَآitإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُIbrahimبَنِيهِupon his sonsوَيَعۡقُوبُand YaqubيَٰبَنِيَّO my sonsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahٱصۡطَفَىٰhas chosenلَكُمُfor youٱلدِّينَthe religionفَلَاso notتَمُوتُنَّshould you dieإِلَّاexceptوَأَنتُمwhile youمُّسۡلِمُونَare submissive

Ayah 133

أَمۡOrكُنتُمۡwere youشُهَدَآءَwitnessesإِذۡwhenحَضَرَcame toيَعۡقُوبَYaqubٱلۡمَوۡتُthe deathإِذۡwhenقَالَhe saidلِبَنِيهِto his sonsمَاWhatتَعۡبُدُونَwill you worshipمِنۢfromبَعۡدِيۖafter meقَالُواْThey saidنَعۡبُدُWe will worshipإِلَٰهَكَyour Godوَإِلَٰهَand the Godءَابَآئِكَof your forefathersإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَIbrahimوَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَand Ismailوَإِسۡحَٰقَand IshaqإِلَٰهٗاGodوَٰحِدٗاOneوَنَحۡنُAnd weلَهُۥto Himمُسۡلِمُونَare submissive

Ayah 134

تِلۡكَThisأُمَّةٞwas a communityقَدۡwhichخَلَتۡۖhas passed awayلَهَاfor itمَاwhatكَسَبَتۡit earnedوَلَكُمand for youمَّاwhatكَسَبۡتُمۡۖyou earnedوَلَاAnd notتُسۡـَٔلُونَyou will be askedعَمَّاabout whatكَانُواْthey used toيَعۡمَلُونَdo

Ayah 135

وَقَالُواْAnd they saidكُونُواْBeهُودًاJewsأَوۡorنَصَٰرَىٰChristiansتَهۡتَدُواْۗthen you will be guidedقُلۡSayبَلۡNayمِلَّةَthe religionإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَof Ibrahimحَنِيفٗاۖthe uprightوَمَاand notكَانَhe wasمِنَofٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَthose who associated partners with Allah

Ayah 136

قُولُوٓاْSayءَامَنَّاWe have believedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَis revealedإِلَيۡنَاto usوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedإِلَىٰٓtoإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَIbrahimوَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَand Ismailوَإِسۡحَٰقَand Ishaqوَيَعۡقُوبَand Yaqubوَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِand the descendantsوَمَآand whatأُوتِيَwas givenمُوسَىٰto Musaوَعِيسَىٰand Isaوَمَآand whatأُوتِيَwas givenٱلنَّبِيُّونَto the Prophetsمِنfromرَّبِّهِمۡtheir LordلَاNotنُفَرِّقُwe make distinctionبَيۡنَbetweenأَحَدٖanyمِّنۡهُمۡof themوَنَحۡنُAnd weلَهُۥto Himمُسۡلِمُونَare submissive

Ayah 137

فَإِنۡSo ifءَامَنُواْthey believedبِمِثۡلِin the likeمَآof whatءَامَنتُمyou have believedبِهِۦin itفَقَدِthen indeedٱهۡتَدَواْۖthey are rightly guidedوَّإِنBut ifتَوَلَّوۡاْthey turn awayفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyهُمۡtheyفِيare inشِقَاقٖۖdissensionفَسَيَكۡفِيكَهُمُSo will suffice you against themٱللَّهُۚAllahوَهُوَand Heٱلسَّمِيعُis the All-Hearingٱلۡعَلِيمُthe All-Knowing

Ayah 138

صِبۡغَةَThe color religionٱللَّهِof AllahوَمَنۡAnd whoأَحۡسَنُis betterمِنَthanٱللَّهِAllahصِبۡغَةٗۖat coloringوَنَحۡنُAnd weلَهُۥto Himعَٰبِدُونَare worshippers

Ayah 139

قُلۡSayأَتُحَآجُّونَنَاDo you argue with usفِيaboutٱللَّهِAllahوَهُوَwhile Heرَبُّنَاis our Lordوَرَبُّكُمۡand your LordوَلَنَآAnd for usأَعۡمَٰلُنَاare our deedsوَلَكُمۡand for youأَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡare your deedsوَنَحۡنُand weلَهُۥto Himمُخۡلِصُونَare sincere

Ayah 140

أَمۡOrتَقُولُونَdo you sayإِنَّthatإِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَIbrahimوَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَand Ismailوَإِسۡحَٰقَand Ishaqوَيَعۡقُوبَand Yaqubوَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطَand the descendantsكَانُواْwereهُودًاJewsأَوۡorنَصَٰرَىٰۗChristiansقُلۡSayءَأَنتُمۡAre youأَعۡلَمُbetter knowingأَمِorٱللَّهُۗis AllahوَمَنۡAnd whoأَظۡلَمُis more unjustمِمَّنthan the one whoكَتَمَconcealedشَهَٰدَةًa testimonyعِندَهُۥthat he hasمِنَfromٱللَّهِۗAllahوَمَاAnd notٱللَّهُis Allahبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاof whatتَعۡمَلُونَyou do

Ayah 141

تِلۡكَThisأُمَّةٞwas a communityقَدۡwhichخَلَتۡۖhas passed awayلَهَاfor itمَاwhatكَسَبَتۡit earnedوَلَكُمand for youمَّاwhatكَسَبۡتُمۡۖyou have earnedوَلَاAnd notتُسۡـَٔلُونَyou will be askedعَمَّاabout whatكَانُواْthey used toيَعۡمَلُونَdo

