About this ebook

Niniejszy ebook edukacyjny zawiera kilkaset zwrotów i wyrażeń potocznych i slangowych, używanych w dzisiejszym języku angielskim w odmianie amerykańskiej.
Życzę wszystkim przyjemnej lektury i owocnej nauki!

I would like to present to you this ebook on American English phrases, including mainly colloquial language and slang expressions. I'm giving you the result of many years of teaching experience along with a few pointers on how to read the content properly. First of all, please keep in mind that it's NOT a language dictionary, meaning you won't find the origins of most of the phrases here. However, it's all been categorized in alphabetical order,so that it's easier for the reader to find and memorize a certain phrase. Also, I'd like to assure you that ALL of these idioms and slang expressions presented in this ebook are used in today's American English and you can be sure that American people use them on daily basis. With every phrase you will get a short example or a mini dialogue to help you understand it in context. You'll also notice that the given examples are mostly informal style, to give you a better idea on how American people talk and express their thoughts in everyday life situations. Finally, please remember that it is my own subjective selection of American expressions which I believe will bring you a little closer to the real and spoken informal language. Some of them you won't find in other phrase books or popular dictionaries and some you'll probably see for the first time. Surely there is also a group of idioms which you have probably heard or read somewhere before,so it could be a great opportunity for some of you to brush up on your language skills. As the Latin saying goes: 'Repetitio est mater studiorum' which means 'Repetition is the mother of learning'... so off you go and let's get started.
Have fun and enjoy everyone!
