Suatu ketika dahulu, ada seorang budak perempuan bernama Amanda. Amanda tidak mampu ketawa atau tersenyum. Dia tidak gembira.
There once was a young girl named Amanda. Amanda didn’t laugh or smile. She was unhappy.
Amanda mempunyai ramai kawan. Dia mempunyai keluarga yang penyayang dan tinggal dalam rumah yang besar dengan memiliki semua benda yang dikehendaki olehnya. Tetapi, dia masih berasa seperti kekurangan sesuatu.
Amanda had a lot of friends. She had a loving family and lived in a big house with all the things her heart desired. However, she still felt like something was missing.
Dia tidak senyum semasa dia menggosok gigi, menyikat rambutnya atau bermain dengan anak-anak patungnya sekalipun.
She didn’t smile as she brushed her teeth, combed her hair or even played with her dolls.
Setiap malam sebelum tidur, dia duduk dengan ayahnya dan bermain catur, permainan kegemarannya, tetapi itu tidak menceriakannya sedikit pun.