Ayah 142

۞سَيَقُولُWill sayٱلسُّفَهَآءُthe foolish onesمِنَfromٱلنَّاسِthe peopleمَاWhatوَلَّىٰهُمۡhas turned themعَنfromقِبۡلَتِهِمُtheir direction of prayerٱلَّتِيwhichكَانُواْthey were used toعَلَيۡهَاۚon itقُلSayلِّلَّهِFor Allahٱلۡمَشۡرِقُis the eastوَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚand the westيَهۡدِيHe guidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطٖa pathمُّسۡتَقِيمٖstraight

Ayah 143

وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡWe made youأُمَّةٗa communityوَسَطٗاof the middle wayلِّتَكُونُواْso that you will beشُهَدَآءَwitnessesعَلَىoverٱلنَّاسِthe mankindوَيَكُونَand will beٱلرَّسُولُthe Messengerعَلَيۡكُمۡon youشَهِيدٗاۗa witnessوَمَاAnd notجَعَلۡنَاWe madeٱلۡقِبۡلَةَthe direction of prayerٱلَّتِيwhichكُنتَyou were used toعَلَيۡهَآon itإِلَّاexceptلِنَعۡلَمَthat We make evidentمَنhe whoيَتَّبِعُfollowsٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerمِمَّنfrom he whoيَنقَلِبُturns backعَلَىٰonعَقِبَيۡهِۚhis heelsوَإِنAnd indeedكَانَتۡit wasلَكَبِيرَةًcertainly a great testإِلَّاexceptعَلَىforٱلَّذِينَthose whomهَدَىguidedٱللَّهُۗby AllahوَمَاAnd notكَانَwillٱللَّهُAllahلِيُضِيعَlet go wasteإِيمَٰنَكُمۡۚyour faithإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahبِٱلنَّاسِis to the mankindلَرَءُوفٞFull of KindnessرَّحِيمٞMost Merciful

Ayah 144

قَدۡIndeedنَرَىٰWe seeتَقَلُّبَthe turningوَجۡهِكَof your faceفِيtowardsٱلسَّمَآءِۖthe heavenفَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَSo We will surely turn youقِبۡلَةٗto the direction of prayerتَرۡضَىٰهَاۚyou will be pleased withفَوَلِّSo turnوَجۡهَكَyour faceشَطۡرَtowards the directionٱلۡمَسۡجِدِof Al-MasjidٱلۡحَرَامِۚAl-Haraamوَحَيۡثُand whereverمَاthatكُنتُمۡyou areفَوَلُّواْso turnوُجُوهَكُمۡyour facesشَطۡرَهُۥۗin its directionوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُواْwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookلَيَعۡلَمُونَsurely knowأَنَّهُthat itٱلۡحَقُّis the truthمِنfromرَّبِّهِمۡۗtheir LordوَمَاAnd notٱللَّهُis Allahبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاof whatيَعۡمَلُونَthey do

Ayah 145

وَلَئِنۡAnd even ifأَتَيۡتَyou comeٱلَّذِينَto those whoأُوتُواْwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookبِكُلِّwith allءَايَةٖthe signsمَّاnotتَبِعُواْthey would followقِبۡلَتَكَۚyour direction of prayerوَمَآand notأَنتَwill you beبِتَابِعٖa followerقِبۡلَتَهُمۡۚof their direction of prayerوَمَاAnd notبَعۡضُهُمsome of themبِتَابِعٖare followersقِبۡلَةَof the direction of prayerبَعۡضٖۚof each otherوَلَئِنِAnd ifٱتَّبَعۡتَyou followedأَهۡوَآءَهُمtheir desiresمِّنۢfromبَعۡدِafterمَاwhatجَآءَكَcame to youمِنَofٱلۡعِلۡمِthe knowledgeإِنَّكَindeed, youإِذٗاwould thenلَّمِنَbe surely amongٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers

Ayah 146

ٱلَّذِينَTo those whomءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُWe gave themٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookيَعۡرِفُونَهُۥthey recognize itكَمَاlikeيَعۡرِفُونَthey recognizeأَبۡنَآءَهُمۡۖtheir sonsوَإِنَّAnd indeedفَرِيقٗاa groupمِّنۡهُمۡof themلَيَكۡتُمُونَsurely they concealٱلۡحَقَّthe Truthوَهُمۡwhile theyيَعۡلَمُونَknow

Ayah 147

ٱلۡحَقُّThe Truthمِنis fromرَّبِّكَyour Lordفَلَاso do notتَكُونَنَّbeمِنَamongٱلۡمُمۡتَرِينَthe doubters

Ayah 148

وَلِكُلّٖAnd for everyoneوِجۡهَةٌis a directionهُوَheمُوَلِّيهَاۖturns towards itفَٱسۡتَبِقُواْso raceٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚto the goodأَيۡنَWhereverمَاthatتَكُونُواْyou will beيَأۡتِwill bringبِكُمُyouٱللَّهُby AllahجَمِيعًاۚtogetherإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰis onكُلِّeveryشَيۡءٖthingقَدِيرٞAll-Powerful

Ayah 149

وَمِنۡAnd fromحَيۡثُwhereverخَرَجۡتَyou start forthفَوَلِّso turnوَجۡهَكَyour faceشَطۡرَin the directionٱلۡمَسۡجِدِof Al-MasjidٱلۡحَرَامِۖAl-HaraamوَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itلَلۡحَقُّis surely the truthمِنfromرَّبِّكَۗyour LordوَمَاAnd notٱللَّهُis Allahبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاof whatتَعۡمَلُونَyou do

