LOVING THE NEW YEAR TOURIST

Chloe Dawson had always, always wanted to celebrate the new year in the Lake District with its massive rolling hills, immense lakes and the endless peaceful mess that was just perfect to saying goodbye to the previous year and hello to the new one.

And falling the past year of losing her boyfriend to cancer, failing some of her exams (yes, a person in their mid-thirties can still learn stuff) and falling out with her parents because of it all. Chloe seriously needed to say goodbye to the past year.

As Chloe drove down the dangerously narrow but breath-taking country lanes through the Lake District in her little red car. She was just stunned by the endless stretches of frosty green grass, bushes and rolling hills that went on for as far as the eye could see.

It was amazing.

Even the fresh crisp air smelt wonderfully of nature, dampness and a cleanliness that Chloe would never have gotten in the city.

Chloe kept driving on the bumping country lanes that made her car vibrate ever so slightly, and the sound of the birds singing, ducks whacking and all the other wildlife was amazing background music for what Chloe just knew was going to be an amazing new years eve.
