Keara stared at herself in the mirror trying to visualize the person she was supposed to be and not the person she truly was. In a few weeks she’d have her coming of age ceremony. To humans, that meant she was turning roughly twenty years old.

At the ceremony, she’d be expected to choose her mate and continue the fae line. Her clan lived a peaceful life in the hills of Northern Ireland. They typically kept to themselves but occasionally went into the human towns to have a wee bit of fun or help someone they thought was deserving. They’d even had a few clansmen fall in love and join the human world. That was frowned upon but being the good people they were, they forgave them.

Her friends more often than not pestered her about who she would choose as her mate. She always shrugged them off, not ready to give them an answer. They had bets going on who it would be. In their clan, the females did the asking and never had a male refused.

Up until their ceremony, they were encouraged to date many of the men in their clan to ensure they chose wisely. But much to Keara’s frustration, they were not allowed to be intimate with them. That was a sacred rule that everyone followed.

Here was the problem with that, she didn’t want to follow it. Keara wanted to steal kisses behind trees, feel a man inside her under the full moon. Hell, she would settle for some light groping just once. If she didn’t mate soon, she worried she would explode.

It was all well and good to date. However, she was pretty sure it would be frowned upon if her family and friends knew how often she had to masturbate just to control her needs.

The other girl’s favorite part was the display window at the front where they could stand and watch the bakers make any number of special treats. Keara preferred watching from inside where she could inhale the cocoa scent while she watched the boy work.

Peering around, Keara noted the boy was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t satisfied until she got to see him at least once. She waited while her friends bought their chocolate and then she sent her friends home.

It wasn’t long before boredom set in, with a sigh she went outside in search of him. Keara stopped as she heard a sound she wasn’t familiar with. There was a moaning noise coming from behind the storage shed. She slid between the wall of the building and the shed and peeked around. Shock overwhelmed her, the baker’s son was with two women she’d never seen before. They were both gorgeous, and she could tell they were fae, but definitely not from around there.

She heard the blonde fae call him Sean as she told him to lie down on the ground. They knelt on either side of him, running their hands over his body.