Ayah 150

وَمِنۡAnd fromحَيۡثُwhereverخَرَجۡتَyou start forthفَوَلِّso turnوَجۡهَكَyour faceشَطۡرَin the directionٱلۡمَسۡجِدِof Al-MasjidٱلۡحَرَامِۚAl-HaraamوَحَيۡثُAnd whereverمَاthatكُنتُمۡyou all areفَوَلُّواْso turnوُجُوهَكُمۡyour facesشَطۡرَهُۥin its directionلِئَلَّاso that notيَكُونَwill beلِلنَّاسِfor the peopleعَلَيۡكُمۡagainst youحُجَّةٌany argumentإِلَّاexceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُواْwrongedمِنۡهُمۡamong themفَلَاso do notتَخۡشَوۡهُمۡfear themوَٱخۡشَوۡنِيbut fear MeوَلِأُتِمَّAnd that I completeنِعۡمَتِيMy favorعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youوَلَعَلَّكُمۡand so that you mayتَهۡتَدُونَbe guided

Ayah 151

كَمَآAsأَرۡسَلۡنَاWe sentفِيكُمۡamong youرَسُولٗاa Messengerمِّنكُمۡfrom youيَتۡلُواْwho recitesعَلَيۡكُمۡto youءَايَٰتِنَاOur versesوَيُزَكِّيكُمۡand purifies youوَيُعَلِّمُكُمُand teaches youٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَand the wisdomوَيُعَلِّمُكُمand teaches youمَّاwhatلَمۡnotتَكُونُواْyou wereتَعۡلَمُونَknowing

Ayah 152

فَٱذۡكُرُونِيٓSo remember MeأَذۡكُرۡكُمۡI will remember youوَٱشۡكُرُواْand be gratefulلِيto Meوَلَاand do notتَكۡفُرُونِbe ungrateful to Me

Ayah 153

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُواْbelieved!ٱسۡتَعِينُواْSeek helpبِٱلصَّبۡرِthrough patienceوَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚand the prayerإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahمَعَis withٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَthe patient ones

Ayah 154

وَلَاAnd do notتَقُولُواْsayلِمَنfor the ones whoيُقۡتَلُare slainفِيinسَبِيلِthe wayٱللَّهِof AllahأَمۡوَٰتُۢۚThey are deadبَلۡNayأَحۡيَآءٞthey are aliveوَلَٰكِنand butلَّاyou do notتَشۡعُرُونَperceive

Ayah 155

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُمAnd surely We will test youبِشَيۡءٖwith somethingمِّنَofٱلۡخَوۡفِthe fearوَٱلۡجُوعِand the hungerوَنَقۡصٖand lossمِّنَofٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِthe wealthوَٱلۡأَنفُسِand the livesوَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۗand the fruitsوَبَشِّرِbut give good newsٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَto the patient ones

Ayah 156

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoإِذَآwhenأَصَٰبَتۡهُمstrikes themمُّصِيبَةٞa misfortuneقَالُوٓاْthey sayإِنَّاIndeed, weلِلَّهِbelong to Allahوَإِنَّآand indeed weإِلَيۡهِtowards Himرَٰجِعُونَwill return

Ayah 157

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseعَلَيۡهِمۡon themصَلَوَٰتٞare blessingsمِّنfromرَّبِّهِمۡtheir Lordوَرَحۡمَةٞۖand MercyوَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَAnd thoseهُمُtheyٱلۡمُهۡتَدُونَare the guided ones

Ayah 158

۞إِنَّIndeedٱلصَّفَاthe Safaوَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَand the Marwahمِنare fromشَعَآئِرِthe symbolsٱللَّهِۖof AllahفَمَنۡSo whoeverحَجَّperforms Hajjٱلۡبَيۡتَof the Houseأَوِorٱعۡتَمَرَperforms Umrahفَلَاso noجُنَاحَblameعَلَيۡهِon himأَنthatيَطَّوَّفَhe walksبِهِمَاۚbetween both of themوَمَنAnd whoeverتَطَوَّعَvoluntarily doesخَيۡرٗاgoodفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahشَاكِرٌis All-AppreciativeعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing

Ayah 159

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَكۡتُمُونَconcealمَآwhatأَنزَلۡنَاWe revealedمِنَofٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِthe clear proofsوَٱلۡهُدَىٰand the GuidanceمِنۢfromبَعۡدِafterمَاwhatبَيَّنَّـٰهُWe made clearلِلنَّاسِto the peopleفِيinٱلۡكِتَٰبِthe Bookأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthoseيَلۡعَنُهُمُcurses themٱللَّهُAllahوَيَلۡعَنُهُمُand curse themٱللَّـٰعِنُونَthe ones who curse

Ayah 160

إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthoseتَابُواْwho repentedوَأَصۡلَحُواْand reformedوَبَيَّنُواْand openly declaredفَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThen thoseأَتُوبُI will accept repentanceعَلَيۡهِمۡfrom themوَأَنَاand I amٱلتَّوَّابُthe Acceptor of Repentanceٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful

Ayah 161

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedوَمَاتُواْand diedوَهُمۡwhile theyكُفَّارٌwere disbelieversأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthoseعَلَيۡهِمۡon themلَعۡنَةُis the curseٱللَّهِof Allahوَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِand the Angelsوَٱلنَّاسِand the mankindأَجۡمَعِينَall together

Ayah 162

خَٰلِدِينَWill abide foreverفِيهَاin itلَاNotيُخَفَّفُwill be lightenedعَنۡهُمُfor themٱلۡعَذَابُthe punishmentوَلَاand notهُمۡtheyيُنظَرُونَwill be reprieved

Ayah 163

وَإِلَٰهُكُمۡAnd your Godإِلَٰهٞis Godوَٰحِدٞۖone onlyلَّآthere is noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُthe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful

Ayah 164

إِنَّIndeedفِيinخَلۡقِthe creationٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِof the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِand the earthوَٱخۡتِلَٰفِand alternationٱلَّيۡلِof the nightوَٱلنَّهَارِand the dayوَٱلۡفُلۡكِand the shipsٱلَّتِيwhichتَجۡرِيsailفِيinٱلۡبَحۡرِthe seaبِمَاwith whatيَنفَعُbenefitsٱلنَّاسَthe peopleوَمَآand whatأَنزَلَhas sent downٱللَّهُAllahمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمِنofمَّآءٖwaterفَأَحۡيَاgiving lifeبِهِtherebyٱلۡأَرۡضَto the earthبَعۡدَafterمَوۡتِهَاits deathوَبَثَّand dispersingفِيهَاthereinمِنofكُلِّeveryدَآبَّةٖmoving creatureوَتَصۡرِيفِand directingٱلرِّيَٰحِof the windsوَٱلسَّحَابِand the cloudsٱلۡمُسَخَّرِthe controlledبَيۡنَbetweenٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyوَٱلۡأَرۡضِand the earthلَأٓيَٰتٖsurely are Signsلِّقَوۡمٖfor a peopleيَعۡقِلُونَwho use their intellect

Ayah 165

وَمِنَAnd amongٱلنَّاسِthe mankindمَنwhoيَتَّخِذُtakesمِنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahأَندَادٗاequalsيُحِبُّونَهُمۡThey love themكَحُبِّas they should loveٱللَّهِۖAllahوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُوٓاْbelievedأَشَدُّare strongerحُبّٗاin loveلِّلَّهِۗfor AllahوَلَوۡAnd ifيَرَىwould seeٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوٓاْwrongedإِذۡwhenيَرَوۡنَthey will seeٱلۡعَذَابَthe punishmentأَنَّthatٱلۡقُوَّةَthe powerلِلَّهِbelongs to Allahجَمِيعٗاallوَأَنَّand thatٱللَّهَAllahشَدِيدُis severeٱلۡعَذَابِin the punishment

Ayah 166

إِذۡWhenتَبَرَّأَwill disownٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱتُّبِعُواْwere followedمِنَfromٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱتَّبَعُواْfollowedوَرَأَوُاْand they will seeٱلۡعَذَابَthe punishmentوَتَقَطَّعَتۡand will be cut offبِهِمُfor themٱلۡأَسۡبَابُthe relations

Ayah 167

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱتَّبَعُواْfollowedلَوۡOnly ifأَنَّthatلَنَاfor usكَرَّةٗa returnفَنَتَبَرَّأَthen we will disownمِنۡهُمۡfrom themكَمَاasتَبَرَّءُواْthey disownمِنَّاۗfrom usكَذَٰلِكَThusيُرِيهِمُwill show themٱللَّهُAllahأَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡtheir deedsحَسَرَٰتٍas regretsعَلَيۡهِمۡۖfor themوَمَاAnd notهُمtheyبِخَٰرِجِينَwill come outمِنَfromٱلنَّارِthe Fire

Ayah 168

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُmankindكُلُواْEatمِمَّاof whatفِيis inٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthحَلَٰلٗاlawfulطَيِّبٗاand goodوَلَاAnd do notتَتَّبِعُواْfollowخُطُوَٰتِthe footsteps ofٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚthe ShaitaanإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heلَكُمۡis to youعَدُوّٞan enemyمُّبِينٌclear

Ayah 169

إِنَّمَاOnlyيَأۡمُرُكُمhe commands youبِٱلسُّوٓءِto do the evilوَٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِand the shamefulوَأَنand thatتَقُولُواْyou sayعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعۡلَمُونَyou know

Ayah 170

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themٱتَّبِعُواْFollowمَآwhatأَنزَلَhas revealedٱللَّهُAllahقَالُواْthey saidبَلۡNayنَتَّبِعُwe followمَآwhatأَلۡفَيۡنَاwe foundعَلَيۡهِon itءَابَآءَنَآۚour forefathers followingأَوَلَوۡEven thoughكَانَwereءَابَآؤُهُمۡtheir forefathersلَاdid notيَعۡقِلُونَunderstandشَيۡـٔٗاanythingوَلَاand notيَهۡتَدُونَwere they guided

Ayah 171

وَمَثَلُAnd the exampleٱلَّذِينَof those whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedكَمَثَلِis like the exampleٱلَّذِيof the one whoيَنۡعِقُshoutsبِمَاat whatلَاnotيَسۡمَعُdoes hearإِلَّاexceptدُعَآءٗcallsوَنِدَآءٗۚand criesصُمُّۢdeafبُكۡمٌdumbعُمۡيٞand blindفَهُمۡso theyلَاdo notيَعۡقِلُونَunderstand

Ayah 172

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُواْbelievedكُلُواْEatمِنfromطَيِّبَٰتِthe goodمَاwhatرَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡWe have provided youوَٱشۡكُرُواْand be gratefulلِلَّهِto Allahإِنifكُنتُمۡyouإِيَّاهُaloneتَعۡبُدُونَworship Him

Ayah 173

إِنَّمَاOnlyحَرَّمَHe has forbiddenعَلَيۡكُمُto youٱلۡمَيۡتَةَthe dead animalsوَٱلدَّمَand the bloodوَلَحۡمَand fleshٱلۡخِنزِيرِof swineوَمَآand whatأُهِلَّhas been dedicatedبِهِۦwith itلِغَيۡرِto other thanٱللَّهِۖAllahفَمَنِSo whoeverٱضۡطُرَّis forced by necessityغَيۡرَwithoutبَاغٖbeing disobedientوَلَاand notعَادٖtransgressorفَلَآthen noإِثۡمَsinعَلَيۡهِۚon himإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٞis Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful

Ayah 174

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَكۡتُمُونَconcealمَآwhatأَنزَلَhas revealedٱللَّهُAllah hasمِنَofٱلۡكِتَٰبِthe Bookوَيَشۡتَرُونَand they purchaseبِهِۦthere withثَمَنٗاa gainقَلِيلًاlittleأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseمَاnotيَأۡكُلُونَthey eatفِيinبُطُونِهِمۡtheir belliesإِلَّاexceptٱلنَّارَthe FireوَلَاAnd notيُكَلِّمُهُمُwill speak to themٱللَّهُAllahيَوۡمَon the Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِof the Judgmentوَلَاand notيُزَكِّيهِمۡwill He purify themوَلَهُمۡand for themعَذَابٌis a punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful

Ayah 175

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَare they whoٱشۡتَرَوُاْpurchasedٱلضَّلَٰلَةَthe astrayingبِٱلۡهُدَىٰfor the Guidanceوَٱلۡعَذَابَand the punishmentبِٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚfor the forgivenessفَمَآSo what isأَصۡبَرَهُمۡtheir enduranceعَلَىonٱلنَّارِthe Fire!

Ayah 176

ذَٰلِكَThatبِأَنَّis becauseٱللَّهَAllahنَزَّلَrevealedٱلۡكِتَٰبَthe Bookبِٱلۡحَقِّۗwith the TruthوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلَّذِينَthoseٱخۡتَلَفُواْwho differedفِيinٱلۡكِتَٰبِthe Bookلَفِيare surely inشِقَاقِۭschismبَعِيدٖfar

Ayah 177

۞لَّيۡسَIt is notٱلۡبِرَّthe righteousnessأَنthatتُوَلُّواْyou turnوُجُوهَكُمۡyour facesقِبَلَtowardsٱلۡمَشۡرِقِthe eastوَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِand the westوَلَٰكِنَّand butٱلۡبِرَّthe righteousnessمَنۡis he whoءَامَنَbelievesبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلۡيَوۡمِand the Dayٱلۡأٓخِرِthe Lastوَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِand the Angelsوَٱلۡكِتَٰبِand the Bookوَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَand the Prophetsوَءَاتَىand givesٱلۡمَالَthe wealthعَلَىٰinحُبِّهِۦspite of his love for itذَوِيto thoseٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰof the near relativesوَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰand the orphansوَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينَand the needyوَٱبۡنَand ofٱلسَّبِيلِthe wayfarerوَٱلسَّآئِلِينَand those who askوَفِيand inٱلرِّقَابِfreeing the necks slavesوَأَقَامَand who establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتَىand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahوَٱلۡمُوفُونَand those who fulfillبِعَهۡدِهِمۡtheir covenantإِذَاwhenعَٰهَدُواْۖthey make itوَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَand those who are patientفِيinٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِthe sufferingوَٱلضَّرَّآءِand the hardshipوَحِينَat the timeٱلۡبَأۡسِۗof the stressأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَare the ones whoصَدَقُواْۖare trueوَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَand thoseهُمُtheyٱلۡمُتَّقُونَare the righteous

Ayah 178

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُواْbelievedكُتِبَPrescribedعَلَيۡكُمُfor youٱلۡقِصَاصُis the legal retributionفِيinٱلۡقَتۡلَىۖthe matter of the murderedٱلۡحُرُّthe freemanبِٱلۡحُرِّfor the freemanوَٱلۡعَبۡدُand the slaveبِٱلۡعَبۡدِfor the slaveوَٱلۡأُنثَىٰand the femaleبِٱلۡأُنثَىٰۚfor the femaleفَمَنۡBut whoeverعُفِيَis pardonedلَهُۥfor itمِنۡfromأَخِيهِhis brotherشَيۡءٞanythingفَٱتِّبَاعُۢthen follows upبِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِwith suitableوَأَدَآءٌand paymentإِلَيۡهِto himبِإِحۡسَٰنٖۗwith kindnessذَٰلِكَThat isتَخۡفِيفٞa concessionمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمۡyour Lordوَرَحۡمَةٞۗand mercyفَمَنِThen whoeverٱعۡتَدَىٰtransgressesبَعۡدَafterذَٰلِكَthatفَلَهُۥthen for himعَذَابٌis a punishmentأَلِيمٞpainful

Ayah 179

وَلَكُمۡAnd for youفِيinٱلۡقِصَاصِthe legal retributionحَيَوٰةٞis lifeيَـٰٓأُوْلِيO menٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِof understandingلَعَلَّكُمۡSo that you mayتَتَّقُونَbecome righteous

Ayah 180

كُتِبَPrescribedعَلَيۡكُمۡfor youإِذَاwhenحَضَرَapproachesأَحَدَكُمُany of youٱلۡمَوۡتُthe deathإِنifتَرَكَhe leavesخَيۡرًاgoodٱلۡوَصِيَّةُmaking the willلِلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِfor the parentsوَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَand the near relativesبِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖwith due fairnessحَقًّاa dutyعَلَىonٱلۡمُتَّقِينَthe righteous ones

Ayah 181

فَمَنۢThen whoeverبَدَّلَهُۥchanges itبَعۡدَمَاafter whatسَمِعَهُۥhe has heard itفَإِنَّمَآso onlyإِثۡمُهُۥits sinعَلَىwould be onٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُبَدِّلُونَهُۥٓۚalter itإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahسَمِيعٌis All-HearingعَلِيمٞAll-Knowing

Ayah 182

فَمَنۡBut whoeverخَافَfearsمِنfromمُّوصٖthe testatorجَنَفًاany errorأَوۡorإِثۡمٗاsinفَأَصۡلَحَthen reconcilesبَيۡنَهُمۡbetween themفَلَآthen there is noإِثۡمَsinعَلَيۡهِۚon himإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٞis Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٞAll-Merciful

Ayah 183

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُواْbelievedكُتِبَIs prescribedعَلَيۡكُمُfor youٱلصِّيَامُthe fastingكَمَاasكُتِبَwas prescribedعَلَىtoٱلَّذِينَthoseمِنfromقَبۡلِكُمۡbefore youلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتَتَّقُونَbecome righteous

Ayah 184

أَيَّامٗاFasting for daysمَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۚnumberedفَمَنSo whoeverكَانَisمِنكُمamong youمَّرِيضًاsickأَوۡorعَلَىٰonسَفَرٖa journeyفَعِدَّةٞthen a prescribed numberمِّنۡofأَيَّامٍdaysأُخَرَۚotherوَعَلَىAnd onٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُطِيقُونَهُۥcan afford itفِدۡيَةٞa ransomطَعَامُof feedingمِسۡكِينٖۖa poorفَمَنAnd whoeverتَطَوَّعَvolunteersخَيۡرٗاgoodفَهُوَthen itخَيۡرٞis betterلَّهُۥۚfor himوَأَنAnd toتَصُومُواْfastخَيۡرٞis betterلَّكُمۡfor youإِنifكُنتُمۡyouتَعۡلَمُونَknow

Ayah 185

شَهۡرُMonthرَمَضَانَof Ramadhaanٱلَّذِيٓis thatأُنزِلَwas revealedفِيهِthereinٱلۡقُرۡءَانُthe Quranهُدٗىa Guidanceلِّلنَّاسِfor mankindوَبَيِّنَٰتٖand clear proofsمِّنَofٱلۡهُدَىٰthe Guidanceوَٱلۡفُرۡقَانِۚand the CriterionفَمَنSo whoeverشَهِدَwitnessesمِنكُمُamong youٱلشَّهۡرَthe monthفَلۡيَصُمۡهُۖthen he should fast in itوَمَنand whoeverكَانَisمَرِيضًاsickأَوۡorعَلَىٰonسَفَرٖa journeyفَعِدَّةٞthen prescribed number should be made upمِّنۡfromأَيَّامٍdaysأُخَرَۗotherيُرِيدُIntendsٱللَّهُAllahبِكُمُfor youٱلۡيُسۡرَthe easeوَلَاand notيُرِيدُintendsبِكُمُfor youٱلۡعُسۡرَthe hardshipوَلِتُكۡمِلُواْso that you completeٱلۡعِدَّةَthe prescribed periodوَلِتُكَبِّرُواْand that you magnifyٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰforمَاwhatهَدَىٰكُمۡHe guided youوَلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتَشۡكُرُونَbe grateful

Ayah 186

وَإِذَاAnd whenسَأَلَكَask youعِبَادِيMy servantsعَنِّيabout Meفَإِنِّيthen indeed I amقَرِيبٌۖnearأُجِيبُI respondدَعۡوَةَto the invocationٱلدَّاعِof the supplicantإِذَاwhenدَعَانِۖhe calls MeفَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْSo let them respondلِيto Meوَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْand let them believeبِيin Meلَعَلَّهُمۡso that they mayيَرۡشُدُونَbe led aright

Ayah 187

أُحِلَّPermittedلَكُمۡfor youلَيۡلَةَin the nightsٱلصِّيَامِof fastingٱلرَّفَثُis the approachإِلَىٰtoنِسَآئِكُمۡۚyour wivesهُنَّTheyلِبَاسٞare garmentsلَّكُمۡfor youوَأَنتُمۡand youلِبَاسٞare garmentsلَّهُنَّۗfor themعَلِمَKnowsٱللَّهُAllahأَنَّكُمۡthat youكُنتُمۡused toتَخۡتَانُونَdeceiveأَنفُسَكُمۡyourselvesفَتَابَso He turnedعَلَيۡكُمۡtowards youوَعَفَاand He forgaveعَنكُمۡۖon youفَٱلۡـَٰٔنَSo nowبَٰشِرُوهُنَّhave relations with themوَٱبۡتَغُواْand seekمَاwhatكَتَبَhas ordainedٱللَّهُAllahلَكُمۡۚfor youوَكُلُواْAnd eatوَٱشۡرَبُواْand drinkحَتَّىٰuntilيَتَبَيَّنَbecomes distinctلَكُمُto youٱلۡخَيۡطُthe threadٱلۡأَبۡيَضُthe whiteمِنَfromٱلۡخَيۡطِthe threadٱلۡأَسۡوَدِthe blackمِنَofٱلۡفَجۡرِۖthe dawnثُمَّThenأَتِمُّواْcompleteٱلصِّيَامَthe fastإِلَىtillٱلَّيۡلِۚthe nightوَلَاAnd do notتُبَٰشِرُوهُنَّhave relations with themوَأَنتُمۡwhile youعَٰكِفُونَare secludedفِيinٱلۡمَسَٰجِدِۗthe masajidتِلۡكَTheseحُدُودُare the limitsٱللَّهِset by Allahفَلَاso do notتَقۡرَبُوهَاۗapproach themكَذَٰلِكَThusيُبَيِّنُmakes clearٱللَّهُAllahءَايَٰتِهِۦHis versesلِلنَّاسِfor the peopleلَعَلَّهُمۡso that they mayيَتَّقُونَbecome righteous

Ayah 188

وَلَاAnd do notتَأۡكُلُوٓاْeatأَمۡوَٰلَكُمyour propertiesبَيۡنَكُمamong yourselvesبِٱلۡبَٰطِلِwrongfullyوَتُدۡلُواْand presentبِهَآwith itإِلَىtoٱلۡحُكَّامِthe authoritiesلِتَأۡكُلُواْso that you may eatفَرِيقٗاa portionمِّنۡfromأَمۡوَٰلِthe wealthٱلنَّاسِof the peopleبِٱلۡإِثۡمِsinfullyوَأَنتُمۡwhile youتَعۡلَمُونَknow

Ayah 189

۞يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَThey ask youعَنِaboutٱلۡأَهِلَّةِۖthe new moonsقُلۡSayهِيَTheyمَوَٰقِيتُare indicators of periodsلِلنَّاسِfor the peopleوَٱلۡحَجِّۗand for the HajjوَلَيۡسَAnd it is notٱلۡبِرُّthe righteousnessبِأَنthatتَأۡتُواْyou comeٱلۡبُيُوتَto the housesمِنfromظُهُورِهَاtheir backsوَلَٰكِنَّand butٱلۡبِرَّthe righteousمَنِis one whoٱتَّقَىٰۗfears AllahوَأۡتُواْAnd comeٱلۡبُيُوتَto the housesمِنۡfromأَبۡوَٰبِهَاۚtheir doorsوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearٱللَّهَAllahلَعَلَّكُمۡso that you mayتُفۡلِحُونَbe successful

Ayah 190

وَقَٰتِلُواْAnd fightفِيinسَبِيلِthe wayٱللَّهِof Allahٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡfight youوَلَاand do notتَعۡتَدُوٓاْۚtransgressإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَاdoes notيُحِبُّlikeٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَthe transgressors

PAGE 30

Ayah 191

وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡAnd kill themحَيۡثُwhereverثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡyou find themوَأَخۡرِجُوهُمand drive them outمِّنۡfromحَيۡثُwhereverأَخۡرَجُوكُمۡۚthey drove you outوَٱلۡفِتۡنَةُand the oppressionأَشَدُّis worseمِنَthanٱلۡقَتۡلِۚthe killingوَلَاAnd do notتُقَٰتِلُوهُمۡfight themعِندَnearٱلۡمَسۡجِدِAl-MasjidٱلۡحَرَامِAl-Haraamحَتَّىٰuntilيُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡthey fight youفِيهِۖin itفَإِنThen ifقَٰتَلُوكُمۡthey fight youفَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡۗthen kill themكَذَٰلِكَSuchجَزَآءُis the rewardٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَof the disbelievers

Ayah 192

فَإِنِThen ifٱنتَهَوۡاْthey ceaseفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٞis Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٞMost Merciful

Ayah 193

وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡAnd fight against themحَتَّىٰuntilلَاnotتَكُونَthere isفِتۡنَةٞoppressionوَيَكُونَand becomesٱلدِّينُthe religionلِلَّهِۖfor AllahفَإِنِThen ifٱنتَهَوۡاْthey ceaseفَلَاthen let there be noعُدۡوَٰنَhostilityإِلَّاexceptعَلَىagainstٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe oppressors

Ayah 194

ٱلشَّهۡرُThe monthٱلۡحَرَامُthe sacredبِٱلشَّهۡرِis for the monthٱلۡحَرَامِthe sacredوَٱلۡحُرُمَٰتُand for all the violationsقِصَاصٞۚis legal retributionفَمَنِThen whoeverٱعۡتَدَىٰtransgressedعَلَيۡكُمۡupon youفَٱعۡتَدُواْthen you transgressعَلَيۡهِon himبِمِثۡلِin the same mannerمَاasٱعۡتَدَىٰhe transgressedعَلَيۡكُمۡۚupon youوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearٱللَّهَAllahوَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْand knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahمَعَis withٱلۡمُتَّقِينَthose who fear Him

Ayah 195

وَأَنفِقُواْAnd spendفِيinسَبِيلِthe wayٱللَّهِof Allahوَلَاand do notتُلۡقُواْthrow yourselvesبِأَيۡدِيكُمۡwith your handsإِلَىintoٱلتَّهۡلُكَةِthe destructionوَأَحۡسِنُوٓاْۚAnd do goodإِنَّindeedٱللَّهَAllahيُحِبُّlovesٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَthe good-doers

Ayah 196

وَأَتِمُّواْAnd completeٱلۡحَجَّthe Hajjوَٱلۡعُمۡرَةَand the Umrahلِلَّهِۚfor AllahفَإِنۡAnd ifأُحۡصِرۡتُمۡyou are held backفَمَاthen offer whateverٱسۡتَيۡسَرَcan be obtained with easeمِنَofٱلۡهَدۡيِۖthe sacrificial animalوَلَاAnd do notتَحۡلِقُواْshaveرُءُوسَكُمۡyour headsحَتَّىٰuntilيَبۡلُغَreachesٱلۡهَدۡيُthe sacrificial animalمَحِلَّهُۥۚto its destinationفَمَنThen whoeverكَانَisمِنكُمamong youمَّرِيضًاillأَوۡorبِهِۦٓhe hasأَذٗىan ailmentمِّنofرَّأۡسِهِۦhis headفَفِدۡيَةٞthen a ransomمِّنofصِيَامٍfastingأَوۡorصَدَقَةٍcharityأَوۡorنُسُكٖۚsacrificeفَإِذَآThen whenأَمِنتُمۡyou are secureفَمَنthen whoeverتَمَتَّعَtook advantageبِٱلۡعُمۡرَةِof the Umrahإِلَىfollowedٱلۡحَجِّby the Hajjفَمَاthen offer whateverٱسۡتَيۡسَرَcan be obtained with easeمِنَofٱلۡهَدۡيِۚthe sacrificial animalفَمَنBut whoeverلَّمۡcan notيَجِدۡfindفَصِيَامُthen a fastثَلَٰثَةِof threeأَيَّامٖdaysفِيduringٱلۡحَجِّthe Hajjوَسَبۡعَةٍand seven daysإِذَاwhenرَجَعۡتُمۡۗyou returnتِلۡكَThisعَشَرَةٞis ten daysكَامِلَةٞۗin allذَٰلِكَThatلِمَنis for the one whoseلَّمۡnotيَكُنۡisأَهۡلُهُۥhis familyحَاضِرِيpresentٱلۡمَسۡجِدِnear Al-MasjidٱلۡحَرَامِۚAl-HaraamوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearٱللَّهَAllahوَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْand knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahشَدِيدُis severeٱلۡعِقَابِin retribution

Ayah 197

ٱلۡحَجُّFor the Hajjأَشۡهُرٞare monthsمَّعۡلُومَٰتٞۚwell knownفَمَنthen whoeverفَرَضَundertakesفِيهِنَّthereinٱلۡحَجَّthe Hajjفَلَاthen noرَفَثَsexual relationsوَلَاand noفُسُوقَwickednessوَلَاand noجِدَالَquarrellingفِيduringٱلۡحَجِّۗthe HajjوَمَاAnd whateverتَفۡعَلُواْyou doمِنۡofخَيۡرٖgoodيَعۡلَمۡهُknows itٱللَّهُۗAllahوَتَزَوَّدُواْAnd take provisionفَإِنَّbut indeedخَيۡرَthe bestٱلزَّادِprovisionٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖis righteousnessوَٱتَّقُونِAnd fear MeيَـٰٓأُوْلِيO menٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِof understanding

Ayah 198

لَيۡسَNot isعَلَيۡكُمۡon youجُنَاحٌany sinأَنthatتَبۡتَغُواْyou seekفَضۡلٗاbountyمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمۡۚyour LordفَإِذَآAnd whenأَفَضۡتُمyou departمِّنۡfromعَرَفَٰتٖMount Arafatفَٱذۡكُرُواْthen rememberٱللَّهَAllahعِندَnearٱلۡمَشۡعَرِthe Monumentٱلۡحَرَامِۖthe SacredوَٱذۡكُرُوهُAnd remember HimكَمَاasهَدَىٰكُمۡHe has guided youوَإِنand thoughكُنتُمyou wereمِّنfromقَبۡلِهِۦbefore itلَمِنَsurely amongٱلضَّآلِّينَthose who went astray

Ayah 199

ثُمَّThenأَفِيضُواْdepartمِنۡfromحَيۡثُwhereverأَفَاضَdepartٱلنَّاسُthe peopleوَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْand ask forgivenessٱللَّهَۚof AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٞis Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٞAll-Merciful

Ayah 200

فَإِذَاThen whenقَضَيۡتُمyou completedمَّنَٰسِكَكُمۡyour acts of worshipفَٱذۡكُرُواْthen rememberٱللَّهَAllahكَذِكۡرِكُمۡas you rememberءَابَآءَكُمۡyour forefathersأَوۡorأَشَدَّwith greaterذِكۡرٗاۗremembranceفَمِنَAnd fromٱلنَّاسِthe peopleمَنwhoيَقُولُsayرَبَّنَآOur Lord!ءَاتِنَاGrant usفِيinٱلدُّنۡيَاthe worldوَمَاAnd notلَهُۥfor himفِيinٱلۡأٓخِرَةِthe Hereafterمِنۡofخَلَٰقٖany share

Ayah 201

وَمِنۡهُمAnd from thoseمَّنwhoيَقُولُsayرَبَّنَآOur Lord!ءَاتِنَاGrant usفِيinٱلدُّنۡيَاthe worldحَسَنَةٗgoodوَفِيand inٱلۡأٓخِرَةِthe Hereafterحَسَنَةٗgoodوَقِنَاand save usعَذَابَfrom the punishmentٱلنَّارِof the Fire

Ayah 202

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseلَهُمۡfor themنَصِيبٞis a shareمِّمَّاof whatكَسَبُواْۚthey earnedوَٱللَّهُand Allahسَرِيعُis swiftٱلۡحِسَابِin taking account

Ayah 203

۞وَٱذۡكُرُواْAnd rememberٱللَّهَAllahفِيٓduringأَيَّامٖdaysمَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۚnumberedفَمَنThen he whoتَعَجَّلَhurriesفِيinيَوۡمَيۡنِtwo daysفَلَآthen noإِثۡمَsinعَلَيۡهِupon himوَمَنand whoeverتَأَخَّرَdelaysفَلَآthen noإِثۡمَsinعَلَيۡهِۖupon himلِمَنِfor the one whoٱتَّقَىٰۗfearsوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearٱللَّهَAllahوَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْand knowأَنَّكُمۡthat youإِلَيۡهِunto Himتُحۡشَرُونَwill be gathered

Ayah 204

وَمِنَAnd ofٱلنَّاسِthe peopleمَنis the one whoيُعۡجِبُكَpleases youقَوۡلُهُۥwith his speechفِيinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاof the worldوَيُشۡهِدُand he calls to witnessٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰonمَاwhatفِيis inقَلۡبِهِۦhis heartوَهُوَand heأَلَدُّis the most quarrelsomeٱلۡخِصَامِof opponents

Ayah 205

وَإِذَاAnd whenتَوَلَّىٰhe turns awayسَعَىٰhe strivesفِيinٱلۡأَرۡضِthe earthلِيُفۡسِدَto spread corruptionفِيهَاin itوَيُهۡلِكَand destroysٱلۡحَرۡثَthe cropsوَٱلنَّسۡلَۚand progenyوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahلَاdoes notيُحِبُّloveٱلۡفَسَادَthe corruption

Ayah 206

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُto himٱتَّقِFearٱللَّهَAllahأَخَذَتۡهُtakes himٱلۡعِزَّةُhis
